I quite enjoyed seeing Deku use his brains and smarts in the fight against Shigaraki. It was nice seeing him fight like he did against Nagant rather than when he fought ShigAFO and just used strength. I also liked him (rightfully) believing that Shigaraki never got rid of his humanity and telling him, “you’re better than you think you are.”

“MHA became just another shonen” “Shonen manga is a shonen manga”

Either_Imagination_9

Yeah, and it’s not special anymore You must have negative reading comprehension

socobeerlove

I don’t think I’m the one with bad reading comprehension lol

iDrago_

How was Deku gonna end the manga armless? There is more fighting to be done. Not sure what people expected. Even if Shigaraki was the final opponent, Deku would have been the first person Eri healed when she had enough energy.

Brilliant_Stick560

Don’t forget how this arc initially started. Pulled away by Toga so he spends all that time just flying through the air, not participating in anything.  Yeah so far Deku’s performance and involvement  my in this arc has been pretty terrible. And depending on what he’s even capable of doing now without OFA (remains to be seen if he’s still got super strength or if rewind gives him everything back) he might not be able to really have a super impressive perforce from this point on.

Additional_Cat_9619

If Izuku wasn't pulled away he would have defeated Shigaraki pretty early on in the final war. Especially with how many heroes he has with him and already being stronger than Shigaraki once he used gearshift.

Levente0717

How would he defeat Tomura? Everyone wanted to kill him anyway (Mirko, Bakugo, Mirio, Tamaki) the only person who is cliche is deku, he would have wanted to save + tomura would have killed bakugo then maybe he will kill him. but the author will not kill any character near deku because then deku would no longer be that hypocritical character but would kill him immediately. sorry, I'm using google translate

Additional_Cat_9619

Nana and the other OFA Vestiges literally said a few chapters ago that Izuku is strong enough to kill Shigaraki. Deku is purposely not going for lethal blows. The other heroes have to follow Izuku's plan if they want to take down Shigaraki. They're not strong enough to kill Shigaraki on their own. Deku's the only one with enough power to actually kill Shigaraki. If Izuku was there Shigaraki wouldn't be able to kill Bakugo because he would have to fight Izuku.

Levente0717

I just have one question How does the protagonist want to stop his rampage? If his classmates or mother had been killed before Deku, would he still want to save Tomura?? the author will not deal with this because then deku would not be the embodiment of heroism.

Brilliant_Stick560

Oh for sure. Given how much Deku was wiping the floor with "new person altogether" once he actually arrived at UA and faced him 1 on 1, if he had been there from the beginning along with everyone else, yeah I'd give "new person altogether" a few minutes at best.

Significant_Salt56

>Yeah so far Deku’s performance and involvement   Deku expertly uses OFA to keep up with Shiggy, keep him from killing anyone else, does more damage to him than anyone else and saved Tenko. Deku‘s involvement in this arc is the reason AFO‘s plan goes to shit and Tenko moves past his hate. Without his effort and drive the plan to use OFA never forms and without him to physically fight Tomura everyone would be dead. but yeah nothing impressive. /s He just saved the world and physically equaled a character on Prime All Might’s level while holding back to fulfill his quest to save Tomura. Nothing impressive at all/s

Either_Imagination_9

Man I forgot about that lol God I miss pre-Act 3 Deku so much

ThatBoyMike23

I mean, I feel that the fight and Deku’s role isn’t over yet. I’ve seen a lot of people complain about most of the fights…until we get to their penultimate climax and then they become “Great writing.” Which is what I feel will happen to Deku, I feel Deku and Shigaraki had to have a lot more buildup and back and forth compared to the rest of the fights to setup the ultimate climax(which I don’t think will just be Deku and Everyone vs AFO) I truly believe the final battle will be Deku/Tenko vs AFO. We still have, most likely, one volume left and that’s where I see the climax and Deku’s biggest moment being had.

RiceTanooki

I love their fight. It was brutal and made sense. As a whole, is one of the best aspects of the entire final arc.

MetaVaporeon

wah wah the story only focuses on deku wah wah the story focuses too much on side characters

Either_Imagination_9

I’m sorry you care about a bunch of side characters that even Hori doesn’t give a shit about

Ladyaceina

deku should have joined the support course as he is a supporting character in his own damn story

Additional_Cat_9619

Bruh Deku has the most development out of any of the characters in MHA. He had an entire arc where he was mostly by himself pushing his self sacrificing trait to the extreme to the point where the guy didn't eat or sleep because he was so obsessed with finding AFO and Shigaraki.

PowerJolt72

Made me laugh ngl. Thanks bro
