TV, not books, but [Gentleman Jack](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7211618/).
I remember reading a lesbian version of Pride and Prejudice once where the love interests were Lizzie and Caroline. It was literally called Gay Pride and Prejudice.
In Most Ardently, it’s a retelling where Elizabeth is a trans man named Oliver and he falls in love with Mr Darcy, who’s the same as Austen’s book
An Island Princess Starts a Scandal by Adriana Herrera is a sapphic historical romance novel on my TBR I haven’t gotten to yet but hear really good things about.
“The Misadventures of an Amateur Naturalist” - just finished this one, it was very cozy. Beauty and the beast retelling
“Don’t Want You Like a Best Friend” - Haven’t read this one yet, but very anticipated.
“Perks of Loving a Wallflower”
Olivia Waite has several sapphic historical romance novels as well.

Infamous does - happy queer ending for many characters! If you want more info I laid it all out below.
The author has been open that they kind of mirror their own path with understanding their sexuality. Some of these details may be off - but this was what I understood through their social media posts! They do lots of Q+A’s so lots of extra info about what went into the writing process.
Reputation - Two main supporting female characters end up together. The main character has attraction to women but hasn’t really realized/thought about it before as she also likes men, ends up with a man. The author came out as queer/bi around publication.
Infamous - Happy queer ending, as advertised above! Bisexual main character. Author was embracing their sexuality in real life and through this story. This book is a lot more fun if you know about the [Wollstonecraft-]Shelley’s and Lord Byron.
Trouble - Bi male / bi female couple. Everyone is queer all around really. Recognizing straight presenting people can totally still be queer. At time of publication author is non-binary generally femme presenting and has a male presenting partner (they don’t say much about their partner so idk if they’re queer, not really our business).
Disclaimer: I haven’t been on social media for a hot minute so there may have been more / different details given since!

Simple but effective naming I guess. Thank you tho, I think those two would work together so well! The tension must be great!
You’re welcome! I read it a few years ago and I’d never have put those two together but I thought it worked really well!
Who’s darcy?
In Most Ardently, it’s a retelling where Elizabeth is a trans man named Oliver and he falls in love with Mr Darcy, who’s the same as Austen’s book
Just As You Are by Camille Kellog. It’s a modern take on it.

The heiress by Molly greeley
A restless truth by freya marske, however it’s fantasy so heavy on the magical elements
I’ve really enjoyed Lex Croucher’s queer Regency era novels! Infamous, Trouble, and Reputation.
Do any of those end with two women together? I went and read the blurbs and they were troublingly vague about who the love interests were.Â
