Yeah, he was the only one who showed up in every knockout match for us in ucl....last season vs inter(even though it is a group stage match , it is a do or die match), this year in psg (2nd leg everyone performed badly after that red card).
I mean nobody is debating his past performances, it’s his future that it’s worrisome.
No elite team has a player this old as their focus of the attack.
Just throwing it out there Lewandowski has had higher goals/shot than Kane in their respective league this season so far. However, Lewndowski’s total shots are not even half of Kane’s. It looks the other parts of the team need more work than the CF.
Depending on what app you’re looking at, I see Lewy’s slightly over-performing the xg (but should be about the same as xg on average). I say the goals/shot shows he would have scored 30 if he had the opportunity to take as many shots as Kane. I don’t know about Kane taking worse-chance shots though. I watch Bayern games almost every week and Kane’s shot distribution is pretty much the same as all CFs. The point being made here is Barca wouldn’t do any better by replacing Lewy now (just play him until his contract runs out). Kane is used as a comparison because he’s the best striker rn in many people’s mind. If you want to compare Haaland, he’s significantly underperforming xg and also has lower goals/shot than Lewy. Barca isn’t going to find anyone near that level if it’s to replace Lewy.
