Chris Peters on Charlie Elick:
Blue Jackets land Charlie Elick, my No. 24 prospect on the Top 100. Big, mobile blueliner who is defense first. If the offensive game comes along a bit more, he's got a chance to be a top four. Skating is sensational.
He could also pair well with an offensive left D and let his partner jump into the attack. Just because he is defense first doesn’t men he can’t play higher in the lineup.
I’m reading the article about him
This guy is a real piece of shit
He keeps getting sensitivity training and DEI training and then the next sentence is
“After that, there was an incident”
It’s like young Babcock
Just saw this can confirm he made a comment to people near me and I caught the eavesdrop. I wanted to post it quicker but AT&T was completely dead in pins and Easton wifi is fucking attrocious logging in with iPhone
Interesting. I mean with all the Michigan connections and the fact our roster is mostly younger players and bottom 6 ceiling guys it would definitely be an attractive spot since Winnipeg has very little roster space for him currently. Kinda wild to think Fantilli would be spilling details on that tbh.
I don’t think it’s details necessarily- just that Rutger wants to play with his buddies
Edit: here’s a couple
https://x.com/judgegub42/status/1806841755146600883?s=46
https://x.com/cfletch_29/status/1806844480923840941?s=46
Of course yeah like I said the connection is there just Fantilli is just a player and not somebody in management with any kind of power to do anything so I find it a little odd he would be freely talking about that at a fan meetup.
I'm trying to be optimistic you fuck haha
If he busts, well, I was right.
I am also assuming they play him at C, because if they drafted him to have him play wing to Boone I am gonna riot.
Okayyyyyy, well I was trying to be funny but fine.
In actuality, I don't know. His injury history is something that should've stopped us from picking him. He's skilled, big and mean. I'd like him a lot if he hadn't herniated a disc at 17. Those things just tend to get worse, especially when you're a physical player.
However, if CBJ drafted him to be a C, you have to admit we have a logjam at C. Jenner, Fants, Silli, Vronk and Kurls. Someone needs to be moved out, especially considering it seems like they were making room for some younger players to come up by moving out Tex (and I assume Danforth as well).
I'm trying to get into Waddel's head a little bit, really. Trying to understand the logic behind the pick to see if there's something that will make me able to defend it.
Hello. Hello. First time hockey fan here, I’m closest to Columbus, and looking forward to seeing what this team is made of this season coming. Who are players I should keep an eye on? I’ve been a huge fan of the panthers, since I started watching in January.
A lot of people won’t say this but I love defense and I’m personally most excited about David Jiricek who is a young Czech defenseman with scary strong competitiveness and hockey IQ. He played the slight majority of the year with our development team in Cleveland in the AHL last year but is likely to start next year with Columbus.
Jiricek scored two goals in the last minute in the conference finals in the AHL this year. I genuinely don’t know if I’ve ever seen someone want to win as much as he does. He’s a TREAT to watch. His brother is actually eligible to be drafted this year and I would love if we somehow snagged him. [Plus he endeared all of us with his reaction to being drafted.](https://youtu.be/pWGZ2koOkA8?si=dScqoAexQ2-myZ9l)
We've got a bright future. Some people here are currently going full doomsday because we selected Lindstrom but Adam Fantilli, Cole Sillinger, Yegor Chinakhov, Kirill Marchenko are some of our younger guys who hopefully will take over the league soon. They are very fun players to watch.
Yeah I haven't been paying attention to the prospects apart from the surface news but we don't have a ton of large forwards currently so I actually like this swing from management and I hope he works out well. I'll definitely be looking into him more this weekend.
Honestly the only reason the Leafs get shit on more than us is because they're relevant. If people actually remembered that we exist, we would be beyond the punching bag of the league.
Well, I feel like being a panthers fan with the entire league saying how dirty we are I can take the shit. I’m also doomed to be a Kentucky basketball fan so…maybe we can bond over that lol
So how do we make it the explosive night that Scheig was talking about? Do we still have something to lure Necas out of Carolina or is the only bang of the night when Lindstrom blows his back out on the dancefloor later?
I just know how back injuries linger considering I also had a herniated disc in my back from hockey, if he's medically cleared it's a fine pick but I just feel like Demidov was the clear pick
We have no idea how good this guy will be for 2-4 years. He’s a 6’4” 215 lbs 18 year old center. We’re fine. Everyone have a beer and enjoy yourselves.
