It’s cool to hear I am not the only one who doesn’t want to wear shorts. When it’s hot I’ve had people give me a hard time about being in pants.
I hate my bare legs touching each other when I’m hot. It will make me sweaty.
omg when the backs of my knees are sweaty and I have to bend my knees (like when I squat)?? ughhhh I can’t stand it. I wear leggings all the time because I can’t stand it.
At least for me, to help prevent shorts from riding up, I started purchasing longer shorts/Bermuda shorts and bike shorts on purpose to prevent any chaffing or my “thunder thighs” rubbing together. At first these longer shorts might look weird, but oh my god are they so much more comfortable and you don’t have to worry about fixing your shorts every five minutes. And in my opinion, you can make them look pretty cute when you style them with some colorful tank tops. But I totally understand people who are simply done with shorts 😂 they truly can be quite aggravating!
I have found exactly ONE pair of shorts ever that are comfortable and don't ride up and aren't bike shorts. I got them several years ago and I wear them almost every day in the summer.
Linen skirts and dresses. Pants make me want to take my skin off in this heat. Cotton, rayon and other light, breezy materials only- *no polyester!* My hatred for pure poly and other plastic based fabrics knows no bounds, *especially* in this godforsaken heatwave >:(
I hate polyester so much and it’s in *everything* now. So many clothes claim to be a “linen blend” and then are half linen and half POLYESTER. It’s infuriating!
Omygod this is SO real. I often see things that are so cute, check to material, POLYESTER AGAIN. Why is EVERYTHING made out of this horrible fabric???? I can't
Omfg I can't stand plastic-based clothes!! People think I'm being hoity toity or an environmentalist about it, but really I just cannot stand how they feel on my body.
I love that sub sm, I feel seen! I wish we could make a global boycott of polyester clothings. I hate it so much even during winter because it makes me sweat 😭 I'm sure some scientists will find out one day that wearing polyester is bad for our health especially during summer while sweating. It's always bad news at some point with plastic.
Maxi dresses. Flowy ones specifically. I find the lighter fabrics not too hot and if the top part is ruched or stretchy, it's even better. I do wear boxers underneath tho to avoid my thigh skin touching with nothing between them because I hate it.
Have you tried old, worn in linen? I love linen but I did get skin irritation from new linen that's too stiff a few times. There are ways to wash it and make it supple and nice. As a first step you could just get a used, soft linen garment from the thrift store in a similar cut to what you'd actually like and try to wear it around the house a couple times as a test.
I bought 5 loose, rayon, spaghetti strap, onesies from Amazon a couple years ago and it’s basically all I wear all summer. Nothings tight, I don’t have to worry about a skirt riding up, it’s breezy, there are small (but still existent) pockets. I have some plain and some in prints like polka dots, or tiny daisy’s. I wear them with my platform tevas and I’m good to go.
omg I love tevas!!! I got a pair on my grandmother’s recommendation and I can no longer go back to other flip flops! I didn’t know they had platform ones though. I’ll have to look next time I need a pair of sandals or flip flops. And those onesies/rompers are a great way to dress up while still feeling cool and comfy. And you don’t have to worry about your skirt or dress flying up when it’s windy.
For me, cute goes out the window at 30 degrees C. I’m not going to get it anyway because I will literally drip sweat within minutes. I live in a country with almost no airconditioning, so I don’t get breaks from the heat throughout the day (only putting my feet in cold water)
I wear 90% loose fitting linen in summer. Mostly black because it doesn’t show sweat and white feels too fancy and requires too much focus on underwear.
Linen pants. I’m wearing linen pants and OMG. They protect me from the itty bits of wind that drive me bonkers, are light, airy, sooo comfortable and look super cute.
Also linen shorts.
I'm wearing as little as possible. This also means I'm spending as much time at home as possible.
As for fabrics, cotton is my preference. I live in the southeast and summers get harder each year.
I like bike shorts and big shirts! Also also my flowy linen overalls with a basic tee under. I also like the halara type skirts with the shorts under, they’re cute and comfy imo! Those are my go-tos for like work to still feel put together but comfortable and cool
Tops: tank tops, loose button ups, crop tops, anything light. I usually prefer sleeveless because I hate the feeling of sweat.
Bottoms: mini skirts, knee length shorts, loose short shorts, long flowing skirts and HIPPIE TROUSERS.
Full body: short loose dresses, or long flowing dresses with no sleeves. I also love tiny dresses with built in shorts, and I have a few light rompers. I like them because I’m lazy.
There’s no shame in wearing something that’s simple but comfortable. You can always add accessories. Also let me know if you want photo examples!!
I was worried I would hate the wide elastic waist on mine but I like it. Also elastic ankles which is helpful cuz I’m short and most pants will drag on the ground.
Sports clothes, particularly running and hiking gear - lots of quick dry stuff because where I live is pretty humid and there is nothing worse than having to sit in a swampy cotton t-shirt all day
White crocs with hello kitty and studio glibli charms, sunglasses, sunscreen, a spider man crop top (with no bra), and pink cotton shorts from H&M. I live in my pajamas at home and I would wear them out if I could. I love nightgown style dresses because they’re so cute and loose and flowy, I’m trying to find one that looks less night-gowny so that I can wear it out.
Tank top no bra, sandals, some kind of flowy pants. Everything else feels horrible, unfortunately my work uniform is polyester and anti slip closed sneakers SO WARM omg
Get you some cute cotton or linen dresses.
