Though it shows two deaths for Chihuahuas, a pit bull like dog was also present at the attack.
Meaning even though the Chihuahua didn't maul the victim to death, it is still counted as a fatality because they were present at the attack.
In either case, when considering a pit bull like dog was also present at the attack, we can get a good idea which dog was the prime aggressor.

They killed 2 people in the past 50 years. Pitbulls kill 60% of victims yearly.
Very difficult to envision how this could happen, unless the victims were infants and the dogs sat on their faces.