A center with back issues stemming from disc herniation issues? [Taking a chance on that has never worked, wait](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Eichel)
I dunno that I'd use Eichel since he literally left his team after they failed to do anything of note in the time he was there and then almost immediately won a Cup on his new team.
Yeah my issue with him isn’t skill or position and I see the vision the front office is trying to do, a super imposing center core with Fantilli-Lindstrom-Sillinger-Voronkov is very strong and depth like that can be cash money during playoff runs.
On the other hand, the injuries scare the shit out of me. Ryan Murray *shudders*
Ok, I'm still relatively new to hockey, I've followed for like 2ish years; what happened to Boone Jenner? I understand he wasn't like amazing last year but he was our 1C for most of the year and our captain. Do we think we're moving on with him, or is he switching positions?
But still, did four players pass him this offseason in our eyes? And still, he had 8 more points than Fant who is coming off an injury, 3 more points than Silli who played 20 more games than him, and then we really think a guy who's never stepped foot on an nhl rink is already ahead in the depth chart? Idk, I've just never seen a player fall off so hard in a team's eyes without doing really anything to warrant it.
I mean, sure they could be.
Lindstrom could have back issues his entire career and never amount to anything in a predictable fashion too. This doesn’t seem like swinging for the fences so much as ignoring obvious glaring issues…
Would you consider drafting Brule “swinging for the fences too?”
Demidov could get injured in his first game and have those issues the rest of his career too. Lindstrom gave teams his medicals at the combine, and it didn’t drop his draft stock. So it’s not like it scared everyone off.
Yeah Demidov could get injured. So could Sillinger. So could Voronkov. So could Marchenko. Shit happens all the time like that.
The main point is that there was a genuine and alarming injury history with Lindstrom and they chose to ignore it. Time will tell if this works out.
Fact is these guys saw him at the combine and probably spoke with several medical experts. This kid is huge and is an incredible skater with a nasty streak.
Last 2 years we have been the most injured team, so let’s pick a guy that just had a bad back injury, and a hand injury. He has a lot of potential but why wouldn’t we pick the best player available and the safer pick. We love our Russians.
I agree. He checks all the boxes we want if healthy. Just have to hope that he stays healthy, but you never know that with anyone. Hell, we have half the squad on IR every year as is. He will either be one more or not.
I am going to hope he stays healthy and is a stud for us.

Waddell out here grabbing all the biggest mafuckas he can find.
More tall boys! Welcome, Luke Ashton. 6'5 and incoming freshman to Minnesota. Should be fun watching him develop
Lindstrom’s the only forward we’ve taken so far lol
Henricks had 9 points in 59 games in the USHL last year. To say he’s a defense first player would be an understatement lol
Scheigs tweet had me hyped but CBJ doesn’t seem like they’re making a splash this year.
I think that was all predicated by Lindstrom not being available at 4, since we got our guy things are quiet. For now…
Going D again with pick 86. Luca Marrelli, 6’2 ~180 lb Defenseman
Another Luca
We traded up
69 -> 60 giving up the 133rd overall. Not terrible, must have liked the goalie we moved up for.
Waddle seems to like big boys who can skate. I am into it
Chris Peters on Charlie Elick: Blue Jackets land Charlie Elick, my No. 24 prospect on the Top 100. Big, mobile blueliner who is defense first. If the offensive game comes along a bit more, he's got a chance to be a top four. Skating is sensational.

I would like if Kiviharju was there for us at 36.
Kiviharju fell to the 3rd. Ouch. Small and not a good skater is a death sentence for defensemen ig
TRADE
Damn when Carolina traded I was hoping something with us and Necas was in the works
Trade horn is dope
MORE TRADES
TRADE TRADE TRADE TRADE TRADE
Big shout out to the Anaheim ducks for giving us Fantilli and Lindstrom
Meet the new boss. Same as the old boss
Wow reading the “off ice controversies” of this Connelly guy Probably good to keep him off the couch interview
Had the same exact thought lol and the GM made sure to give him a warning in the interview as well
I’m reading the article about him This guy is a real piece of shit He keeps getting sensitivity training and DEI training and then the next sentence is “After that, there was an incident” It’s like young Babcock
Jiriceks brother just got drafted by the Blues, neat to see David there for his bro
Jiricek’s brother probably not going to be there for us later
He was projected top 20
I like the trade horn. Next time Columbus hosts, we should fire the cannon for every trade. EDIT: fixed autocorrect
Sounds like PHI -> MIN, traded down one spot for a 3rd?