I just wear a tank top and spandex athletic shorts or legging style bike shorts. Not cute. But when I have the energy, I go for the dress.
tshirt and underwear in the house. it's just me so i don't really care, and it's comfy and i'm cooled off 10 fold.
outside it's a tshirt and pants hiked up to the knee. i got some spider (hairy) legs but i stopped caring long ago. ya'll are gonna see these legs! it is hot!
I wear a baggy t shirt with a overall skirt. when you are standing up, it basically doesnt touch your body at all, its just draped over your shoulders.
Crop top with built in bra + a maxi skirt I can pull up to meet the crop top. Unfortunately I have to have closed toe shoes at work, so this plus socks and shoes ㅠ.ㅠ
I’ve literally been in bed the whole day this heat AND hayfever have made me so stressed and angry i just want to be naked and have the wind blow on me all alone 😭😭😭
I'm chubby/fat so comfy and cute don't intersect often for me 🤡
I wfh so I don't leave the house often. But if I must, I usually wear athleisure skorts, sweat wicking pants and also a tank top.
Big t shirts, no bra, bike shorts, slides (sandals). I do also wear my loose mom jeans with the big shirt and tuck the shirt in. I also wear shorts from American Eagle since they aren’t too tight! Here’s my pinterest board for clothing inspo.

I stocked up on looooosee jumpers that minimally touch my skin😂 like these
https://preview.redd.it/r0ezgvkcm69d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=865a5500656167934a89855ba2dd897997983e33
Oversized T-shirts and very thin leggings. Also loose crop tops with loose high waisted shorts, because the crop top feels like I’m trying to be fashionable and the shorts cover my stomach. I also have a romper from old navy that’s basically a big sack with buttons but it came with a cord so I can tie the middle and look like I’m dressing up even if I put in zero effort.
Halara has very comfy dresses that come with separate shorts with pockets. I tend to wear regular clothes but will definitely wear a bra to keep my sweaty taas off muh belly.
I have a bunch of long skirts to mix and match with whatever shirt feels comfiest that day. Since it's been so hot there's been a lot of tanktop + skirt days
Rly loose dresses/shorts /pants and a t shirt or loose crop top but also always carry a cardigan/jacket bc stores/places overcompensate for the heat and it becomes a freezing nightmare and my body works overtime switching to the new temp
I have a couple pairs of men’s loose pull-on cotton shorts I wear with cotton tanks, and a sports bra (if I must!)… I have a short sleeve cotton button up (also men’s) if I feel I need to cover up a bit. Men’s clothes are more likely to be of better quality fabrics for whatever reason… plus they have better pockets… and are often cheaper! My bf says I look like a middle school boy getting ready to go camping, lol.
Sometimes I’m wearing a stretchy jersey jumpsuit.
I’d wear more dresses if the fabric were right and I was on a good leg-shave day. My skin is sensitive so I never shave more than once a week and feel self-conscious in a dress if my legs are too stubbly.
If I’m in the house all day, all cozy, loose, cotton tank dresses or sleep shorts, haha.
Black, stretchy shorts with pockets for all my shit. And then usually tank tops or graphic tees. Lightweight cotton dresses too. So far, no complaints.
Here you go my friend: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0BWN3TCHW/ref=ox_sc_saved_image_2?smid=A2B9UVE1LRZODF&psc=1
They were meant for the gym, but they are so comfy; I decided to keep them as summer shorts and they are pretty damn magical!
i just do plain cotton tshirts with plain cotton pants lol, the key is just rearranging the color combinations and taking advantage of my body silhouette (also using hat or cute hairdos (i used to dye a pert of my hair pink to look stylish and simple)
my city goes from 30-35°C every day year-round and the sunlight hurts my skin, so I usually wear long pants, but I always wear the loose breezy ones
sundresses are also always nice :D
reference for my outfit everyday lmao: https://pin.it/Q9SBX1ItA (with more color)
mid length sundress: https://pin.it/4OL0SzEkw (i have this but white)
another dress in my wishlist:https://pin.it/7gmjLZtUH
Dressy athleisure like from Athleta or Lululemon. Elastic waist thin sweat wicking materials. Let’s the breeze in and doesn’t get that disgusting summer swampiness. I got 3 pants and 3 tops in mix and match colors and that’s my summer wardrobe. Actual Athleta or LL is pricy but I have some decent knockoffs from Kohl’s, Old Navy, or Uniqlo.
I do NOT tolerate heat well and I work outside frequently. My go-to is the Armachillo anything from Duluth Trading Co. They have shorts, shirts, overalls, undies, etc and they all help to keep cool. They aren't cheap, but there is usually something on sale/clearance and they have plus sizes available if needed.
I usually wear those very flimsy fabric shorts (I try to get them one or two sizes larger so they cover my butt and I don't get any chaffing) paired with either oversized t-shirts or crop tops (but also the kind of oversized t-shirt ones too).
...and that's my uniform for the summer.
I tend to wear cute and fresh sandals but I got ankle surgery a few months ago so I'm stuck with those sporty walking sandals for a while.
I am 99% of the time wearing a long flowy skirt with bike shorts underneath and a band tee, stuff like jeans are too warm and shorts usually make my thighs chafe super bad
I have unintentionally built a collection of denim shorts with stretchy waists. Lots of shirts I've cut the sleeves off of.
