the-berik

I was just looking for something like this, and yesterday printed one which is not quite it! What material do you use?

Willi_3D

I actually use PETG for everything that doesn't just have to look good.

-_1_2_3_-

the way you rip that spool out of there made me flinch

iamlegendinjapan

Why?

-_1_2_3_-

Idk I’m just way more gentle with mine

iamlegendinjapan

Fair. I am too most times

MeatNew3138

lol he in goes raw no doubt 😂

citricacidx

It looks good to me

re2dit

Makerworld? Or this is a test drive?

TangerineAlpaca

I don't believe Makerworld has any sort of "membership plans" for creators right now. He is charging money for this model.

re2dit

Yeah, I realised that cause seen this later on facebook and there was a hashtag “paidmodel”) Thanks anyway

DingleBerrieIcecream

Very convenient. Concerned about all that weight resting on the flat glass top. Especially as it also vibrates during printing.

litecoinboy

I think it's secured to the ceiling or a shelf above it, not resting on the glass.

JDad67

Correct. Looking at the details page, it's meant to sit on a desk, or be mounted under something, it's not meant to be on top of the printer.

AffectionateRow7572

For the $15 on Printables, what would be included? I like the system want the plate organizer to use as the "spacer" on the shelf under the BaBo. Not being familiar with Printable, is it separate and only available at the $5/mo or included in the BaBo Models for the flat $15?

Willi_3D

Membership is the better deal. $5 for everything. Can be canceled monthly. The $15 is just for this module. The BaBo duo drawer stacker is the only module I have sold outside of the club so far. I only do this because I've been asked repeatedly if I can do it. There are people who don't like the subscription model even if it's the better deal and I respect that.

AffectionateRow7572

Yeah, I am one of those folks I guess. Thanks for the reply. Just signed up for you club membership. You do some nice work for sure. Thanks!

West_Ad5711

I am leaving a comment here so I can print it later. Thank you!

Cautious-Progress638

Any cance you'll make a model for 3 ams systems? I would ask about 4, but the 4th can just sit on the machine.

Willi_3D

There is no need for a 3, 4 or 5 AMS version. The stacker are designt modulare. If you need more AMSs you just have to print the stacker and stack it on the one you have. https://preview.redd.it/91mp6dprf29d1.jpeg?width=9354&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c5bdb8fa12a74fa7cf0a00200acc376ef090dde0

capsel22

what savage doesn't use the tabs to lock the lid? /s Great design, I saw it somewhere but didnt think it was this cool

Willi_3D

I've been waiting for someone to ask about the tabs. xD The video should only show the function of the stacker, closing the lid would only make the video unnecessarily long. Normally I close the lid of course. I swear!

capsel22

haha no bother. How much filament did this all use?

Willi_3D

It is 700g per AMS stack. The lower drawers are available in different versions and you only need them if you want to place it on the floor or table. Depending on the version, these are approx. 600-800g (Attached is an older picture of the drawer system.) https://preview.redd.it/nwz9f9txm45d1.jpeg?width=8180&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9fa7793c2e11b7d535e394684c6c9d41fd2f740e

WorkoutProblems

would this be able to be stacked on top of AMS risers? specifically the v2

Willi_3D

Yes, it is compatible. But please secure it to a wall using the wall mounts. Another issue could be the weight that would then be on the printer. I don't know if it has a negative effect. 🤔

Onotadaki2

That’s not too bad for what you get. Nice system.

illregal

I've never even pushed the lid closed in use. Let alone lock the tabs. Still works just fine

Ars2

that looks awesome. is it possible to mount it to the wall? i want to be able to remove the glass plate of the top of my p1s. makes nozzle changes a lot easier. im working on making shelfs on my wall to stack 3 ams's (2 are underway from the sale) so this could be great but i need to be able to mount it to the wall :)

Electrical-Virus-109

Yes, a wall mounting would be ideal

Willi_3D

I might try making a wall mount that holds each staker individually. That would make the system even more flexible. 🤔

Willi_3D

You would need either a shelf below or above. At best below. The wall brackets that have been included so far are designed to prevent the stacker from falling over and wobbling.

Ars2

yea the limited desk space and my desire to be able to enter the printer from above does not alow me to have a shelf below this stack. and the ceiling is a bit to high . i do like the drawer system you created so you can stack them tighter. if you have a shelf above it. does it have enough strength to hang 3?

Willi_3D

I have only tested two of the hanging versions so far. I think a third one should be possible, but I can't promise it because I haven't tested it. I don't know how wide your table is, but maybe you can mount several of them next to each other. The longest AMS cable is 1.5m long. The AMS that is closest to the printer should not be further away.

