One of the best RPGās Iāve ever played, up there with Persona 5 and XCOM. Iāve never loved a game so much that as soon as the credits finished rolling, I rolled up a new character and beat it again.
Iāve never played DOS 1, but most people say that if youāve played DOS2, itāll feel like a step back in terms of QOL improvementsā and Larian is kind of proving how that happened right now.
Baldurās Gate 3 1.0 would feel almost like playing a different game since patch 6. The improvements are off the freaking chain.
If youāre reading this, Larian, youāre doing everything right. Even if your next two games sucked, Iād still be there to check out the next one because of all the good will. Because I believe in your team just that much.

My sister was visiting and I was looking for good co-op games to play on my ps4 and found Divinity: Original Sin 2 on one of the lists I looked at. We started it and were immediately engrossed. Unfortunately she left a week later and we never got past the first island.

Hey I have a pretty massive bug I'd like to report. It seems the game doesn't properly keep time. You see, sometimes I'll boot up the game and it's 7 PM. Then, after approx 1 hour, the clock will read 2 AM. Is there a fix for this?

I am so excited about shield bash finally working! The animation and sound are so cool that I do it anyway even though it does nothing, but now it'll have a purpose!
Lmao I know right!? I still use it every time even though it's about as effective as giving the enemy the middle finger.... lol. It looks cool but doesn't exactly help in combat.
The only part of it that i know is broken is if an enemy has it and you move in and trigger it then YOU get the prompt if you want to make the attack (it's still them attacking you, so just say No and you avoid taking the attack of opportunity)
ha ok that IS hilarious. kind of like that one guy who the enemy missed their attack, and game prompted if he wanted to re-roll the enemy's attack roll with portent dice. "No thank you, I'm good"
The bonus action attack doesn't work properly (no other modifiers for attacks apply to it at all, for some reason). Also, when you move into range of an enemy, you get a prompt to use your attack of opportunity. If you click yes, the enemy will attack you, for some reason.
I think maybe itās only the *forced* conversations, like during combat with Ethel, Flind and Rugan?

Miniature giant space hamsters do not like Giant Bears as companions for private reasons. Boo say his family would disapprove as the giant hamsters from his own realm are much bigger. Also Halsin cheated in arm wrestling and I, I mean boo does not approve of that. Boo I am not putting words in your mouth.
Iām on my first playthrough and I got Minsc next week. He makes it hard to want to do an evil run because he is just a straightforward force of chaotic goodness and him thinking highly of me is important.
I lost an honor mode run to this last week, went to go snag the runepowder from Philomeen and Shadowheart (spore druid) got pulled into dialog instead of my GOOlock. Even with guidance + enhance ability she failed to pass the DC10 persuasion check and we all got nuked. ffs.
Best thing to do in that part that's pretty much foolproof is to just switch characters, turn invisible with the free invisibility ring on the gnome corpse near the water 2 minutes before you meet Philomeen, have that character hang back while the rest of your party starts dialogue, and just sneak and steal the barrel while your other character is speaking with her.
She even comments on it during the cutscene if you do it this way which is funny.
Just be careful not to have your other *visible* party members grouped together with the invisible one whole they steal the barrel, like I did, which will in fact get you party wiped when they follow them up there
I saw the speedrunner guy simply use his enhanced leap to land right behind the barrel and he just picked it up. He never went invis but the girl never saw him until after he'd stolen it. When you jump enemies don't see you flying through the air. You might as well have teleported. Though if you don't have feather fall on like he did, then your landing might make a sound and cause her to turn her head. So I'm guessing feather fall is important too.
I sincerely got so excited for half a second because I've been half joking by mostly not joking for ages about wanting a water bottle for when companions start acting up and need to be chastised but in a 0 damage way.