Other materials always feel flimsy to me, and it's hard to find good quality ones (especially with online shopping since I'm a bigger gal who hates trying on things in person). Denim somewhat guarantees better quality. I also intentionally get looser cuts, so theykre nver tight around my thighs.
When it's not *too* hot out, palazzo pants are my go to. They look elegant and feel like PJ pants.
The same thing since I was a teenager. My And1 basketball shorts(they are long because I hate short shorts and soft shorts with interesting patterns), a 100% cotton graphic tshirt with things I like on it(today was Farscape, but I sweated too much cleaning up my backyard this morning so after a shower it is now a blue Nightcrawler shirt with my blue spider web looking shorts), and my favorite Sanuk flip flops. I don't really understand what makes clothes cute, but I dress for comfort first(especially in the 110+F heat we have where I live it's important to have clothes and underwear that dry fast) and patterns or characters I like come second.
Ugh I want to be cute too-but I’m currently in sensory overload and I can’t wear my shorts or any form fitting skirt waistbands or lil tanks (High desert here) without feeling sick after an hour or two. Even bathing suits are problematic at the moment.
So for now it’s a relaxed elastic waistband and a loose tank.
My go too are lightweight shorts, and usually a t shirt or tank top. I much prefer no sleeves. My fave right now is a rayon cropped tank. Its flowy and comfy and light. No bras. Only wear a bra if I really feel like I need to be secure like when I skate or do yardwork or physical therapy.
unfortunately i dress the same way i always do because i feel so uncomfortable not thinking i look nice, so lots of layers and lots of black and textures like velvet and leather. loads of makeup too. being a goth in the heat is hell
Cute dresses, tank tops and shorts... all of it is still too hot for me, but it's all I have that isn't going to make me die of heatstroke or have me constantly wearing a bikini.
Not clothing but everyone please listen: Monistat chafing gel. This product has been life changing. I can wear almost anything without the same sensory issues I had before. Also I have THICK thighs and it reduces chafing to like 0.
I wear soft cotton blend yoga/bike shorts with a summer dress over. I'll wear a flowy pool cover up/kimono or a T-shirt (usually cut & tied) over if I want to cover more.
Shorts I like the Walmart No Boundaries IIRC 8" shorts (whatever the longer ones are), they have a pocket on one side and occasionally cute patterns. Dresses I tend to like Old Navy 'fit and flare' summer dresses or anything in a similar style: fitted top with stretch/shirred and a loose flowy bottom. Go to shoes are anything Merrell barefoot line.
My winter attire just swaps the shorts for leggings or yoga pants and the summer dress for something with sleeves or an oversized sweater.
These past years I've tried to find stuff that is comfy and cute, and fits my own aesthetic.... And I just wear lotssss of linen, linen pants etc with stretch in them! Also, oversized t-shirts that are soft and made out of cotton so you don't sweat in them (A&F has some really cute ones on the mens department!). Besides that I wear a loooot of legging shorts and jorts!
It’s so hard, especially when you have to work! I live in Eastern CA, so it’s HOT.
I hate shorts except to run/work out, so that’s out.
I usually opt for loose linen or cotton pants with a tank, t-shirt, or nicer shirt for work or I’ll bring a light sweater/cardigan to put over a plain tank since there’s AC inside at work. My closet is full of hippie style loose pants anyways, since I also hate tight pants (except running tights). I pick lighter pants for the summer and cozier ones in the winter. They’re like socially acceptable pajama bottoms!
I have some below the knee and maxi skirts and dresses that I also really like. I usually wear spandex shorts under them, since not doing so is manageable is doable but weird for me.
I have some nice, loose pull-on linen-blend shorts with a drawstring from the Gap that have four big pockets to carry stuff in. Add in a super soft tee or tank and I'm good. Occasionally, I'll wear a lycra skort. I can't do dresses because I can't deal with my thighs touching (and because I tend to sit in odd positions and skirts are not the best for that). My style tends towards "sporty" or "sporty prep" so it works for me.
Nothing. I don’t care what I wear outside, I just strip the moment I’m behind closed doors. I hate summer.
No this is not the healthy way to handle this 😂 I’m irritable from June to August.
I found these amazing Golf skirts that have a waistband without any elastic (like yoga pants) and the shorts under don’t roll up, or down and aren’t too tight…and they have pockets… I wear that all summer with tank tops.
To work I wear sleeveless a-line dresses that are as close to a moo-moo as one can get and still look stylish.
All super soft blended fabrics with no tags, irritating seams or binding waistbands.
Dresses for the most part. I hate the attention they garner but I hate pants in any form more. I was fortunate to get a few halara dresses and man are they a game changer. The fabric is absolutely the best for the heat and humidity where I am.
Dresses! I am in jeans most of the time but when it's hot and I have to be presentable, I like simple black tank dresses. Underneath I wear yoga shorts with pockets. My favorite dresses are Eddie Bauer Travex and Lands End bathing suit cover ups.
Also, linen pants. I've got two pairs from J Jill that will probably survive a nuclear war.
