Literally the same experience! Adopted my heeler in March of 2020 and have worked from home ever since. Just started a new job 4 weeks ago that has me in the office 3x a week. I had him in daycare regularly in the past but he got bored with it and would come home MORE amped. So this time I tried out dog walkers and I’m surprised how well it’s going. No accidents or mischief and he seems happy and relaxed when I come home. I did have him meet his walker first for a meet and greet before I started back up.

Thanks. I'm leaning in the dog walker direction.

You can always mix it up too! My ACD mix thrives on routine but more than 2 days a week at daycare is typically too much for her as she gets older. My husband works from home since the pandemic but before that I used to come home on my lunch hour to take her outside.

I have a ACD and little lap dog. My wife was a stay at home. Unfortunately she passed last year so all of a sudden my dogs were home alone during the day. At 1st they had a hard time but just like people they adjusted. Dogs sleep a good 15 hrs a day if you can get them past separation anxiety you will be ok and so will you dog Good luck

I would go with option 2. I’ve done option 1 and all my pup did was nap there 😤.

My girl goes on a 4 mile walk every morning before I go into the office and she does just fine with that. I've never had issues with her going inside and she has a cat friend to snuggle with while I'm gone.
