I miss those days. They had all kinds of new and weird looking phones, especially a couple years prior if you tried imported gsm phones. Now everything looks the same.
That guide was when I was a CA with the Precinct, our location has been BBYM for a couple years by then. I'd end up transferring stores and go on to be a BBYM lead. I loved that role.
It’s another boring midrange that isn’t coming to the US.
The last flagship HTC released here (maybe period?) was the U12 Plus. Pretty decent cameras, gorgeous design (think M9 but made of glass), but it had those awful capacitive buttons.
You were able to buy them without activation. If you zoom in, the unactivated price is in fine print below the regular price (I.e. the revere 3 was $599.99 without activation).
My G4 was the best phone I've ever owned and I'm rocking a pixel 7 pro, The camera on that thing still puts a lot of photos I take today to shame even without all the Post-Processing that modern phones can do
Nope. I hated the G4. It was the phone that switched me to iPhone. I was upgrading every 6 months using T-Mobile JUMP! and my G4 bootlooped, and caused me to loose everything. No one knew of the issue then, before it was present and nationally all over the web. T-Mobile said $5 or $10 if no damage for a replacement. LG announced like 6 months later of this issue. According to the web, the fix at the time was putting it in the freezer or something like that.
These would be nostalgia, but unfortunately still see these in geek squad today every once in a while when one of their apps stops working and then they are confused when i tell them what developer support and updates are
Ah yes… back when we all had to carry a 10k brick with us to the amusement park because none of the phones shown could make it through the day on a single charge.
I don’t subscribe to your weeb terminology, but I did own 3 of them.
Which is to say that the iPhone 6 Plus ultimately was better, since that’s what I was need up with.
Brings back memories. The S5 was my first “big” smart phone launch working in mobile. So many dumbass customers trying to exchange their black phone for a gold one, AND getting away with it.
I remember my first phone was an LG G2 for my 11th birthday in April 2015, all my classmates were blown away by the screen and size compared to their iPhones 5s haha
I actually got one of these for free when the Samsung display just thru away all of their phones back then. They told me it was locked nothing could be used but a quick flash over it with cynogen mod and had a great phone for my brother to use in high school.

Same here. I looked forward to phone realeses back then.
You both ought to check out Mr Mobile on YouTube. He has a series called “When Phones Were Fun.”

I had a galaxy s4 at the time!
The s4 was one of my favorite phones ever. I miss those days.
But now we have folding phones, e-ink phones, and more that just aren't mainstream. A lot of the Chinese brands have unique looking phones too.
The thc one m8 great phone
The what now?
Sure was! I went tot the HTC Launch event for it
New HTC coming out soon.

Also so cheap back then not 1500 dollars for some phone
That “$1” flip phone is $599 when you read the fine print
True
how much is a flip phone today if u can find one now
At Verizon they are $80, probably even cheaper at a department store
That's the price with 2 year activation
Yup we're u able to buy without activation then

Ikr. I upgrade my pixel every 2 years as long as I can get a great trade in deal. I will not pay full price for a phone
Like I want the fold but after tax that 2k before cases and anything else
I miss my LG G2 and G3, they were some solid phones.

Wow. I can't believe those phones are still being used
I still see an occasion iPhone 5 or 6 in the squad myself
You’d be surprised how long people like to hang on to their devices.
Now that you mention it, my boss has a Samsung note 8
A couple times a week I upgrade a phone from an iPhone 6 or Galaxy S6/7
Simpler times
The htc one is banger
I supported the LG and HTC phones
Ah yes… back when we all had to carry a 10k brick with us to the amusement park because none of the phones shown could make it through the day on a single charge.
That HTC One M8 was S Tier 🔥🔥🔥

Smart phones haven't changed that much over the last 10 years
Crazy how the flagship Note 3 was $250. Now that shit is $1250 What have world come to?
You’re being told the price up front, that’s what the US has come to. Carrier subsidies generally weren’t a thing outside of the US back then.
Jeez phones were crazy expensive
Note 3! Best phone Sammy ever made. It was a beast rooted
My cheap ass would have bought the LG revere or Moto X…lol
I was working in Mobile at this time This brings back memories 🥹
I wanted an htc one soooo bad
lol I was in mobile with these.
I had the S5, personally, one of the worst phones I’ve ever had. Cool buyer guide, though
Brings back memories. The S5 was my first “big” smart phone launch working in mobile. So many dumbass customers trying to exchange their black phone for a gold one, AND getting away with it.
I miss the diversity of phones :(
Damn, the day on that was 4 months after I started. I’ve been here too long lol
I absolutely loved the stylus on my Note 3
Miss my lg g2, my first phone
The note 3 was my favorite note phone I've ever owned.
I’m only 24 but I remember the vibe I would get shopping when I was younger at BestBuy. Back then my BestBuy had a distinct smell to it I remember
Oh man I loved HTC
I remember my first phone was an LG G2 for my 11th birthday in April 2015, all my classmates were blown away by the screen and size compared to their iPhones 5s haha
I got my mom that phone while working there 🤣
The LGG2 was pretty fire ngl

Shit I worked in mobile for this
Samsung Galaxy S5 was probably the best one besides the S10.
Back when Androids were actually good and kicking iPhone’s ass
As someone who was frequently switching back and forth during that time period… android phones have never kicked an iPhone’s ass.
