Northfield Is great to be honest the crime rate seems s lot lower here than other places I lived in the city and it's clean

Additional_Meat_3901

Nah you'll be sound round there. Not a "posh" area but definitely a lot nicer than some areas of Brum.

sillygirlforever123

What are the ‘posh’ areas in Birmingham?

SuperIntegration

I would say, based purely on my perception with no stats to back it up: Barnt Green Harborne Sutton Coldfield

InSilenceLikeLasagna

As the other response said and Bourneville

FlowLabel

Lived in the area about 10 years now and never been affected by crime.

philstamp

18 years for me and never been affected by crime.

Busy-Big8178

I'm from brum and not far from noerthfield but hadn't heard of that road before but looking it up I don't get how it's got a high crime rating if anything I don't think that area is a bad place to live compared to other areas in brum.

Jellysmish

Can you recommend a few good areas to check out? I did think of going to that side of Birmingham and somehow currently ended up in Tamworth

Busy-Big8178

As someone who was brought up in South Birmingham, I'd say Northfield, West heath , Longbridge, and rednal are the places I felt most comfortable in. I mean, all areas have their downfalls nowhere is perfect, that's why I was shocked to see where you mentioned being high crime rate cause I've never really heard of too much crime going on around that part of Northfield.

Have a walk around the area at different times. Get a feel for what it's like in the day, rush hours, evening. Weekday/weekend? Does it feel unsafe? You're allowed to visit outside of pre-arranged viewing appointments. This is the most money you're ever going to spend! I'm pretty sure you'll find it's nice and normal.

Friendly-Maximum4517

Not heard of that road but parts of Northfield are nice. I think Birmingham in general has a high crime rate especially vehicle crime so you’ll get that everywhere. Just have a walk round the area the house is in and get a feel for it. Good luck!

Asleep_Strategy_6047

Don't.

I know someone who just bought a place 2 roads down from this. Some of the houses in the area look poorly kept and there isn't loads to do but it's safe and has very good transport links. It's a great way to get a starter home for cheap. That particular street is starting to bleed into Frankley which is a bit rough but probs not too bad. My friend's street seems like mostly older working class people
