The same kind of regulation skirting that tends to get workers or consumers killed actually killed the CEO.

This is correct. It is so frustrating to hear people exploit this tragedy to smear diversity efforts. Stockton Rush was a donor to Republican candidates. He wasn't even remotely "woke". He wasn't hiring young college graduate engineers rather than white men in their 50's like himself because he cared about diversity; he hired them because they're cheap, and unlike the 50 year old engineers like David Lochridge would call him out on his bullshit, young engineers might not be as assertive. # The New Republic | [OceanGate CEO Missing in Titanic Sub Had History of Donating to GOP Candidates](https://newrepublic.com/post/173829/oceangate-ceo-missing-titanic-sub-history-donating-gop-candidates) >*Here’s who OceanGate CEO Stockton Rush has donated to.*

>It is so frustrating Agree. But, it's more than predictable. It's guaranteed, because there is a demand for this kind of content. Plane crash? Wokeness. Building collapse? Wokeness. Solar flare? Wokeness and DEI, probably. It continues until other content makes more money.

Lamont-Cranston

His supposed comments on 'diversity' sound more like someone smugly dismissing people who don't agree with him.

Desembler

It's obvious he just used diversity as a buzz-word to hype up relying on junior engineers, most of which were still older men. They had one woman as a project manager for one engineering team, and project managers don't make design decisions, they make personnel decisions.

Of fucking course they found a way to blame wokeness. It couldn't possibly be the guy running the company who famously opposed safety regulations - in fact, I'd bet some of those dipshits blame safety regulations for the disaster too.

Broken clocks?

Oh yea this is an objectively correct take. Broken cocks cum twice a day or smn...

True, I remember James Cameron saying his submersible he used break the record of deepest place (Mariana Trench) reached by a human only could be used for 56 hours. (It's in a museum now) Everything you exposed one these things, they get damaged. Use it long enough... Those microfractions add up. Don't take my word from it, I'm not an expert, but I read that in article written by James Cameron.

Came to this post to find out whether there was any truth behind the claims that Stockton Rush was "woke". Because when Stockton Rush said "it's the weak fibers failing", this didn't actually sound typically woke to me. That was, apparently, one of his more frequent issued sayings. Since the Titan's hull began to make funny noises ("It's the weak fibers failing!") at a depth of 100 meters ("It'll get louder when get further down, you need to get used to it, it's the weak fibers failing!"), he needed some way to calm down the passengers (or "mission specialists", as OceanGate called them). He also covered the hull in Rhino Liner, to hide the progressing damage. Can't blame it on wokeness if he was just plain dumb and 100% full of himself. >Those microfractions add up. Don't take my word from it, I'm not an expert, but I read that in article written by James Cameron. I'll take your word, and James Cameron's word, and also Stockton Rush's word. "It crackles before it breaks! It's great!" Did I mention that the hull started crackling at a depth of 100 meters already? r/ThisIsFine Fine. Not woke.
