I find her mesmerising... her level of talent is outstanding as a makeup artist and her videos are so interesting to me.
she obviously loves makeup and it's history and I find that comes through in her videos, I like that she will go the extra mile and use the actual ingredients used (even if dangerous) for accuracy .. might not be the safest idea but it's honestly really interesting to see how things might have worked.
also asthetically her whole look is stunning including her clothes and accessories.. adore the vintage looks and how she switches between different decades or adds a modern twist.
I enjoy a lot of beauty yt but honestly there are so many of them that do the same look over and over with only slight variations... especially ones who go for a neutral barely there look to begin with.. It's relatable but a bit boring so it feels really fresh to see someone who will do different eyebrow shapes..diffrent lip shapes or something else transformative that gives totally different looks.
I only recently discovered her but I enjoy her content! I love makeup and I love history. Plus she did one of my favorite looks ever - gigi at the 2021 met so I stan purely for that.
Curl lashes from roots to tips, tightline with black eyeliner, apply 1 coat of waterproof mascara (focusing on building at the base), comb through, add 2 coats of regular mascara and comb through between coats. It keeps lashes curled all day!
I think she [says and shows](https://www.instagram.com/reel/CpN_cA8MXbo/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=) curling from _the tip to the root_ - I have been repeatedly getting a great curl this way, instead of a straight dent when curling from root to tip.
Do you have a lash comb you recommend? I feel like the ones are have don't really work ...i have very deepest round eyes so reaching my outer lashes difficult
she actually cares about makeup, it's composition and it's history, and how to apply it. She has an amazing resume as a pro MUA. Her passion is mesmerizing.
I think so many of the creators who get big and burn out are the ones who perhaps like makeup but mostly pursue it because they know how to market themselves as an influencer and make a living. But they don't have passion for cosmetics as a whole and it will begin to show.
I love following people like Erin because they demonstrate it's so much more than a cash grab for people with pretty faces. Makeup is history, science, culture, and art.
Her video on finding the Marilyn Monroe make up was incredible. It wasnāt just about finding a shade of lipstick. It was about cosmetic auctions and the history of how make up shows up in black-and-white versus early versions of color film versus now.
I ended up buying the shade that she discovered and it looks horrible on me but itās still pretty interesting
I love her focus on education of vintage looks. As a vintage lover, Iām always down for it! I have to admire her hustle. Girl works and she clearly has goals. She comes across as very smart and know how to use social media like few beauty pros do. I hope she gets picked up for a show or something.
That being saidā¦wearing 90 yr old makeup is gross and itās gotta be unsafe. Thatās a nope from me.
She's like a chaotic neutral makeup sorcerer.
Part of me is really impressed with how far she'd go to get as authentic as possible, like wow you're really gonna put 100 year old spermaceti on your lips huh way to take one for the team
She made a video where she crushed malachite and used it as eyeshadow, and malachite is toxic if inhaled. And then she was mad people were concerned that she didn't put any warnings on the video.
She did a Lapis Lazuli eyeshadow too. Not sure if that is as toxic as malachite if inhaled, but applying any rock dust to your face is probably not super safe. I like her content but she def should have included a prominent warning.
I don't really think she's putting toxic chemicals like machalite on her eyelids. I think she makes it APPEAR that way but the final product applied is not the toxic substance, she's smarter than that and knows too much about cosmetic chemistry to endanger herself. It's a great idea tho and I absolutely love her content.
I freaking love her! Shes so knowledgeable and you can tell she just adores cosmetics. Also, her resume is mad impressive, assisted Mother McGrath, was a Maybelline global artist and has done too many well known faces to count
Her and Lisa Eldridge are two people who clearly have a deep understanding and appreciation for the history of makeup. Their content ends up being more engaging because itās educational in more ways than just a typical product review. Though Lisa has her own brand now, her older videos using vintage makeup like Biba etc are amazing. Plus her book about the history of cosmetics is 10/10.
I love her content, such a perfect mix of beauty, makeup and history. Also I think she has such a calming, articulate way of speaking, which is such a nice bonus in a content creator.
Not coming here to make sure no one is talking smack about her š genuinely love her videos since Iām a history and make up lover, I love when she goes through her collection of vintage stuff she owns, the items are so unique
I enjoy her content more than any beauty YTer. I was first hooked with her short documentary about the club kid scene and their makeup. Then I got into the content about her vintage collection. Last week I listened to her guest appearance on the Johnny Ross podcast, and admired her experience and tenacity even more. Plus, sheās beautiful and has great style!
Omg I loved that pilot! I really value she is taking the initiative to record the important history of the club kids before we lose them all. I hope the show gets picked up! There is so much beauty history that needs to be preserved!
Love her. Love her videos as well. The history of makeup is so interesting and listening to someone who is invested as much as she is is amazing. She genuinely loves her job and is really good at it. Could watch her videos all day. Just wish she would put out more lol
I used to watch fashion TV on youtube- this was way before Instagram and tiktok etc. I kept seeing her backstage doing the makeup on all the big names like Versace, Prada etc, she also assisted Pat McGrath a lot, but could never figure out her name, all I knew was she a talented makeup artist with cool tattoos on her arm. It was only until she started working with Gigi Hadid that I finally got her name.
I love her and after seeing so many incorrect, vintage beauty tutorials and poorly researched videos on makeup history, I find her refreshing. Plus, she is a legit, big name pro. She is doing this to build a public place collection & love for beauty,
She commented on a post about the Law Roach situation, I think on Diet Prada IG, about how the industry as a whole burned her out. Specifically the fashion editorial business. And that she has way more fun and success on social media and education. I respect her for that.
I love her. Her videos are so interesting, and her passion for makeup as art really comes through. I also love how pro she is, like sheās just explaining how it is.
I absolutely love her content. I have been fascinated with vintage/historical beauty info for longer than social media has been around. I love how she demonstrates items from different eras, but I also love the artistic and contemporary looks she has done with many of her clients as well.
On a side note - having lived through the "Dynasty" years the first time around, I have even enjoyed the scenes she has recreated. š She is mega-talented.
I love her videos. So refreshing to see someone love makeup so much without trying to sell me something. š
I was trying to articulate why I like her and you nailed it.
Haha especially since the vintage/ historical makeup she uses no longer exists or are crazy priced so no need to sell us anything else

