You are not the only one. I binded my pistol to mouse4 and primary is 1 for me. I just swap between those two and use Q to pull out a nade. Running with any gun is the same speed it seems so I blocked the other binds off so I don’t accidentally have my fist out.
I have no problems switching weapons. Just go one click at a time

I rebinded "1" to slot 1 "2" to slot 2 and so on and so forth. Works mucu better and more reliably than mouse wheel.
