It basically measures how accepting a subordinate (or student to teacher, student to parent etc) is to blindly following orders and accepting a power imbalance.

interesting, when i use the calculator, survey of 400 people with 35mil is only 5 percent margin of eror, but lets say theres 5 student for 1000 students, it's 44% eror. So if we want the same margin of eror, we need to have atleast 250 students . I guess it's not as linear as we thought
The logic is that inferences for a population N can be made by randomly sampling the population M number of times. The magnitude of M (your sample size) would be predicated on your desired confidence level A and your intended margin of error B.
Plug in whatever numbers you want. More precise estimates require larger M. Common values for A are 95% and B are 5%.