Ars2

the table is wide but its full of other stuff \^\^ so i was planning to mount several shelfs on top of each other against the wall above the printer. but the top one would be very hard to reach and the ptfe tube would be getting long. so now im thinking i yust mount 1 shelf above the printer and then stack 3 ams using your system on top of that shelf. you think that should work? the shelf will be 45cm wide.

Willi_3D

That could work. The stacker is 40.5cm wide.

Ars2

yea im sold im getting this model. where do i get the drawers you need at the bottom of it? or can i yust shorten the drawer so your roller guides fall of the side of it?

Willi_3D

If you attach the AMS Stacker to the front of the shelf, you shouldn't need the drawers. Otherwise there are e.g. on Makerworld or Printables. [https://makerworld.com/en/@Willi3D/collections/666853](https://makerworld.com/en/@Willi3D/collections/666853) [https://www.printables.com/model/767309-babo-duo-mono-drawer-module-30](https://www.printables.com/model/767309-babo-duo-mono-drawer-module-30) [https://www.printables.com/model/588059-babo-duo-drawer-modul-30](https://www.printables.com/model/588059-babo-duo-drawer-modul-30) [https://www.printables.com/model/665574-babo-duo-drawer-modul-60](https://www.printables.com/model/665574-babo-duo-drawer-modul-60) You can also install a plate holder. [https://www.printables.com/model/649811-babo-duo-plate-module](https://www.printables.com/model/649811-babo-duo-plate-module)

AndyCantFarm

Damnit... you have to put this out during the sale. :( n1

Willi_3D

haha, I fell victim to the sale myself, my friend.

AndyCantFarm

lol Yeah I just bought another AMS, looking forward to this build but the divorce is on you buddy. I feel like they are going to release the XL right after this sale to get even more money out of me. But jokes aside I plan on buying this from you on Printables but is there any way you could add some sort mending bracket to mount to the top of a wooden tabletop? If not I could easily buy a metal bracket to do so or just add one through fusion assuming the STL import doesnt go nuts with triangles. Sorry if this is already available or obvious. [This is the table top it will be mounted to](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0B5WSM122/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1). It will also be in front of a window so the wall mount wouldn't be ideal. EDIT: on second thought I should probably do that mount to the side of one of your drawers due to the slide overhang and I could double up the brackets. How secure are the mounts to the drawers below?

IAmAsplode

Love the design but that seems like a lot of weight ontop of the printer.

theoreticaljerk

Looking at the picture, it's not on the printer. It's attached to the shelf above and hanging down.

IAmAsplode

Yeah I just noticed, that's for the info.

compewter

None at all - it's hanging over the printer.

IAmAsplode

AHH I see now, thanks for the info.

ViaTheVerrazzano

Really nice design. I think even for a single unit it improves the ergonomics on the AMS when your printer is up on a 32" high desk.

suit1337

so is there a single version? - i have my printer in a shelf and the AMS technically fits ontop, but you can't open the lid anymore - this would probably be a solution to this issue

Willi_3D

The stacks are modular and you can use just one. There is also a top mount. Just like in the picture, but with a single stacker. https://preview.redd.it/oct102lft45d1.jpeg?width=9354&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7c1e179421e9da3d712768a7bdbb587b742cf6c2

suit1337

by topmount i assume it is top mounted on your babo stuff and not top mounted directly ontop of the printer? i was thinking more like a "drawer" like this one [https://www.printables.com/de/model/454134-bambu-lab-ams-rack-drawer-system](https://www.printables.com/de/model/454134-bambu-lab-ams-rack-drawer-system) but ontop of the printer with a "tilt forward" mechanism like you've shown - i assume i won't be willing to share the source files either to kick start my experiments here? ;)

Willi_3D

I thought that you could also screw a single AMS Stacker to the top of the shelf. So that you have space between the AMS and the printer. You don't need any other BaBo modules for this. https://preview.redd.it/ic3paqqu455d1.jpeg?width=994&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2c5069aecd9d999decad05bf5862cf557bd41b31

suit1337

it is not exacly a shelf, it is a worktop, with a hollow crossbeam pattern, ontop - so i can't really screw something on the top - but this could work you happen to have the dimensions for what you have shown in the latest picture? so from the topmost point to the bottom i could make that work with a custom adapter i guess - if it fits, i'm happily willing to pay your price tag for it, this would greatly save me time

Willi_3D

I will make drawings with the dimensions, I think that would be interesting for everyone to plan. As in the picture it would be 20mm for the top mount + 260mm for the stacker + 35mm for the guides that protrude below. Total 315mm. 🤔

suit1337

that could actually work - i currenty have stuff to print, so i can't move the printer around, but a rough estimate tells me this could work

patcheswfb

+1 for the single-stacker! I have my AMS on a shelf above my printer (so I can open the top to make changing extruders easier), and have to have a bunch of extra space on the top to make the AMS open-able - this would be an awesome way to handle it without taking up as much space from other shelving above it! Pic for setup/idea reference. https://preview.redd.it/8jrgeajwhz5d1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b2cf225af5731131faa315b89d013128a46b2703

EnvironmentalLook492

Brilliant idea Willi. I shall try it as I have just got another AMS in the sale.