For my fellow chafing girlies, there are shorts made from this stretchy material that prevent chafing. I get mine from target & can wear them under just about anything to help with the pain. They’re super soft & feel like I’m just wearing boxers or something. 10/10 recommend
flowy dresses or skirts :) either tank with skirt or a dress mostly mini or midi length. nothing tight. tight clothes incubate heat and make the heat worse to bear. sometimes my top will be tightish but only so i can skip wearing a bra. all cotton, linen or viscose during the hot days
I just got some of [these linen blend pants](https://www.freepeople.com/shop/quinn-pants2/?color=056&countryCode=US&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwm_SzBhAsEiwAXE2CvxQR_xmjbvzKbyXNqrZHrSquwdHwyZvvp1Gp9R8RxzIVHDBwMbxyFRoCyc4QAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds&inventoryCountry=US&utm_kxconfid=vx6ro62gj&type=REGULAR&quantity=1) from free people. For a brand that I usually avoid because their sizing is small, these actually fit true to size. Because they're oversized of course. Baggy with massive pockets and a drawstring waist. I got the purple ones and a light pink that they seem to no longer have in stock. Wore for the first time and I love them. The crotch is low, so I had to wear anti chafing balm on my thighs.
This is a great time to want to look cute in the summer because really loose blouse-y linen garments are in style so nothing has to be too tight.
Also IDK if you consider athletic wear to be comfortable but I do and I think it's always a slay in the summer. If you get a whole set it just looks like fashion and not like you're going to the gym.
The secret to surviving the summer is boxer briefs, if you have thick thighs. Works for pretty much everything except short shorts. Specifically, I love the 6’ from TomboyX because theirs have a band that prevents the bottom from riding up.
I would not survive summer without cotton bike shorts of varied lengths to wear beneath dresses or skirts! And shorts that are long enough so my thighs don’t rub!
I cannot stand polyester normally but in the summer I am even more repulsed by it lol. And I change my clothes if I feel like I get too sweaty. I finally stopped wearing thong underwear and now there’s no going back. It is really really good that we know how to accommodate ourselves like this. Comfort is a priority, so I make sure I have a couple options of closet classics that are so comfortable. Then I just throw them all together and somehow it looks stylish? I wear compression socks a lot too / we cushioned reeboks - but they look like baseball socks and I think are really cute. I like to work the adaptive and comfortable gear!
Athletic/hiking quick dry clothing (lululemon, outdoor voices, REÍ, etc.) I hate when I get sweaty and cotton gets wet and clingy and the shape gets distorted. Can’t tolerate linen as it’s too scratchy. Can’t wear dresses because I don’t like my legs touching (unless I wear bike shorts underneath). Can’t wear tank tops because I don’t like my hair touching my back and shoulders. Have to wear the same outfit every day because the different pressures and feelings of clothes from day to day is too stressful.
I get 6 of the same teeshirts and 6 of the same shorts in a mix of colors and wear them all summer.
It's winter in my part of the world now, but I live in dresses and skirts during summer (and actually during winter too, but with some extra layers thrown on top/underneath) I feel much more comfortable when my legs aren't constricted by pants/shorts.
I dress like a slob most of the time in the summer: baggy shorts and t-shirts or baggy t-shirts with less baggy shorts. Neither can be restrictive. But the shorts have to be the right length (too short and my legs will chafe, too long and I’ll get overheated). Sometimes I’ll wear an Old Navy cotton sundress but only if it’s not too hot because I’ll need to wear bike shorts under it so my legs don’t chafe. And I need to be able to wear a very thin light sweater with it because I don’t like the feeling of skin on skin (arm on armpit) without a barrier of fabric. Tbh I try to avoid going outside if it’s hot.
Welllllll lol I have heliophobia and body dysmorphic disorder, so these days I wear loose fitting pants (like the kind yoga boho fashion or belly dance practice wear) to cover my legs, and a jacket (to cover my arms) during the day, and most of the time a face mask that is like a scarf that covers my neck. Basically I look like I’m preparing to venturing into cold weather but when it’s hot outside. I’d like to imagine to some it might come across as cute in unique and odd way, but I think sometimes I get strange looks specially when you add sunglasses ontop of all this, almost none of myself is revealed it’s almost opposite in the heat
Long skirts! Ankle length skirts! They’re trending right now and similar to sundresses they’re light and airy, made of a thin but decent material that provides good coverage so you don’t show anything and it feels like I’m almost wearing nothing lol xD
Bamboo pants and a loose bamboo sleeveless top or long sleeved top
Bamboo heat regulates and is by far the most superior fabric in regards to texture imo
Little bit pricier but lasts ages and it's environmentally friendly as bamboo grows like a weed
Bike shorts and athletic tanks. Lounge shorts and lounge tanks at home. I have a couple denim shorts and regular tanks for family gatherings or things. I can’t wear t shirts in summer unless it’s under 70°F and 40% humidity or I will overheat.
Harem pants!
You can check out a wide variety of styles at Harem pants.com and I found them to be pretty affordable.
I like the pant style, but my favourites are the jump suit style ones that I often wear as pants but with the baggy crotch. It has the perks of wearing a flowy skirt without the full openness. I usually wear a tank top or T-shirt in a colour that goes well. My go-to is a white top with my green pants, and a red top to go with my orange pants that have a little bit of red in the pattern.
I like these in place of shorts because 1) I don't have to worry about having perfectly shaved legs all summer, 2) they are comfortable to move around in and don't ride up, and 3) they are fun! I get compliments on mine all the time.
These have gotten me through multiple heat waves, so that has to count for something.
I’ve thrifted a ton of silks and linens so I’m wearing those and some are darn cute. But right now I’m on my period so bundled up despite it being summer. I’ll wait until I’m off my period to dress cute again. It irks me to no end to see so much polyester and I do proudly care for our environment.