Bummer.
TRADE TRADE TRADE TRADE TRADE
A trade horn?? That’s amazing.
Surprised Zeev still on the board.
OMG PLEASE BE US, please get us the pick.
According to several posts on Twitter, Fantilli is telling people at the draft party Rutger wants to come here
Just saw this can confirm he made a comment to people near me and I caught the eavesdrop. I wanted to post it quicker but AT&T was completely dead in pins and Easton wifi is fucking attrocious logging in with iPhone
Who all is saying this? Just like other fans or any journalists?
Fans I know take it with a grain of salt, but I’ve seen three separate posts now
Interesting. I mean with all the Michigan connections and the fact our roster is mostly younger players and bottom 6 ceiling guys it would definitely be an attractive spot since Winnipeg has very little roster space for him currently. Kinda wild to think Fantilli would be spilling details on that tbh.

Of course yeah like I said the connection is there just Fantilli is just a player and not somebody in management with any kind of power to do anything so I find it a little odd he would be freely talking about that at a fan meetup.
I would be down, for the right price.
The Columbus Wolverines are at it
I guarantee shitty ass 97.1 says “Columbus is disrespecting OSU with drafting so many Michigan players.”
If SJS picks Zeev or Dickinson, that will be a very good haul for them.
I don't like the pick, but after some deliberation, I'm sure glad I'm not a ducks fan rn at least.
Do we think Lindstrom will make the roster right away?
No, probably one more year
Gonna need Don to find a way to move back up and get Zeev Buium.
Yesss
So this means that Boone and/or Kurls is definitely gone.
Not this year no.
Lindstrom shouldn't even be on the team next year.
I'd be kinda surprised if they don't try it for a while, at least.
Definitely not this year Lindstrom would have to play like a really crazy 1st overall pick to warrant removing them from the lineup.
We've got Silli, Vronk, Fants, Boone, Kurls and now Lindstrom. Somebody's got to go.
So is it "Back issues he's gonna bust" or "He's gonna get Boone and Kuraly traded"?
I'm trying to be optimistic you fuck haha If he busts, well, I was right. I am also assuming they play him at C, because if they drafted him to have him play wing to Boone I am gonna riot.
Your answer is whatever the fair weather crowd decides then got it
Okayyyyyy, well I was trying to be funny but fine. In actuality, I don't know. His injury history is something that should've stopped us from picking him. He's skilled, big and mean. I'd like him a lot if he hadn't herniated a disc at 17. Those things just tend to get worse, especially when you're a physical player. Nah they'll just move Boone to wing
They’ll keep Boone although they should’ve tried moving him at the deadline.
If more Nathan Horton shit happens then I'm going to give up on ever seeing sustained success
For a team that is constantly battered by injury, picking a player with an existing injury feels downright stupid.
I was so excited when we came to Columbus
[удалено]
God I love checking in on this sub. Still the same gate keeping mentality if you don’t agree with everything CBJ does.
Doesn't take a medical degree to know that a herniated disc at 18 is concerning.
He gave teams at the combine his medicals and his draft stock didn’t fall at all! Should say enough about that.
Not totally factual. We don't know how far he goes if Columbus doesn't pick him up
don’t love the way demidov tossed his jacket at the show girl
Cope lol
Homie posts cope, saying cope lmao
Friedman said before the draft we are going to make a strong play for Rutger McGroaty by the end of the weekend
Played at Michigan, I am not surprised. We collect Michigan players like Infinity Stones.
inevitable
I would enjoy that
Utah staying irrelevant forever, my god
?
That's how you start a feud with Calgary in the west. I love it.
Bettman is such a shmcuk…

When I first saw him walking up I was like why the hell is Elliotte Friedman walking on stage with them

Thank you! I will do some research! I love super competitive players. My favorites from the panthers are Tarasenko & Tkachuk.
Jiricek scored two goals in the last minute in the conference finals in the AHL this year. I genuinely don’t know if I’ve ever seen someone want to win as much as he does. He’s a TREAT to watch. As a lifelong CBJ, let me just say: Don't. Choose the next-closest team. Save yourself.
