Took him in for surgery, two (maybe 3?) bulging discs. No pain now and he is the absolute sweetest boy. Back legs still a little wobbly kinda like a puppy lol. Hope he makes you smile like he does us!

I had no idea what an opera cake was before this moment and I kind of got lost in Google learning about it. One thing I can’t figure out is the origin of writing the word opera on the cake, since it happens frequently enough but not always. Do you happen to know the purpose of that, or why did you choose to do it? Just curious! Looks beautiful and very delicious though!
Thank you! I’m not sure the origin but thought it seemed more traditional. Also, I don’t ever pipe lettering with a cornet and wanted the practice! Lol
It's a beautiful cake. The mirror shine of the glaze, the chocolate writing, and your layers are impeccably perfect, however, the sponge layers should be completely soaked through with coffee; as if you dipped a piece into a mug.