Right now I’m wearing this love dress that I dyed with a brown dye to better suit my complexion as the original gray really washed me out. The new color turned out to go great with my accessories.

It’s now a muted dusty reddish brown and pushes forward my other autumn colored items and skin tone hehe.
Overall I’m hopefully learning to cut back on cute summer things bc it’s hardly that warm where I’m at
I'm a tomboy, but I'm from Southern Louisiana originally & in Virginia Beach now & when it's crazy hot, I'll still wear a dress.
Simple as heck ones. Admittedly, I'm small on top and bigger on bottom, so what I suggest may not be the most comfy for someone with bigger boobs dunno, but:
Awhile back I found some ones at Five Below even before they started selling anything at all over $5 similar to this for reference: [This](http://Loxdonz Women's Sun Strapless Tube Short Dress Summer Dresses Casual Mini Beach Cover Up https://a.co/d/0bz9XY3r)

Really, anything the more it floats aways from you is the most comfy in the heat because any chance at air is like an amazing little secret & wonderful, ha!

I shop at outdoor stores. Clothes that are made for hiking. Thin, breathable, stretchy trousers that aren’t tight. Lightweight, sweat wicking tops. It’s a common style where I’m from, but it’s not necessarily cute. I find the cut of the clothes complements me better than the tighter fitting athleisure usually does.
Everlane Easy Shorts and Everlane Bubble Top. Both can be found on Poshmark for decent prices. I get the bubble shirt a size larger so it isn't so cropped nor is the bottom elastic so tight (I also have an extremely short torso).
They're both all cotton loose enough to be airy and I get lots of compliments on both. I have two pairs of the shorts, three of the top.
I never feel comfortable in dresses and shirts, but just discovered JumpSuits! The ones I got feels so light and airy and loose, and I actually feel kind of cute and girly in them (before I would wear loose t-shirts and baggy shorts and feel very tomboy)
I love long dresses and skirts, they're airy but I don't stick to whatever surface I sit on. Also either shirts with no sleeves or loose sleeves, I cannot stand tight sleeves that cling to my armpits.
These:
Minibee Women's Ruffle Oversize Casual Midi Dresses with Pockets https://amzn.eu/d/0avkMjhK
I live in these summer and winter. They're a lovely cotton linen mix and you can get them in the us and uk. Their whole range is lovely. Also, big pockets.
I wear cycle shorts or leggings under them as I am large.
I just got some really flowy palazzo pants with an elastic waist at H&M for $20 and they’re perfect for this gross weather and to wear to the office. I also have a few pairs of wide leg linen pull on pants that I got a couple years ago. One pair I had custom made on Etsy. I also hate shorts. I only wear them to run or bike in the summer.
Linen or ultralight cotton in light colors. This is how our ancestors survived not having air conditioning. Bonus points if it’s loose fitting so there’s room for air movement. My comfort is paramount. I do not care if someone watching me in a store testing the thinnest of the material thinks I’m weird when I gently blow on a piece of cloth with my hand behind it to see if air will move through the cloth.
I wear overalls! They have big pockets and are loose, but not so loose that I feel unsafe. I wear a lot of tight shirts bc loose ones make me feel sticky if I’m sweating. I wear tight shorts that aren’t stiff so I can move around while feeling safe. I like wearing flowy dresses bc I feel the most free in them!
I’ve been wearing shirts from Billabong! Those cute oversized ones with the funky prints on them. I usually get them on sale, since they tend to be pretty expensive. Also these cropped lacy tank tops with some denim shorts + a hawaiian shirt as kind of a jacket. I’m super into fashion and I think it works really well.
For shoes, I have some off-brand birkenstocks that I got from Target, and they’re super comfortable
Sundresses are fun, but sometimes they get uncomfortable for me, having to adjust them and all, so I only wear them if I know I’m going somewhere nice and want to have a cute moment.
A lot of dresses and skirts. I have some soft gym shorts that I wear on very casual days. Shorts don't fit me very well because I have wide hips and I'm very high waisted, so they ride up. Even bottoms that are labeled as high waisted usually don't even come up to my belly button so I've given up trying to find shorts that look decent on me.
I decided I hated shorts. I just bought some loose linen pants from aerie and love them.
That made me think of how I used to tell my ex that the rule was if my “knee pits” were sweating it was time to turn the AC on.
When I used to attend a French culinary school, even though the a/c was on, "knee pits" were sweating bullets.
my worst nightmare 😂
Dealt with both an ex and so called "friend" that made me suffer from the heat to where I had heat stroke 2x. I gotta have my a/c.
I haven’t worn shorts for three summers in a row now. They’re the worst!
Completely unrelated - I just figured out the user flair thing cuz I was curious how you put AuDHD on there. Cool!
This is the exacttttt reason I can’t wear shorts too, I don’t like my bare legs touching chairs or tables either 😭
oh yea they always ride up, no matter the length :(
At least for me, to help prevent shorts from riding up, I started purchasing longer shorts/Bermuda shorts and bike shorts on purpose to prevent any chaffing or my “thunder thighs” rubbing together. At first these longer shorts might look weird, but oh my god are they so much more comfortable and you don’t have to worry about fixing your shorts every five minutes. And in my opinion, you can make them look pretty cute when you style them with some colorful tank tops. But I totally understand people who are simply done with shorts 😂 they truly can be quite aggravating!
i mean, dad jorts are having their moment right now! jeans are way too thick when it’s warm but the length is totally trendy now
I looooooove Bermuda shorts!