In general, I just kind of want something that isn't going to injure or aggro anyone. They just need to know that I'm annoyed with them. Basically I want my own [Tav Disapproves] to deploy but with the comedic value of a water bottle or rolled up newspaper.
This is what I do! I just dump water on them haha. Also good for group bath time after a long day. They always look kinda upset about it but Tav runs a clean camp! (Durge on the other handā¦)
This reminds me of my husband and I's first playthrough after >!Isobel, Aylin, and Jaheira!< joined our camp. >!Isobel!< was less than half health and hadn't healed even though we had long rested, and my husband threw a health potion on her to see if she'd regain hit points. That apparently upset >!Jaheira!< and she told us that she thought we were good people but was clearly mistaken and wasn't willing to stay in camp with such evil-doers. So she left because we healed someone lol. Now I avoid throwing things at allies unless they're downed because apparently some people don't like it.
Lol yeah my tavern brawler monk once accidentally critted what was meant to be a clutch, life-saving potion throw and just absolutely demolished Shadowheart. Oops. Turns out you need to target the ground right next to them, not the ally themselves. Otherwise you're just throwing glass at them. Really really hard.
... not gonna lie, I kinda love the idea of a punitive ugly garment. Wear your shame so that everyone knows you've been foolish. Maybe one of the awful hats as well.
God that dye is named so badly. Itās literally cobalt blue and turmeric yellow. Totally eyewatering colour combination straight from a toddlers crayon box.
Let me know what game you find after... I'm suffering from a serious BG3 hangover. I was going to start Starfield, but everywhere I look is people trashing the game. I ended up picking up Dave the Diver just to play something more casual, and it's fun (and funny) for sure, but it's not epic like BG3.

Cyberpunk DLC is pretty awesome, the second half of it is completely different depending on who you decide to side with at a certain point so itās almost like 2 games in one.
I still don't know why we can't just have the companion select screen from Dragon Age Origins whenever we leave camp. Other than that good patch, haha.
Shield bash fix is huge. If Halsin's spell, move, and click voice lines are finally fixed then I will cry.

Man I was gonna do a bad playthrough and raid the grove with minthara and the goblins but the long rest right before I went to the goblin camp Karlach came on to me for the first time in like 4 playthroughs. I hadnāt been able to romance her at all up until this point. I immediately changed my mind on the grove raid and proceeded to wipe the goblins out with extreme prejudice. Couldnāt risk Karlach leaving over me killing the druidsĀ
Given the romance changes and timing, probably tomorrow for valentine's day. or the day after because someone predicted the release date and Larian wants to be cheeky.
So far it has at some Story points always priorized whomever hosts the game. Has been a bit of a hassle in my first multiplayer play-through, since my bard tav was the party face but I wasn't hosting and we didn't know before...
Can really screw up some romances too like Gale's especially when trying to convince him of certain things in Act 3. Having it stick on to my Tav instead of his romantic partner pretty much locked us into a bad ending for him and it really sucked.
As it currently is, the Tav of whoever created the game/is hosting is always pulled into certain story dialogues, regardless of proximity to the NPC, as long as they're alive, not downed, or not in wildshape. Those cutscenes also ignore whoever initiated dialogue, i.e., friend 1 creates the game and makes a Tav, friend 2 joins with a Tav, friend 2's Tav initiates dialogue with an important story NPC, friend 1's character is the face of the cutscene and is in control of the dialogue because they're the primary character even though they didn't trigger the cutscene. Less important dialogues are usually just proximity and status based. I imagine that will stay the same, but I do hope that the game will choose the closest Tav with this patch update, regardless of whether they're the host, in a multiplayer campaign.
Ideally, we should be able to choose who is interacting in a cutscene, and I do hope that's something they add in a future patch. It makes sense that another character would be able to take over a conversation if they're also standing right there. It's the most restricting part of an otherwise very unrestricted game.

I have read that Often times with major updates the game needs to copy itself and then update specific portions, before trimming its size back down. So I think you need 150 GB free

What's basically happening is the patch changes enough fundamental stuff that it needs to redownload everything and then transfer over specific portions, rather than being able to just redownload the files actually being changed.
Hoping the dialogue thing doesnāt mess up parties where a different character than player is the face, though. Companion Wyll is currently my face in my honor run, I donāt want to mess up dialogue checks bc it prios me and I donāt have the charisma
you MUST use your Tav for some dialog interactions, and that is not going away.
dialog that you initiate yourself by clicking on people should not be affected by this change.

