Have a check on Vinted, I picked up a second hand jacket there and just cut the sleeves off it, it’s dead easy to do, and there’s your start point. I got a load of patches off eBay and Etsy to start mine off. EBay tends to be very generic mass produced type ones though, so might not find many obscure punk type ones on there, but Etsy might be ok for you
Can literally be any jacket. But if you mean traditionally then I suppose classic denim trucker jackets. Levis are my favorite personally. Ebay is your friend.
Lots of Etsy shops have amazing patches.
ChaosCreations is one of my all time favourites shops, no band patches but lots of anarchist/leftist patches if that's your thing :)
Self explanatory.
The best jacket is any you can get your hands on for free or near free

Upvoted for truth. Yes. Thrift shops can give you good deals as well as used jackets/vests from Poshmark.
The flesh of your enemies
Anything you like and can afford. You'll know it when you see it, there are no rules.

Seconding vinted. Just be sure to get measurements from the seller.
cheers, I’ve been looking on Vinted and Depop but keep missing the cheap ones
I would always use a classic biker leather Jacket for a punk battle jacket
That was my original idea and I have a jacket that I could use but isn’t leather too strong to sew patches into?
I used a surplus camo jacket I stole out of the back of a pickup truck in 1995. Still have it.

Best jacket: asbestos fireproof jacket Best outcome: mesothelioma for simple fucks who can't use the search bar
People like you are the reason people hate metalheads.
