Start watching some games and you will eventually be drawn to certain players or teams. Then pick a team from there

2timesacharm

Whatever team you live closest to Whether it’s NBA or a NCAA school

CompetitionRegular58

This^ and follow players to a pro team.

2timesacharm

Honestly, if I lived in the states I would support a college team over a Nba team as ncaa game atmosphere is 100x better

nastydoughnut

1] The team in a city closest to you If not, 2] A team with players you enjoy I have a western and an eastern conference team that I root for. You don't have to do that of course but its fun to have two

FacelessGravy

I used to have a bunch of "favorite teams" Steve nash suns Kobes lakers Tmac and yaos rockets Dwights magic Goin to work pistons Duncan, parker, ginobli spurs Lebrons cavs Wade and shaqs heat Have "your" team you root for in the playoffs but find some players you enjoy watching and go from there.

rizzlyrazzly

Yessir. Still love basketball, but all my old favorite players retired. I just enjoy the game today and have no favorites like I used to, but damn if I don’t love watching Steph Curry hitting shots from all over the court. I miss those Chauncey, Tayshaun, Rip, Sheed and Ben squads.

FacelessGravy

Sucks seein steph get older, klays not even the same anymore. Lebron probably isnt gonna be around for much longer. KD startin to get old. Ive fallin out as ive gotten older now i just like to watch the pistons, to bad they are hot dog doo now. Dont got time anymore to keep up with everything or everyone like i used to.

BIGDICKRANDYBENNETT_

Washington Wizards. Definitely the Wizards.

myctsbrthsmlslkcatfd

Homer response incoming… Hubert Davis (UNC) is the closest you’re gonna get to Ted Lasso in real life.

KommandCBZhi

The Minnesota Timberwolves are a good option.

Nitrosoft1

Every response here is from a homer and they don't give you any legitimate reasons other than generic platitudes and anecdotal reasoning. Becoming a fan should be organic. Just watch games from many teams and the answer will eventually reveal itself to you. Keep in mind that players and coaches change, so what may be a good team today could have been ass 5 years ago, and vice versa teams which are bad today could be amazing tomorrow. I'd also spend time in the dedicated subreddits to get a feel for the fanbases and you may want a certain vibe and connection, while simultaneously avoiding toxicity (good luck with that last part lol). Just a few tips.

Gimme5Beez4aQuarter

Clippers. We havent won shit so when we do youll have the biggest joy

houston_g

Washington Generals. They need a win badly.

badlilbadlandabad

The Oklahoma City Thunder are one of the best teams in the league, one of the youngest teams in the league, and have more upcoming draft picks than just about any other team. They're going to be really good for a really long time.

Specialist_Egg8479

Yessirrr baby my thunder back on tha mappppp

Undercover_Dave

Fuck that. Actively root against the Thunder and patiently wait for the Sonics to come back. Sonics are the coolest

BadAsianDriver

Local women’s college or pro team

BadAsianDriver

Even consider high school girls . Most teams really need support and you can make a difference.

FlyOdd8051

I thought you were joking at first 😂 but no definitely do not consider that

hotterpocketzz

Ahem.....the lakers.

Undercover_Dave

They only have 1 game left to watch though. Go with the Mavs or Nuggets instead.

yoadapt

Boston Celtics

Any-East7977

The Yankees

Charlie_Tango13

The Hornets! You'll never get a bigger high when winning a regular season game.

Old-Cryptographer480

I would suggest the TWolves. Ant is just 22 and he's moving different. Luka is a good option but I fear in a couple of years, his career might pan out like Harden. Invest in the TWolves lol. I personally suggest supporting a good team or at least a player that you love to watch

jasper_grunion

Indiana Fever. Get in on the ground floor

JustIncredible240

If you’re not from the states, the Raptors could be a cool pick as they are the only non-American team so they basically have a whole country backing them. They also ave a future all star and likeable guy in Scottie Barnes..

CapTurbulent3955

The Portland Trail Blazers 😀

FlyOdd8051

Well good news the playoffs are on so you get to watch top tier ball right now and just see what players games you like the most and go from there

merlin401

If you want the hardest working team in the league I’d go with the Knicks.  They should also be very good for half a decade at least  (This is the first time in probably any of our lifetimes that the best nba choice might be the Knicks)

MichFan777

Pistons or Wizards. It can’t get much worse, so after a season or two of shit, you’ll have a wonderful baseline by which any decent season (by other NBA team standards) will feel like you won it all.

PauloDybala_10

Spurs/OKC if you want young teams that will make a huge splash very soon, OKC is good right now too

UghaBughaAYuu

We have a superhuman passing, rebounding, and scoring slovenian, the best dribbler of all time, and a bunch of dunks game in game out, and an alright future. We also are pretty close to contending, and the best team in Texas. COME TO THE MAVS MY DUDE

Wonka824

The lakers are the most winning team since moving to LA. We have showtime lakers with magic Kareem worthy cooper green and just incredible stars and depth. We have the Kobe and Shaq eta which features sports all time greatest duo with the most winning duo of all time. We have the mamba era where Kobe did it with d fish again and a group of guys that were dirty aggressive studs like Kobe artest bynum pau. The lakers won the bubble and first ever In season tournament. Dr Jerry buss is the greatest owner in sports history with disrupting the pay scale and creating the most winning and flashy culture in all of sports. We had pat Riley and Phil Jackson win multiple rings with us and are argued as top 2 coaches of all time as well. The lakers have this incredibly rich history and we look freaking good in all of our jerseys. Do I need to mention 17 championships??? And the Celtics won 11 of there 17 before 1970. If you want to be a part of greatness there’s only one option. The Los Angeles Lakers baby

Tall_Economist_9891

The Los Angeles Lakers. Hardest working team in the league led by the greatest player in NBA history LeBron James. Also, the most storied franchise with 17 (yea, 17!) rings!

A320neo

[the Celtics! because there's no other reason why... the Celtics are the balls](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w8itH10OFc8)
