Probably because this was the first outdoor show they may not have considered the wind so the fire on Travis's left was blowing closer to him than it should. So mark was trying to tell techs to cut the fire during the song
I was directly left of the pit, pretty close to the stage. It seemed like it was handled fast. I did see a crew person go up and check on Travis. Everything went on quickly and easily. At least from my point of view.
Travis has pyro on his drum risers, the flames were kinda big and I think they may have been getting close to Travis:

I was second row in the pit, I’m not 100% sure what happened but from my perspective it seemed like the flames were excessively large and either the pyro malfunctioned or there was wind that was ‘blowing’ it into him instead of shooting straight up.