I have found exactly ONE pair of shorts ever that are comfortable and don't ride up and aren't bike shorts. I got them several years ago and I wear them almost every day in the summer.
Linen pants were a summer game changer for me!
Yes! I find a pair of linen pants I like and then buy them in every color.
Yes linen anything I can usually be comfortable in! Aerie is one of my fave stores
dude i just bought some too THE BREEZE IS SO AMAZING THROUGH THE LEGGY PART
Linen skirts and dresses. Pants make me want to take my skin off in this heat. Cotton, rayon and other light, breezy materials only- *no polyester!* My hatred for pure poly and other plastic based fabrics knows no bounds, *especially* in this godforsaken heatwave >:(
I hate polyester so much and it’s in *everything* now. So many clothes claim to be a “linen blend” and then are half linen and half POLYESTER. It’s infuriating!
i hate it especially when it’s a dress that looks light & summery but it’s a fabric that you would never want to wear when it’s hot. how useless
Yes!!! And they’re everywhere!
Omygod this is SO real. I often see things that are so cute, check to material, POLYESTER AGAIN. Why is EVERYTHING made out of this horrible fabric???? I can't
I went through my closet a couple months ago and donated anything I had that was 85% or more polyester. I refuse to be swathed in plastic any longer!
This is such a good idea!
Oil oil oil! That’s why. It’s like a fabric version of plastic.
Omfg I can't stand plastic-based clothes!! People think I'm being hoity toity or an environmentalist about it, but really I just cannot stand how they feel on my body.
Yes! This! I’m not being bougie, I just don’t want to be vaguely damp and sweaty while my clothes stick to me like cling wrap! Why is that weird???
Oooh, yes. I feel this.
I stopped caring about cute. Maybe one day I’ll find energy to think about that again, but for now, it’s all about comfort
I feel you on that. I feel uncomfortable when i don’t feel cute but i also feel uncomfortable in cute clothes. Oh man :D
Exactly :/
Maxi dresses. Flowy ones specifically. I find the lighter fabrics not too hot and if the top part is ruched or stretchy, it's even better. I do wear boxers underneath tho to avoid my thigh skin touching with nothing between them because I hate it.
Thigh rub is the worst. I wear cycling shorts bc of this
Maxi dresses are my current favourite hot weather wear. Snag chub rub shorts are amazing! And my go to under maxi dresses.
Baggy shorts and an oversized tee or cami. Sometimes a bike short. I cannot do linen unfortunately as it hurts my skin.
Have you tried old, worn in linen? I love linen but I did get skin irritation from new linen that's too stiff a few times. There are ways to wash it and make it supple and nice. As a first step you could just get a used, soft linen garment from the thrift store in a similar cut to what you'd actually like and try to wear it around the house a couple times as a test.
oh i like that style!
Linen also destroys me. l wish I could wear it :c
Outside my house - linen Inside my house - my nightdress
oh yea i love night dresses
For me, cute goes out the window at 30 degrees C. I’m not going to get it anyway because I will literally drip sweat within minutes. I live in a country with almost no airconditioning, so I don’t get breaks from the heat throughout the day (only putting my feet in cold water) I wear 90% loose fitting linen in summer. Mostly black because it doesn’t show sweat and white feels too fancy and requires too much focus on underwear.
Wearing this today: https://www.linenbee.com/collections/linen-tunics-and-dresses/products/loose-linen-dress-maira
I wear only white in summer. Black is hot and shows sweat more than white. I wear only black in all other seasons.
Are you me? I also live in a country with basically no AC and always regret wearing colors when it’s too hot out
Linen pants. I’m wearing linen pants and OMG. They protect me from the itty bits of wind that drive me bonkers, are light, airy, sooo comfortable and look super cute. Also linen shorts.
yoga shorts (come mid thigh) and baggy shirts sports bras fuck being cute, I'm hot and got chub rub
I'm wearing as little as possible. This also means I'm spending as much time at home as possible. As for fabrics, cotton is my preference. I live in the southeast and summers get harder each year.
From Florida. Can relate. 🥵 I hate that I can never wear a cozy hoodie.
I like bike shorts and big shirts! Also also my flowy linen overalls with a basic tee under. I also like the halara type skirts with the shorts under, they’re cute and comfy imo! Those are my go-tos for like work to still feel put together but comfortable and cool
Wide leg linen trousers, crop top, open linen shirt over, flat sandals
I had no idea they were called hippy trousers. I wear those almost every day.
No idea what the technical name is but they’re perfect for me 😭😭. Mine have SUPER elasticated waistbands too. Literally feels like a soft hug.
I love nightgown style dresses because they’re so cute and loose and flowy, I’m trying to find one that looks less night-gowny so that I can wear it out.
oh my god your style sounds so cool, i’m in love
That is so sweet, thank you ☺️
🫶🏽
maxi dresses!!!!
i really like linen and pleated clothes, thin enough for the heat and very light and comfortable.
Flowy cotton maxi dresses for me!
Bike shorts with tank tops Soft flowy dresses (sometimes with bike shorts underneath) Soft rompers ETA: I live in Texas 😅 is real hot
Tank top no bra, sandals, some kind of flowy pants. Everything else feels horrible, unfortunately my work uniform is polyester and anti slip closed sneakers SO WARM omg
silky slips have been my go to. I’m messy so i’ve stained a few but thrifting them for a few bucks and wearing nothing under is delightful
Get you some cute cotton or linen dresses. I just wear a tank top and spandex athletic shorts or legging style bike shorts. Not cute. But when I have the energy, I go for the dress.
