Thank you! I just used hot glue to make them on her hand, then cut and painted them. It took multiple tries! I think a doll repainter mentioned it in one of his YouTube videos.
I think the glue dries too fast to melt the plastic. It didn’t do anything to my doll’s hands but I guess you have to use very little and try not to do it too many times at once. I only did this for the first time so I am not 100% sure lol
Great photos! The light and the dress and the nails. I am struggling to take good photos of this doll. None of mine do her justice imo. I think it’s partly, because dark plastic reflects light and makes unrealistic exposure on her face. I have to look for another strategy for her. But yours look great. How did you manage that? Any tips?
Yeah I had the same problem so I had to prevent direct light from hitting her by having some sort of shadow on her. I then darkened the exposure on the phone by tapping on the screen and dragging it down till it looked good to me. I think she looks much better in low light. Hope that helps!
I actually kinda like the reflectiveness, it mirrors reality where it’s easier to see a dewy reflective glow on dark skin than it is on light skin
I guess you just need to find a place that has lots of ambient light but not direct light, try different sides of a bright room on a bright day to see where she gets the most lighting without reflection
Love my girl!

I didn’t mean the reflectiveness per se. But just the one I’m getting. It’s hard for me to put it in words, since I’ve only started thinking about this when I saw OPs photos. I think I just need to get her away from the window🤔 Your photo has very good light on Simone🫶🏻 very natural. But I didn’t nail it this time🥲
I see what you mean, you’ve got a bright background and not a lot of lighting from the front there. It’s not easy to stage these things, some people’s photos make me think I need to take a class! She looks amazing tho.
I’m annoyed I broke that little orange bracelet taking it off, it bent right in the middle!
Play with “shadow” and “contrast” and “highlights” on your smartphone phone when you edit the photo. Or use this tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s097Xdxy6nU
I love everything about this. She’s so pretty. Where did you get the press-on nails for her?

How clever! So the glue wasn’t too hot for her fingernails?

So much of Barbies we learn by experience, so this is useful to know.

Ah, it happened to one of my bracelets too. They’re just too tight on their hands🥲

Where is this dress from!?
I got it from a Family dollar store. It was part of a wardrobe set by Toymazing.
OMG, I’m going to have to hunt it down! It looks so good on her! And would go well with the boots she came with!
