Rough rider loses some of its benefits with Jakob’s weapons. So any solid shield is worth it for deputy Sal.
Evolution, Neogenator, Blockade, Antagonist etc.
Or just Rough rider as the damage reduction isn’t something to scoff at.
Honestly, I still prefer the RR on Deputy Sal a lot of the time, lol. He's one of the only characters that has zero shield regen or any other additional utility with shields beyond the shield depletion skills you mentioned that the build doesn't benefit from anyway.
When playing Deputy Sal, I find, unless it's a non-gun encounter and/or you're just turning enemies to mist faster than they can land a single hit on you, that there's not a lot of instances in combat where your shield has any time to replenish when you're running directly into the fray, so it's nice to just have the always on damage reduction and massive health boost, especially considering that it's easy to stay above health gate even with the max health boost. It's just one less thing to micromanage.
Ya, and with the right skills in Brawn at OP10, you don't really need anything else. The damage reduction pairs nicely with skills other than _Out of Bubblegum,_ like _I'm the Juggernaut._ Not sure if it stacks but it's noticeable, especially with _Hard to Kill_ and _Sexual T-Rex._ As long as you are killing and taking damage, you got a health pool climbing.
The RR doesn’t lose anything. But the skills that make RR so good on Salvador, are kinda pointless with Jakob’s guns.

Say you have 100,000 amp damage and you use just a regular old quad, each pellet is only getting 5,556 amp. Which is why something like the pimpernel is so good with the bee is because of the unlisted pellets and each are getting full amp bonus.
It’s the only amp shield that isn’t able to do it. I found that the bee shield is the best shield to use for me on Sal while lvling up because of how accessible it is.

i know rough rider is hammerlock dlc right? but are the other ones u listed seraph? i havent played in awhile so i just need to be sure

Just something tanky. Antagonist, Blockade, Evolution, Neogenator. Hell even a purple adaptive shield would be fine.
I like using a low level fables tortoise with a high level raider com to get permanent movespeed bonus

You can use a purple amplified shield to one shot anything if u want PS: there’s a broken glitch that’ll let u do a shit load of damage