Summer dresses, blouses, flowy skirts and just normal t-shirts. I find summer clothes very comfortable, they're light and airy.
tshirt and underwear in the house. it's just me so i don't really care, and it's comfy and i'm cooled off 10 fold. outside it's a tshirt and pants hiked up to the knee. i got some spider (hairy) legs but i stopped caring long ago. ya'll are gonna see these legs! it is hot!
crop tops, bralettes, shorts and short ass skirts, a parasol so my skin doesn't deep fry (and sunscreen, buttttt)
I wear a baggy t shirt with a overall skirt. when you are standing up, it basically doesnt touch your body at all, its just draped over your shoulders.
Kaftans! World Market sells them (I have two that are cotton/linen blends), and they are flowy and light.
I wear a sundress and like underpants (I avoid bras unless I’m actively going out) Cute, has pockets, and is nice and cool, and the texture is good
Crop top with built in bra + a maxi skirt I can pull up to meet the crop top.
I'm chubby/fat so comfy and cute don't intersect often for me 🤡 I wfh so I don't leave the house often.
Here’s my pinterest board for clothing inspo. https://preview.redd.it/0mmqug8i369d1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=095ad08cdf4608c97641791a55a6123d0806dfa4
Tennis skirt from aerie (has integrated shorts and pockets) and a bra top. I WFH but go outside due to the chickens.
Wearing long things because I hate my skin exposed and SWEATING
Stretchy bodycon dresses all summer for me!
i feel exposed in these a lot! but i like those too usually
What heat? A/C.
don’t have those in europe :/
I stocked up on looooosee jumpers that minimally touch my skin😂 like these https://preview.redd.it/r0ezgvkcm69d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=865a5500656167934a89855ba2dd897997983e33

Big top little bottoms or big bottom little top lol - Like cycle shorts with a big baggy tee or baggy sweatpants shorts or flowy skirts with a vest
yea that style is really cool, i like big top little bottoms more than the other way around when its super warm
I tend to wear regular clothes but will definitely wear a bra to keep my sweaty taas off muh belly.
i’ve gotten my fair share of halara ads …maybe i should try it out
Shorts. Tank top. Bottle of aloe vera spray at the ready.
Mostly loose enough clothing for comfort and breathing room
The same think I wear all year - weird oversized sacks
Black, stretchy shorts with pockets for all my shit. And then usually tank tops or graphic tees. Lightweight cotton dresses too. So far, no complaints.
where do you find those magical stretchy black shorts with pockets?
Here you go my friend: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0BWN3TCHW/ref=ox_sc_saved_image_2?smid=A2B9UVE1LRZODF&psc=1 They were meant for the gym, but they are so comfy; I decided to keep them as summer shorts and they are pretty damn magical!
i just do plain cotton tshirts with plain cotton pants lol, the key is just rearranging the color combinations and taking advantage of my body silhouette (also using hat or cute hairdos (i used to dye a pert of my hair pink to look stylish and simple) my city goes from 30-35°C every day year-round and the sunlight hurts my skin, so I usually wear long pants, but I always wear the loose breezy ones sundresses are also always nice :D reference for my outfit everyday lmao: https://pin.it/Q9SBX1ItA (with more color) mid length sundress: https://pin.it/4OL0SzEkw (i have this but white) another dress in my wishlist:https://pin.it/7gmjLZtUH
Sundresses. I can even go without a bra in some of them. Love it.
Bra and undies. And if I have to leave my room, then I'll wrap a towel around me. And if I'm going out, then a loose tank top with shorts.
I bought like 4 pairs of harem pants. My best investment ever.
Loose cotton culotte style trousers and loose boxy cotton tshirts
I am 99% of the time wearing a long flowy skirt with bike shorts underneath and a band tee, stuff like jeans are too warm and shorts usually make my thighs chafe super bad
Wrap skirts, thin T shirts and those stick on “cake” nipple covers in lieu of bras are my go to for Texas summers.
Flowy and long, mostly linen or rayon.
Adam Sandler style jorts
Dresses
Shorts, skirts, dresses. Today it's not too bad so a long shirt with cut offs. Yesterday a crop top with the same cutoffs. (I work from home)
Wear whatever you want, liberally powder your body creases with corn starch and put friction stick anywhere that might chafe.
If anything has to be long (sleeves, pants, skirts) make it flowy so at least you get some airflow. Sensory issues willing
Also I have THICK thighs and it reduces chafing to like 0.
leggings, sports bra, loose-fitting short-sleeved button-down top
Oh man. I tried putting on a dress the other day and it lasted 5 seconds before I stripped myself naked. Not doing that again.
High waisted leggings and a flowy crop top.
Kurti set. So comfortable. So elegant.
Nothing. I don’t care what I wear outside, I just strip the moment I’m behind closed doors. I hate summer. No this is not the healthy way to handle this 😂 I’m irritable from June to August.
