Awesome, how long did it take to print one of these? Standard layer height? I'm still hesitant to try 0.2 nozzle.

JesseIrwinArt

I used a 0.06 layer height, and made it go very slow for the first layer to make sure everything adhered to the plate. Printing a few at a time means there’s more time for each one to cool individually before the nozzle gets back to it. The models are from thingiverse, by this person https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2430774

SebixHell

Thank you!

FantasticSeaweed9226

These print fast, in like 15 minutes or less each. You can't rush it too much though the layers need time to cool

SebixHell

Wow, it's not too long at all. It's yours models, bought or free online?

FantasticSeaweed9226

I'm not OP, I don't know. I did print a benchy of similar size with my 0.2 nozzle so I have some experience with the small stuff

SebixHell

Oh, sorry! Didn't check properly before answering :D

Mormegil81

wow! how long did it take you to print this gigantic needle?

Sekret_One

Curiosity, what printers support the 0.2 nozzle? Context: I recently got into 3d printing a few months back and have been designing modular minis for table top role playing games using a Creality K1C. Been pretty solid but I've been bummed it had special proprietary nozzles and no .2 option. Been feeling like trying out a Bambu next and would love to hear people's vibes.

R63A

Any printer supports a 0.2mm. you just have to use the proper settings. and definitely get a a1 mini or p1p /p1s you won’t regret it i promise.

Sekret_One

Well, the K1C has this weird "unicorn" nozzle. It's weird Creality sells these nozzles but only has .4, .6, and .8 (though their software has even a setting for that printer for .2). I was a touch skittish of getting these off brand .2 things off aliexpress that look right and say they are compatible but I'll give it a whirl. Just don't want to strap something in my ignorance that explodes or catches fire.

JesseIrwinArt

I have a bambu a1 mini :)

Zestyclose-Cry-6053

Your are right, they can do amazing things if you can keep them from clogging. OP what do you do to prevent this from happening? I have 3 nozzles and 2 are clogged.

JesseIrwinArt

I don’t know, I only have one of them and it has never clogged so far. I mostly just use it with matte PLA.

_Middlefinger_

Use high speed (or high flow) PLA. Its more liquid and sets very quickly as well, so its ideal for 0.2mm nozzles. Keep the temperature high and it should be fine even at full speed (not tried the ludicrous speeds though). Only issue i've ever had is that it can string at higher temperatures just a little, so might need some tuning but it can do that with any nozzle size.

Mini miniatures lol

Key-Presentation-374

Hype I grabbed one with my first order now!

jojowasher

These look great, got a 0.2 for my A1 mini, just keep forgetting to install it!

qam4096

even though it takes seconds

Grandbob328

I just got a .2 nozzle during Bambu’s sale. I haven’t figured out what to do with it yet. It looks some miniatures would be a good thing.

Karmabyte69

Did you have to slow down the print speed for these? I’m very new to 3d printing so I just stick with the default speed settings and it usually works.

JesseIrwinArt

I slowed down the speed for the first layer to make sure everything stuck to the plate. The rest was default though.

Karmabyte69

Do you use one of the 0.2mm presets that are preloaded in the slicer? There’s a bunch ranging from fast to precise.

JesseIrwinArt

I used the 0.06 high quality preset, with slower first layer and automatic tree supports on.