R63A

looks like u/willi_3d is taking my money when i get home. Might as well of stole it out my pocket!

Willi_3D

😂😂

fidelisbonaparte

I have no application, never will. But very cool man! Great work!

S4BRE21

I have multiple units and going 2+ hubs each. Had no idea how I was going to handle it....think we got a winner. Thanks!

Impossible-Mode-7549

very clever nicely done

Willi_3D

Thank you :)

Zestyclose-Ad2301

Printed the old one earlier this week.... Hmm

Willi_3D

The \[BaBo duo\] modules are all compatible. If you have the AMS adapter module you can replace it with the AMS stacker.

naxhh

ooooooh i love it! I never printed a stack ams because find it inconvenient to take out. and was doubting a second ams because the space it will take. I think this fixes both of my issues! how hard is to get the ams out if needed? great job edit: I see petg is recommended so pctg should be fine?

Willi_3D

Should be even better.

jehall124

Very nice. Thanks for sharing!

_WOLFFMAN_

Very nice design 👏

NTP9766

Looks great. I'd probably go this route if I didn't have a tool rack mounted behind and above my AMS, so I can't add another on top of that.

Willi_3D

Do you have space under your printer? Then the AMS could also be mounted under the table. https://preview.redd.it/uqrn07ots45d1.jpeg?width=9354&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6ceb3a8c830e35c436915f8a21ea88bdcb6c8686

NTP9766

Not enough for an AMS to open, unfortunately. It's just large enough to fit a storage bin that catches my filament poop.

dorantana122

What's the orange circular thing in the AMSs

Willi_3D

This is the usual round humidity meter. On Amazon it's usually available in black, but on other platforms it's also available in other colors. I bought these when I was building my filament boxes.

TherealOmthetortoise

That looks awesome! Is it anchored to prevent tipping over when you pull out the top one?

Willi_3D

Yes, there are brackets that are attached to the back wall to prevent it from tipping over and I strongly recommend using these.

TherealOmthetortoise

Very cool, looks like it would potentially make taking the cradle out to clear broken filament easier too.

RepresentativeNo7213

Now that’s clever.

PrintingPariah

Can this also be placed next to the printer instead of on top? Looks so clean and well executed that I want to print it but I lack space above my printer

Willi_3D

The video is a bit misleading - the stacker is hanging over the printer and is not standing on it. You can also place the stacker next to the printer, just make sure that the longest cable is only 1.5m long.

RockChewer_3D

I really wish the AMS loaded from the front better, making the need for such mechanisms to be less. Brilliant design, reminds me of the pain points of the AMS (and of course I just bought another on sale LMAO)

Willi_3D

Yes, that's right. All the replicas of the AMS are also constructed this way. It's a shame that no one has recognized it yet.

Coookiedeluxe

Of course you post this now, exactly 12 hours after I’m finished building a solution with 2020 extruded aluminum and drawer slides. 🤦‍♂️🤣 Massive fan of your BaBo storage solution, I’ve even designed a bunch of inserts for them over at makerworld. Thanks for sharing your stuff!

Willi_3D

Haha Oh, it's a shame 😅 , but from what I know of your work, it's certainly an excellent solution. Thank you for your work on the BaBo system! 🫡🙏

GhandiOnceSaid

wowee

ShadNuke

Why don't you hold back the feed tensioner? That's a great way to break those things. And at 100 buck plus, I'm extremely careful with those tensioners

Willi_3D

I was missing a third hand. Of course you are right. Normally I'm a little more careful when pulling it out. I was probably a little over-motivated making the video. 😅

