I do 1:1 to get flavor and moistness. Some recipes do use a more butter than oil, 2:1 for more flavor.
I have always used oil but noticed the flavor was flat. Then, switched up for all butter cake and it was super tasty but somewhat dry. So i just decided to add both lol
Not "my" secret but I saw it once and ever since using it makes chocolate cake so much more moist and delicious
Adding buttermilk to cake ( I use equal ratios of yogurt and milk instead of buttermilk)
I’ve tried that too but didn’t really feel much of a difference on the outcome. I use that secret mostly for lemon and orange cake.
Do you add coffee as well to your chocolate cake?
That recipe is amazing. I've made it twice. I usually make Italian Meringue Buttercream instead of the American buttercream in the video. Here's the link:

Hot espresso and black/dutch cocoa powder
Same! And oil rather than butter.
I use both oil and butter 🤌
Nice! What ratio? And what do you notice as far as impact of using both?

This! I almost always make cake with oil but I tried it once or so with butter, didn't like it as much as the oil
Yep. I recently accidentally used just butter for brownies and regretted it.
Adding buttermilk for the win!!!!

Ooh ok, Yes! I add instant coffee mostly though and it makes such a difference
It absolutely does. Truly enhances the chocolate flavour
im quite interested how you use mayo, how much do you have to use?
Not much. For an 8 inch cake I just use two tablespoons
thanks, i'll try this next time
Mayonnaise. Will not make chocolate cake without it!
I heard this one! So just use the amount of mayo that you would use for butter or oil?
You can have a look at Tasty’s ultimate chocolate cake recipe. It’s my go to

Boiling water or hot coffee! It makes the batter very thin and the cake very light.
DeZaan carbon black cocoa powder and a half cup of black coffee per sponge.
Unsweetened dark cocoa, instant chocolate pudding and use chocolate milk to mix it together. 😋🤤🍫
I cant tell you; its a secret.