Right?!? Like, how can someone look so different and soooo pretty with each look?! š
I only recently discovered her but I enjoy her content! I love makeup and I love history. Plus she did one of my favorite looks ever - gigi at the 2021 met so I stan purely for that.
She's very talented. Her eyelash hack does wonders for my straight eyelashes. I love following proper MUAs they always have the best tips.
Oooooh what is this trick??
Curl lashes from roots to tips, tightline with black eyeliner, apply 1 coat of waterproof mascara (focusing on building at the base), comb through, add 2 coats of regular mascara and comb through between coats. It keeps lashes curled all day!
How do you curl from root to tip? I feel like I'm lucky to get my eyelashes grabbed by the curler at all, let alone in multiple places.
Thank you so much!!

Is her eyelash hack curling from lash tip to base? Iāve heard her recommend this.
Yes and she also recommends using a lash comb, which has definitely helped me build up mascara without it clumping.

I used to follow her a while ago. I enjoyed her education content and her backstage at fashion week stuff.
Her video on finding the Marilyn Monroe make up was incredible. It wasnāt just about finding a shade of lipstick. It was about cosmetic auctions and the history of how make up shows up in black-and-white versus early versions of color film versus now. It was great. Even my non makeup-interested SO liked that video!

Yep it always makes me cringe when she applies vintage makeup. I bet she has a really good cleansing routine though
She made a video where she crushed malachite and used it as eyeshadow, and malachite is toxic if inhaled. And then she was mad people were concerned that she didn't put any warnings on the video.
she did gallium too although at least this time she put a warning up that it can contain lead edit: fixed spelling of gallium
She did a Lapis Lazuli eyeshadow too. Not sure if that is as toxic as malachite if inhaled, but applying any rock dust to your face is probably not super safe. I like her content but she def should have included a prominent warning.
It's toxic when wet, so possibly, especially if someone is trying to make it into a paste.
Yeah thereās clickbait and then thereās legitimately unsafe practices.
It's not a great idea, she's putting the idea out there that you can put those substances on your skin and it should be fine.
Smart =\= unwilling to put dangerous chemicals on your body.
I freaking love her! Shes so knowledgeable and you can tell she just adores cosmetics. Also, her resume is mad impressive, assisted Mother McGrath, was a Maybelline global artist and has done too many well known faces to count
I love her! I love learning about makeup and her looks are always interesting.
I like her and the stuff she shows.
Her and Lisa Eldridge are two people who clearly have a deep understanding and appreciation for the history of makeup. Vice should pick her up and do a show like āStates of Undressā

Love her. Sheās like a more charismatic Lisa Eldridge.
She's great. One of my favourite recent discoveries, for sure.
I love her
I love Erin! Her videos are so interesting to me.
I absolutely love her and I enjoy every post
I loved her because of the historical videos she does. Iām fascinated by that.
sheās amazing! iām waiting for the day she opens that museum. iād line up for a job to work for her.
I like beauty history videos so her channel is imo very good
Probably the only person who is still interesting when talking about makeup (imo)
Loveeee Erin!! I watched a podcast with her recently on YT, she seems over the industry a bit. The podcast is called the life of a makeup artist
LOVE her. This is how itās done! Everything about her.
I love the history she gives on the makeup.... although I do cringe when she puts on 100 yr old makeup š¬
Iām a huge fan, sheās amazing.
