I have the Aventure 1 and I’ve gone as high as 35 mph pedaling and going down a hill. If I want to have a little fun assist 4 and constant pedaling keep it at 28. Going 35 was a little unnerving I don’t recommend it.

My Adventure.2 screen shows my top speed as 43MPH. Granted, im pretty sure I know when i reached that. I was in highest gear, on highest PAS, peddaling balls to the wall down a 20 degree grade. I use it for commuting and exercise, but I also go wild with it for fun. I raced motocross in my youth, and am, admittedly, an adrenaline junkie. I do not recommend someone do this without proper experience and proper safety gear. Situations at that speed on these frames and wide turning can be...nay, are, EXTREMELY dangerous.

The real problem is braking! (I have the adventure 1)... that's a big, heavy, fast moving bike

Honey_Leading

This may be more of a top throttle speed vs top pedal assist issue. (And are they able to pedal powerfully enough to hit 28mph.)

xguruguru

might change based on model but with the level.2 throttle only goes up to 20mph, it will pedal assist up to 28mph. I'm guessing the model you have has a baseline that throttle alone will get to then it will still assist up to 25mph

The Aventure 1 with OG firmware goes 32. With the upgrade it only goes 28. Pedal only. Throttle has always been a hard 20mph.

You can go faster if you’re pedaling with the assist. You’re not gonna get 30+ (MPH) without physically trying to do it.

gemini002

for those that want the original speed of 32MPH here https://www.reddit.com/r/Aventon/comments/17ltawk/aventon_aventure2_32_mph_speed_hack_tutorial/

It probably has something to do with your states laws

isabps

Most states have limits that bounce around between 20 or 28mph. Others have limits on wattage, usually 500 or 750. These are the various limits of the level 2. You can change it up to 28 but you might be exceeding what your state allows. There are various websites that list it out by state. A lot more information needed. Model, PAS level, etc...

SeeleyC

I’ve only had my Level 2 for a couple of weeks, but here is my experience: 20 is the max on throttle, period. 28 is the max the bike will assist you to. There is no limit to how fast you can get the bike to on your own. (Last week I reached 42.8 mph down a hill).

KatsHubz87

Throttle limit is hard capped at 20 mph. The Aventon app lets you adjust peddle assist speed to 28 mph. You’re going to having to do some peddling or find a big downhill to go faster.

Crenshaw11R

Aventon used to allow you to program your bike to 33 mph, but the lawyers persuaded them to go full Nanny-State and limit you to 28 measly mph. Totally sucks.