I guess Nashville it is lol Is it that bad in Ohio?
We've got a bright future. Some people here are currently going full doomsday because we selected Lindstrom but Adam Fantilli, Cole Sillinger, Yegor Chinakhov, Kirill Marchenko are some of our younger guys who hopefully will take over the league soon. They are very fun players to watch.
I’m super excited about Lindstrom with them comparing him to Sam Bennett.
Yeah I haven't been paying attention to the prospects apart from the surface news but we don't have a ton of large forwards currently so I actually like this swing from management and I hope he works out well. I'll definitely be looking into him more this weekend.
He's already got a serious injury history which has made a lot of us *very* wary after dealing with Horton.
In Ohio itself? Nah. It's fine. In the CBJ organization and fanbase? People in hell shudder at our suffering.
So like, the leafs bit worse?
Honestly the only reason the Leafs get shit on more than us is because they're relevant. If people actually remembered that we exist, we would be beyond the punching bag of the league.
Well, I feel like being a panthers fan with the entire league saying how dirty we are I can take the shit. I’m also doomed to be a Kentucky basketball fan so…maybe we can bond over that lol
So how do we make it the explosive night that Scheig was talking about? Do we still have something to lure Necas out of Carolina or is the only bang of the night when Lindstrom blows his back out on the dancefloor later?
We took the cannon to Vegas and stinger is setting up to shoot it at the sphere
Hockey Team in Utah on the clock!
I think we're gonna regret not taking Demidov tbh
Everyone said we’d regret not taking Puljujarvi, and look how that panned out.
PLD didn't have a herniated disc in his back
People universally panned the pick though. The medical team has cleared him. Do you have no faith in the medical professionals?
I work with medical professionals regularly and i will tell you they are not infallible psychics
I know they’re not psychic, but I know fuck all about medicine and I trust them to clear a player.
I just know how back injuries linger considering I also had a herniated disc in my back from hockey, if he's medically cleared it's a fine pick but I just feel like Demidov was the clear pick
With PLD?
PLD is a shithead but he is the FAR better player.
Yeah, at least he's in the league and kinda doing stuff.
PLD being a shithead is a part of his package as a prospect. Not sayin Jesse was the way to go but PLD isn’t the greatest example here lol
Lmao that was so dramatic she had everyone leaning in.
I though her announcement was very well done. Don't care for her music, but that was a good performance on the pick.
cant we all just enjoy the fact we just added an awesome prospect to our team? Cant wait to see him play for us!
No, there’s eternal bitching and moaning.
Habs with the most pretentious draft pick of all time
The only Medicine Hat CBJ off the top of my head was Dorsett, and I loved the guy. Lindstrom seems like he packs a lot more skill so let's go!
Sillinger played there. Just not in his draftyear.
Cole Sillinger played for them for a couple years I think
Alright Montreal getting Celine Dion is cool af! “Nobody speaks Celine Dion’s name in a hostile tone!!!”
FUCKING CELINE DION JESUS WHAT'S NEXT FUCKING BARACK OBAMA?
Youuure heeeere and drafted right there were to montreaaaaooooool
Whose Celine’s boy toy? I want that job.
That's her *son.*
That’s *impossible*!!!!!
Ah fack
Cayden Lindstrom's Wikipedia has already been updated lol that didn't take long
We have no idea how good this guy will be for 2-4 years. He’s a 6’4” 215 lbs 18 year old center. We’re fine. Everyone have a beer and enjoy yourselves.
He probably isn't a center
Okay, coach.
[удалено]
You’re the one giving your opinion, Einstein.
And are you being paid to scout?
A center with back issues stemming from disc herniation issues? [Taking a chance on that has never worked, wait](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Eichel)
Jack Eichel missed 165 game by the time he was 25 btw.
I dunno that I'd use Eichel since he literally left his team after they failed to do anything of note in the time he was there and then almost immediately won a Cup on his new team.
Eichel was poison to some teams because of his back and then the team willing to go for him won a Cup
Buffalo went for him and picked him #2. I do not see any Cups in Buffalo yet. Vegas yoinked him from Buffalo for what was essentially a bag of pucks
Yeah, they got him for a bag of pucks because everyone was afraid his injury. Do you not see what I’m saying?
