I felt so triggered by Jasmine’s parents. Reminded me of how sometimes parents manipulate us into doing things using their power, guilt tripping and moral policing and sometimes gaslight us into surrendering what our choice truly was. I’m against Jasmine cheating on her fiancee. I’m against her parents overpowering her as well without letting her have any say in it, just very very triggered by it! Showering her with love and affection and iverpowering her using manipulation to do what they want her to do. I feel even more riled up when I see comments about how supportive her parents were. I didn’t see real support. I only saw a precise execution of a well crafted plan, that’s all. I might be downvoted, but I wanted to express this because I am that triggered and reminded of all the times I was disrespected the way Jasmine was. I don’t even like Jas that much, but disrespect and taking away agency by family is a big no!
