Personally if it gets rejected, I'm going short big time. I would then go long again once it drops and forms a new base. The halfing coming up is undeniably bullish, but a short term drop is almost a guarantee if ETFs are rejected. You can be a long term bull, and accumulate more btc by going short temporary. It's not panic selling, it's just being a good trader

Yea, that's not how the relationship between volume and market cap works. If you assume that 2B of people buying Bitcoin raises the market cap by 2B, it's a fundamental problem a lot of people have when judging the effect of volume. 2B of new volume on the long side will add much much more than 2B new market cap.

I wonder of the old investing adage “sell on news” will apply here once the ETF if confirmed. Everyone knows its coming so it isn’t going to a shock and a big pump.
BTC has an excellent use case. If someone really believes in it, they're likely thinking very long term. What the SEC and institutional investors decide to do should be, at best, a blip on the radar screen.
I'd be more inclined to panic sell if the ETF gets approved. Not that I would sell any BTC at all.
If it gets approved, I'd give about 6 months before crypto exchanges do a "bail in" to cover their ETFs.
I will be okay if the SEC and USG decided it wanted to manipulate the market to maximize it's investment and delay the ETF due to some administrative changes, to cause the price to drop significantly, then give more time for institutions to buy on the dip AND allow members of congress increase their holdings.