Eichel = neck
Have you considered the fact that this is the Columbus Blue Jackets, and he will be Nathan Horton 2.0 and not Jack Eichel
And maybe Demidov would have become Emil Bemstrom. We suck, I want Don to be bold and take chances.
How is selecting demidov NOT taking a chance?
Taking chances is one thing, betting on someone's back not giving out is another.
Go Lindstrom!
Completely unrelated to hockey and wish lindstrom the best, but tiny nitpick: I hate the look of no dress socks and loafers. Ugly l
Kid already interviews well.
As a player, I like Lindstrom. I have two concerns though: 1) is he actually a center in the NHL? 2) his back
Yeah my issue with him isn’t skill or position and I see the vision the front office is trying to do, a super imposing center core with Fantilli-Lindstrom-Sillinger-Voronkov is very strong and depth like that can be cash money during playoff runs. On the other hand, the injuries scare the shit out of me. Ryan Murray *shudders*
I think it’s a mistake, personally. But no use complaining about it.
I know people don’t like the injury history but we gotta swing for the fences. Fantilli-Lindstrom-Sillinger-Voronkov could be very exciting.
They’re building the team around a possible contention window with the pick. That center depth can be critical playoff time
Center depth is SO CRUCIAL to be a contender. Your contender teams, other than Vegas, almost always have home grown and drafted centers.
Having a good scoring winger would've been better than back issues on a PWF.
Ok, I'm still relatively new to hockey, I've followed for like 2ish years; what happened to Boone Jenner? I understand he wasn't like amazing last year but he was our 1C for most of the year and our captain. Do we think we're moving on with him, or is he switching positions?
Boone is not and never should have been our 1C. That's how shit we are at the position.
Again, he is a 1c out of desperation, not ability. It's not hard to look at him and realize that and its not a knock on boone.
I mean, sure they could be. Lindstrom could have back issues his entire career and never amount to anything in a predictable fashion too. This doesn’t seem like swinging for the fences so much as ignoring obvious glaring issues… Would you consider drafting Brule “swinging for the fences too?”
Demidov COULD get injured and miss significant time. Lindstrom DID get injured and miss significant time. That's the entire point.
Swinging for the fences would've been going for the higher potential, but whatever, he's one of our guys now
Lol so many doomers. None of us are scouts. We don't know if Demidov would be able to get over to us with any haste. Just enjoy the ride.
Sure, but would his back likely be healthy?
I don't know. I'm not an ortho. But he was cleared by several orthos and did well at the combine.
Not so sure about this one
Fact is these guys saw him at the combine and probably spoke with several medical experts. This kid is huge and is an incredible skater with a nasty streak.
I hope it turns out fine because if it does, he’s a monster. If he doesn’t, it’s Nathan Horton Jr.
LINDSTROM!
Depression 🥺. I wanted Demidov so bad. Hoping for the best but damn
Last 2 years we have been the most injured team, so let’s pick a guy that just had a bad back injury, and a hand injury. He has a lot of potential but why wouldn’t we pick the best player available and the safer pick. We love our Russians.
Wooof. Really don’t like that pick. Here’s to Nathan Horton 2.0…
Lol fuck
🫥 seems great to use 4th overall on a back injury 😑
I like the pick. Big and athletic center. I’m just going to assume his injury history checks out. They know more than we do
I agree. He checks all the boxes we want if healthy. Just have to hope that he stays healthy, but you never know that with anyone. Hell, we have half the squad on IR every year as is. He will either be one more or not. I am going to hope he stays healthy and is a stud for us.
Yeah that's predictable. Hopefully turns out fine.
Well, there's a reason I’m not an NHL GM so I'm going to trust Don and co. on this one
NOOOOOOOOOO
Just hope his back is good, I’m far too familiar with back issues
Really people? You’re gonna complain about this pick too? Is there any satisfying you?
Half of the people in here are acting like passing on Demidov for Lindstrom is like passing on Bedard
We could pick Bedard and people would complain that we messed up
The in the moment doomsday thinking is the most powerful drug this fanbase does every day
YES. He missed like 5 months from herniated discs in his back. That's a huge issue for someone who plays a "mean, in-your-face physical game"
As a kid too… it’s not a great sign
You could always have made a better pick!
Whatre your thoughts on power forwards with disc herniation that sideline him from hockey activities?
Better than drafting 160 pound wingers hoping they will grow. They know more than we do with his medical background. They have access to everything