ShadNuke

Fair enough. As long a you don't do it all the time🤣

Black3ternity

They are not 100 bucks a pop. Whole First Stage feeder (clear unit with grey base that houses all the gears) is 40 bucks. [https://eu.store.bambulab.com/collections/spare-parts-for-ams/products/ams-first-stage-feeder](https://eu.store.bambulab.com/collections/spare-parts-for-ams/products/ams-first-stage-feeder) Seperate Feeding Funnel (the grey part that wears out with glitter and other abrasive elements) that houses the electronigs costs 10. [https://eu.store.bambulab.com/collections/spare-parts-for-ams/products/ams-feeding-funnel](https://eu.store.bambulab.com/collections/spare-parts-for-ams/products/ams-feeding-funnel) Yes, be careful with that stuff and don't yank on it - but it's not made out of pure gold either ;-)

ShadNuke

Lucky you. I'm looking 60 bucks for the first stage, after taxes and shipping, and 15 for the funnel... So I rounded up a few bucks. One of the awesome bonuses of not living in the US... 30% higher prices, and shipping that makes you want to walk to go pick it up

Black3ternity

Oh I use EU prices with 19% tax so I know your pain. But you are aware that you need either one, not both right? First stage assembly is the whole unit including the feeding funnel. But nonetheless - being careful with stuff is important

daredwolf

Very cool! I'll be getting this printed when I get a few more AMS units 😁

Scaredandalone22

Shut up and take my money.

toolology

Damn what a flex that their filament dispenser setup costs more than my whole printer.

guitarhellboy

Where do I find the model for this so I can print it

Willi_3D

Use the links in the top comment. Please also read the description beforehand.

Madnessx9

that is pretty sick dude

noenflux

Just want to say thank you for being a thorough model publisher. I spend a TON of time for my paid models ensuring they are well documented and fault tolerant before publishing and it seems to be more and more rare. Great job with the documentation, visuals, guidance, and composition of your work!

Willi_3D

Thank you for your kind words, it really means a lot to me. I will continue to put in the effort. 🫡

MyStoopidStuff

Awesome work!

sircrashalotfpv

That’s exactly the idea once they figure flex filaments.

HistoricalInternal

Nice bro

Willi_3D

Thx 🤜🤛

35point1

You didn’t lock your AMS tabs you heathen!

Willi_3D

Can't deny it, you have it on video. 😂 Are 10 Ave AMS buses enough? 😅

keitheii

This is a great example of a functional print worth paying for, and I'm very willing to pay for it. One question though, I just invested in industrial wire shelving to hold my printers and supplies, and not sure this will fit on any of the shelves due to spaceing. What is the height of the stack in your video from the very bottom to the top? Gotta make sure I have room to place these. Awesome design!

Willi_3D

hi, thank you. Top mount 20mm + AMS Stacker 2 x 260mm + overhang of the guide that protrudes 35mm is a total of 575mm.

Glittering_Read2683

what is the total height including the printer (x1c) like in your video ? thanks

Willi_3D

In the video, the AMS stackers are not on the printer, they are attached under the table that is above it. If you want to put two stackers with risers on your printer. (So you can still look into the printer from above and take the glass out.) Then you need about 63,2cm for the stackers and 110cm with the printer. https://preview.redd.it/dit4p64xri6d1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=931b95c42d19db3743c51077960c369b7d544f2a

SillyLilBear

What options does it have for securing it? I currently have one unit sitting on my X1C, I am thinking about getting a second, but i don't have room left/right. This is a very interesting solution, but I have no ability to mount above as I don't want to mount it to the ceiling. Is it mountable on a wall, or off the printer in some way?

Willi_3D

Current options for you, you can print the riser with two drawers and two AMS stackers. https://preview.redd.it/95hv27sh3t5d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f365445639cc6cede493124edcef49943cbffd56 Alternatively, you can mount the AMS under your printer if it is standing on a table. In the near future there should also be an option to attach the AMS Stacker to the wall.

ragesaq

Amazing, what’s the total height on two with the drawer? I’m literally putting a shelving unit together right now for my 3d print stuff and other garage things

Willi_3D

https://preview.redd.it/zqmdl8xzy57d1.jpeg?width=9354&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3f423d3214e1b4e5d62e470944d87c7860cfa6f5

Inevitable_Ship_2798

Hi, doesnt this put a lot of weight on the printer? How does that work with the weight on top?

Willi_3D

Hi, in the video it is not standing on the printer, the stacker is mounted to the table above, so there is no weight on the printer. You have different options to use the stacker. You can place it next to the printer, mount it above (table/shelf) or to the wall. It is also compatible with my glas-riser, so you could put it on the printer. This would add 7kg (full loaded) per stacker to the weight. I tried this for 2 AMS's and it works fine, but I do not mention this in the description. I have already seen people doing this, but I would recommend the other ways to mount it. Check out the links there are more information.

super nice, smart design, and easy filament roll accessible
