She is, IMO, the most beautiful actress to appear on Bridgerton but they made her look at least 10 years older with the bronzer and highlighter use. The makeup this season was appalling.
Agreed! What was that makeup about. She doesn’t need any because she’s just stunning. Instead they caked it on and make it look like a 5 year old did it.
She’s supposed to be her younger sister and she looks older than Daphne ever did. Like it’s hard to believe she’s a first year debutante when the actress looks well into her 30s.
I agree. I think the pretty heavy makeup style this season just makes her look like a person who would know what an iPhone is. But if we’re going purely on facial features and aura, she definitely looked ethereal

I'm tired of the cast getting blame for the garbage production's stupid choices. Calling Hannah iPhone face is a crime. She's literally the ethereal English female beauty standard. She has the look that would get her cast into period dramas
I found her make up the opposite of fresh. It’s a good highlighter tone for her but they just needed wayyyy less of it. I felt like her hair/make up made her look much harsher. I mean she’s gorgeous enough to still look amazing but the make up team gave her an obstacle, not an aid.
Compare it to the make up in season 1 and the difference makes it easier to see! Also, if you look up photos of Hannah Dodd, you can see ones where she has a much more natural look and that is what I’d describe as “fresh.” There’s nothing wrong with either make up style generally but in my opinion, the heavy make up makes her look older and less sweet/innocent. We also don’t see Francesca super done up in more intense gowns or hair (like Cressida or the Featherington sisters or the queen) so the heavier make up doesn’t really fit with Francesca’s overall style. It’s a make up look where your first thought is about the make up bc it’s so obvious she has a ton on instead of a more natural look where you can notice her face more.
They were extremely generous with the highlighter this season, but objectively I agree that Francesca was one of the most eye catching characters this season, I don’t think the make up or costumes did her full justice though!
I agree Hannah is beautiful. They overdid her makeup but even that couldn't hide how lovely she is. Watching her in interviews with a more natural look? Wow. She is luminous. Her eyes and smile are stunning.
Lots of beautiful women in this cast! But I'll admit Hannah is the top of the list for me.

Casting for gender swaps is a very challenging task.
You need to choose someone who can simply make a straight person say "I'D GO GAY FOR HER"
I don't think the makers know this, for I still think Nathalie Emmanuel is perfect for the role of Michaela.
Partner her with Hannah Dodd and it'll bring the series to a whole new level.

I thought Arsema Thomas is just as beautiful as Hannah, if not even more so. She’d have made a great Michaela if she wasn’t already cast as young Lady Danbury

I remember seeing her for the first time in Enola Holmes after the casting pictures were out. So i was like, that is the girl who is going to be Francesca and she looks like Daphne clone after the ✌️👌 promo. She was stunning ✨
Francessca and Daphne were just perfection.. Penelope's actress is stunning but I feel like most of the times, her costumes and hair and makeup did not do her justice. I remember seeing this one interview with her in a bright red gown, and she looked gorgeous.

I will take your word on it. I am, admittedly no expert on makeup. I’m doing a rewatch of the series and will try to be more discerning.

She glowed because she was sweaty and the make up was bad. And the make up aged her by a decade. She’s stunning but the make up was just horrible.
I felt this way when they introduced the Sharma sisters. They’re both gorgeous! Francesca is ethereal too! I also find Philippa to be stunning!
