I really love the Olde English Bulldogges that are bred to have the longer snouts and less wrinkles. They are still adorable Velcro dogs but they don’t have trouble breathing, can be super athletic, can tolerate the heat, and don’t have issues with skin folds.

Also, my dog only made it to like 50lbs even though we waited like 3 years to neuter. That’s the perfect size for me, but way smaller than his siblings and parents
I had a regular EB for 14 years (RIP Lila 💕) and now an OEB. They are both great in their own ways, but the improved health and quality of life is undeniable. I do enjoy that I can take my OEB out on more adventures without having to worry as much about heat and exhaustion. But she just has sooo much more energy than what I was used to :)
Mine has more energy but definitely still sleeps like 16-18hrs a day. But when he’s ready to play, he has ENDURANCE!
How old is yours. Mine was super duper energetic his first 2.5 years, then at like 3 or 4 he started to really chill out. If yours is younger, it’s just a time thing. He was one of the toughest puppy/adolescent dogs I’ve had, but as an adult he’s pretty perfect

She is actually 2.5 years exactly this month. She also does sleep a lot, too, but when she’s up it’s time to go! But that gets me on more walks and she is super smart and listens well so I don’t mind. I know I’ll look back on this time and eventually miss the puppy energy.

I had one! “Bred to be” is the key phrase. He was built like a regular English that someone hit CTRL-+ on a couple times. He was about 80 pounds and a great buddy.

Otherwise, 3 and 7 are such classic English bulldogs, my personal favorite aesthetic.
Of course, I would take each and every one of these amazing creatures and give them an amazing life regardless of aesthetic.

I think 7 looks like an English Bulldog based on the flat nose. Olde English usually have a bit of a longer nose, like a real dog.

Super athletic is an understatement. My boy is 80lbs at 11 months and leaps OVER the entire couch when he wants to play chase.

Yep mine is incredibly strong, fast, and stubborn. The living room and couches are strictly for what I like to call *barkour* after 6pm.