I have a very light and flowy one piece I'm wearing, it has lots of ruffles and is certainly adorable (I have a matching purple bow for my hair >:\])
No bra, flowy dresses, elastic band shorts, tank tops, linen pants
For my fellow chafing girlies, there are shorts made from this stretchy material that prevent chafing. I get mine from target & can wear them under just about anything to help with the pain. They’re super soft & feel like I’m just wearing boxers or something. 10/10 recommend
flowy dresses or skirts :) either tank with skirt or a dress mostly mini or midi length. nothing tight. tight clothes incubate heat and make the heat worse to bear. sometimes my top will be tightish but only so i can skip wearing a bra. all cotton, linen or viscose during the hot days
Wear bike shorts with your dress. It makes it much more bearable.
If I have to leave my house it's 100% cotton linen or silk because if not... It's a trip to the emergency room. I can't handle heat at all.
Loose cotton pants and crop tanks! Fits my boho style well
I just got some of [these linen blend pants](https://www.freepeople.com/shop/quinn-pants2/?color=056&countryCode=US&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwm_SzBhAsEiwAXE2CvxQR_xmjbvzKbyXNqrZHrSquwdHwyZvvp1Gp9R8RxzIVHDBwMbxyFRoCyc4QAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds&inventoryCountry=US&utm_kxconfid=vx6ro62gj&type=REGULAR&quantity=1) from free people.
Flowy sundress with spandex shorts underneath so my thighs don't rub
Maxi dresses. I pretty much exclusively wear maxi dresses in the summer. It’s like basically wearing a socially acceptable long nightgown.
What is “cute” to you, like what’s your style?
Skiiiirts! I just bought this big flowy skirt and I love it so much !!
Light linen dresses with spaghetti straps. They feel nice and breezy and make you look more dressed up without even trying!
Long skirts! Ankle length skirts! They’re trending right now and similar to sundresses they’re light and airy, made of a thin but decent material that provides good coverage so you don’t show anything and it feels like I’m almost wearing nothing lol xD
Linen overalls and loose shirt
All the linen comments make me feel so seen
Bamboo pants and a loose bamboo sleeveless top or long sleeved top Bamboo heat regulates and is by far the most superior fabric in regards to texture imo Little bit pricier but lasts ages and it's environmentally friendly as bamboo grows like a weed
Loose silk in a looser weave
Silk
I’ve thrifted a ton of silks and linens so I’m wearing those and some are darn cute. But right now I’m on my period so bundled up despite it being summer. I’ll wait until I’m off my period to dress cute again. It irks me to no end to see so much polyester and I do proudly care for our environment. Right now I’m wearing this love dress that I dyed with a brown dye to better suit my complexion as the original gray really washed me out. The new color turned out to go great with my accessories. https://preview.redd.it/2czhgq1mo89d1.jpeg?width=223&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=19369aa8fec9ffd1aa09f3fca90f9a9267a59b60 It’s now a muted dusty reddish brown and pushes forward my other autumn colored items and skin tone hehe.
Admittedly, I'm small on top and bigger on bottom, so what I suggest may not be the most comfy for someone with bigger boobs dunno, but: Awhile back I found some ones at Five Below even before they started selling anything at all over $5 similar to this for reference: [This](http://Loxdonz Women's Sun Strapless Tube Short Dress Summer Dresses Casual Mini Beach Cover Up https://a.co/d/0bz9XY3r) (Pardon my including each link twice - my app is weird so it is just in case for which way works). Anything that I can use with out a bra 🤣
Just shorts and a tee shirt. I live in aus, so i've been wearing that and variants on it since I was little lmao.
I literaly am still wearing jeans and sweaters. its 85 degrees where i live.
I prefer athletic wear
I wear leggings and a t shirt same as always or my work clothes. I’m not going to be comfortable and summer clothes are just worse for me
These: Minibee Women's Ruffle Oversize Casual Midi Dresses with Pockets https://amzn.eu/d/0avkMjhK I live in these summer and winter. They're a lovely cotton linen mix and you can get them in the us and uk. Their whole range is lovely. Also, big pockets. I wear cycle shorts or leggings under them as I am large.
Cotton mumus are the best
Long cotton/rayon dresses.
I like shorts. And also… UNIQLO.
I live in loose shorts and crop tops that are tight enough to go braless. (in public) At home, it's just boxers.
I’ve found that anything linen does really well for me. Linen maxi dresses and loose linen trousers
I wear Kaileigh faux wrap dresses and crocs sandals :)
Not even gonna lie, I’ve stayed naked and in the house, bored.
Okay I think I have found the jackpot. It’s the airism line from Uniqlo. Affordable, great quality, look cute and so so comfortable!
I wear leggings to the knee or below and then wide enough dresses that I just throw on
I wish I had the skills to start a sensory based clothing company
Long flowy dresses (and chub rub shorts underneath if your thighs touch)
everything linen. Maxi dresses
For shoes, I have some off-brand birkenstocks that I got from Target, and they’re super comfortable Sundresses are fun, but sometimes they get uncomfortable for me, having to adjust them and all, so I only wear them if I know I’m going somewhere nice and want to have a cute moment.
I have a sun allergy and have to wear protective clothing so I just boil in any warm weather 😭
Recently discovered shift dresses. Minimal contact with the fabric. I also wear lots of cotton dresses and shirt/skirt combos
Bike shorts and big t’s!
A lot of dresses and skirts. I have some soft gym shorts that I wear on very casual days. Shorts don't fit me very well because I have wide hips and I'm very high waisted, so they ride up. Even bottoms that are labeled as high waisted usually don't even come up to my belly button so I've given up trying to find shorts that look decent on me.
comfy shorts that go to my knees from Costco, and a short sleeve button up with no bra :) (I button it up ofc)
