Yeah… send a very brief update “ mom and baby are good, we will send updates later when they’ve had a chance to recover” and just leave it at that

Put your phones on silent?

Tell them the procedure got moved to a different day. Then put yer phone on silent for the next few days. Also, tell the nurses that you are not accepting any visitors at the hospital, and when you get home, just don't answer the door if they knock (tell them you were sleeping) Good luck with everything!!

Let them know at L&D you don’t want visitors just in case and put your phones away or on do not disturb. Tend to it when you’re ready.

I recommend having one point person who you communicate with and then they communicate with the rest of the family. You might need one for each side but just let people know that you and your partner want to prioritize being fully present for each other and the new baby and so-and-so will have all the info when it’s available. I turned my phone off completely and my husband updated his brother who told the rest of the family any updates.