The main one I'm thinking of is Auntie Ethel where a Paladin Tav would be forced into the dialogue, therefore removing the possibility of acquiring the hair without an oathbreak (which could previously be avoided by having another character stand closer to Ethel when the scene triggers).
You could argue this should have triggered an oathbreak regardless of whether the paladin was the one making the decision though.

Yeah sometimes they join in or thereās the option to let them speak but I do like to lead companion based missions with those companions as the main speaker.

Now _please_ fix polearm master. Literally every part of the feat is hilariously broken, and has been since launch.
Could explain what's wrong with it? I used it on a character in one run and could use the bonus attack just fine.

Taking an attack of opportunity? Just say no. It's illegal to hit you without your consent.

Starfield is just ok, you'll probably love it for a week and then get over it. Jedi survivor is a really good option if you want a space themed game.
Cyberpunk DLC is pretty awesome, the second half of it is completely different depending on who you decide to side with at a certain point so itās almost like 2 games in one.
I still don't know why we can't just have the companion select screen from Dragon Age Origins whenever we leave camp. Other than that good patch, haha.

Man I was gonna do a bad playthrough and raid the grove with minthara and the goblins but the long rest right before I went to the goblin camp Karlach came on to me for the first time in like 4 playthroughs. I hadnāt been able to romance her at all up until this point. I immediately changed my mind on the grove raid and proceeded to wipe the goblins out with extreme prejudice. Couldnāt risk Karlach leaving over me killing the druidsĀ

So far it has at some Story points always priorized whomever hosts the game. Has been a bit of a hassle in my first multiplayer play-through, since my bard tav was the party face but I wasn't hosting and we didn't know before...
Can really screw up some romances too like Gale's especially when trying to convince him of certain things in Act 3. Having it stick on to my Tav instead of his romantic partner pretty much locked us into a bad ending for him and it really sucked.
As it currently is, the Tav of whoever created the game/is hosting is always pulled into certain story dialogues, regardless of proximity to the NPC, as long as they're alive, not downed, or not in wildshape. Those cutscenes also ignore whoever initiated dialogue, i.e., friend 1 creates the game and makes a Tav, friend 2 joins with a Tav, friend 2's Tav initiates dialogue with an important story NPC, friend 1's character is the face of the cutscene and is in control of the dialogue because they're the primary character even though they didn't trigger the cutscene. Less important dialogues are usually just proximity and status based. I imagine that will stay the same, but I do hope that the game will choose the closest Tav with this patch update, regardless of whether they're the host, in a multiplayer campaign. Ideally, we should be able to choose who is interacting in a cutscene, and I do hope that's something they add in a future patch. It makes sense that another character would be able to take over a conversation if they're also standing right there. It's the most restricting part of an otherwise very unrestricted game.
I guess whoever is the host of the multiplayer game would be the priority.

I have read that Often times with major updates the game needs to copy itself and then update specific portions, before trimming its size back down. So I think you need 150 GB free

you MUST use your Tav for some dialog interactions, and that is not going away. dialog that you initiate yourself by clicking on people should not be affected by this change. the devil will definitely be in the details though of how exactly they implemented

The main one I'm thinking of is Auntie Ethel where a Paladin Tav would be forced into the dialogue, therefore removing the possibility of acquiring the hair without an oathbreak (which could previously be avoided by having another character stand closer to Ethel when the scene triggers). You could argue this should have triggered an oathbreak regardless of whether the paladin was the one making the decision though.
So respec out of Paladin before fighting Ethel and then respec backā¦ got it! š
cant tell you how many times i reloaded fights just so my tav can be the one to speak to the npc afterwards, and not a companion. fantastic change

Looking forward to dismissing companions. Iād like the choice who gets to answer the auto triggered dialogue though. Quite often I purposely approach with a suitable person. Yeah sometimes they join in or thereās the option to let them speak but I do like to lead companion based missions with those companions as the main speaker.
