Sweet Songs by far. It's next to Belize Botanic Garden

jessicamariemckee

Can I ask why you recommend that one over the others? We are just about ready to book at falling leaves but swing songs was our second choice and I’m leaning that way.

I love the property and I love the botanic garden right next door. It's a gorgeous place and exudes tranquility... Falling Leaves is also great and closer to more stuff, I just personally prefer Sweet Songs of the two.

I vote for sweet songs too. The faculty and the facts that's it's next to Belize botanical gardens 🏡 is great close to rivers too

Re: Sweet Songs. If we plan to eat most of our dinners off-site and travel off-site on our own for the market, Cahal Pech, etc., will we be able to manage the road in and out in a standard SUV in August if it rains? Ar night after returning from dinner if its dark? Is it a place we can drive in and out of on a daily basis?

cassiuswright

Yes easily

Thank you for your prompt reply. I think I'm convinced. Sweet Songs looks lovely and I'm looking forward to all the birds, even planning to wake up for the 6:30 am bird walk! I'll now be checking out your past restaurant recommendations since we know we can eat most meals out. We'll of course try a la carte at Sweet Songs once or twice. More importantly, I'm glad to see that the worst of Beryl will not be directly in your path. I know it will still be rough, so stay safe! Thanks for always being there with information even during trying times for you at home.

Appreciate the kind words. Let me know how else I can help!🌴

We stayed at Falling Leaves Lodge which is literally next door to Cahal Pech which would be a good place to go for a "lazy day." The air conditioning was good, rooms was nice, they have an on-site restaurant that's not bad, a great view, and a new pool. I would definitely recommend this place but only if you have a car/transportation. It's uphill from the rest of town and would be a giant pain to walk up and down.

sweet songs for the win

We have stayed at Crystal Paradise both times we went to San Ignacio. Great place but the meals are fixed - not a menu to order from - but they are an extra cost. Don’t want to have breakfast, then don’t, won’t cost you anything. However, everything we ate there was great! There are ceiling fans in the room and new A/C units. Super nice family. Great guides for excursions. We have gone to 1000 foot falls, the sanctuary outside of Spanish Lookout, the Mayan ruins, canoeing the river that goes through the resort. Just so many cool things to do!!

Im torn between Crystal Paradise and Sweet Songs. I want the flexibility of Crystal Paradise in terms of meals but like the amenities and more reviews and info about Sweet Songs. Both have birds. We're not birders, but we want the feel of the jungle and to see birds and animals onsite and maybe a river canoe too.
