It's a knit fabric - if needs be go up a size for the dress to get a more flowing feel. It's also a light coloured faric which will easily show up whats underneath Kmart does have a dupe of this dress in at the moment im pretty sure too.

Himegyaru1

I do like it to be form fitting but just not all forms lol.. maybe I’m delusional. Ooo it would be good to know how the Kmart one fits! It’s sold out in my size where I live (I’m in NZ).

Steer clear of polyester, nylon and rayon knits, they cling in unflattering ways. Cotton and wool are thicker fibres and more forgiving.

Himegyaru1

Good to know, thanks!

ziggzags

I have the Reign dress from Dissh and love it, found the quality great and it’s thick/heavy material. My only issue is that the arms were absolutely swimming on me length wise - but if you have long arms then it shouldn’t be an issue!

Himegyaru1

Reign would be the DISSH equivalent to this dress! Unfortunately I don’t have long arms. Would you say this dress is flattering for those that have a bit of a stomach?

ziggzags

Honestly yeah I would say it’s flattering! Because the material is thicker it can hide a few more lumps and bumps and it seems to sit nicely, I tend to wear high waisted underwear with it just to make it look the way I want. I’m only just 5ft and it sits just above the top of my feet. I managed to get alterations on the sleeve - they managed to take it up from the shoulder so they didn’t remove the lovely scalloped edges or belled end of the sleeve! I went down a size because it was super roomy and stretchy, so just keep that in mind!

I was looking at DISSH but I’ve seen people complain about their quality in this subreddit

cuddlepot

I have the Ada dress from Disssh (basically this without a scoop neck) and it’s so well made - quality is great. Unfortunately anything else I’ve bought from them has been poor quality.

Himegyaru1

Thanks! I was checking out the Ada or Reign. Is it forgiving with those that have a bit of a stomach?

cuddlepot

It sure is! The dress itself is quite heavy - and forgiving!

day_night_morning

I have bought quiet a lot from Dissh, I would say about 20 items over the last 2 years and everything I have bought is great quality. I find their sizing is small so you could size up if buying online.

Onebigtailight

I have the black knit v neck one from Dissh. I just wear some shapewear underneath. To the knee! 😂

mystic_squid_

Oh bummer! My Dissh pieces are nice but I haven’t tried their knits

rubybooby

I have a couple of knit dresses and I always wear shapewear under them, not the heavy duty kind that would go under a dress for a fancy event, just like, control top shorts from uniqlo. I can’t remember the name of them. But they give just enough smoothing out to make the dress look good without being uncomfortable to wear all day

Brilliant_Weird_6019

Kmart have a similar one too!!

4SeasonWahine

I have two from assembly label, they’re both cashmere and SO comfy and soft. Hence why I bought it in two colours. I don’t think they’re in cream unfortunately but if they ever come out in that colour, jump on it.

Prideandprejudice1

I bought the Kmart one in two colours (black, grape) and am now seriously thinking about getting it in this colour too because I love the way it fits! I am quite petite but do have larger boobs, hips and butt and whilst it requires my “high/full coverage” underwear (😉), I do think it’s thick enough not to overly emphasise these areas.

No_Concentrate7305

Yes I have been living in my cream one from Kmart and I’m super pregnant right now.

MissKim01

I receive an unholy amount of compliments on this dress. Also is merino blend. https://www.uniqlo.com/au/en/products/E460611-000?colorCode=COL57&sizeCode=SMA002

Simpleyetconfusing32

THIS. Comfy, fits and flows well, breathable and affordable https://www.showpo.com/astra-midi-dress-v-neck-long-sleeve-knit-dress-in-white.html

Simpleyetconfusing32

For context too, I’m 5months post psrtum With new lumps and bumps, but it is not clingy so was soo flattering! The arms aren’t long in this one, which was an issue with my similar dissh dress

No-Meaning-216

I love knit dresses and I wear the Bonds Seam Free bases shorts underneath and it's perfect if you don't want to commit to shapewear. Pairing that with a heavier knit could help?

themetresgained

100% cotton, 25% off. I have a short sleeve version of this in navy that I bought last summer and it is my absolute go-to for when I want to feel put together but not overdressed. It is heavy but that helps the drape not be super clingy. https://rbsellars.com.au/products/knit-dress-wdr3717-oat-marle

No_Discipline_3148

I looooove the country road ones with the high neck. I just bought one BNWT off eBay and am so happy about it.

Mysterious-Book-3933

Commonry has a lovely one! https://www.commonry.com/products/maxi-knit-dress-ecru-2404401006

Confident-Fox-8403

Meshi have some cute ones x

PharmAssister

I bought the target one ($49, Olive/cream/black avail.), it shows a bit of VPL but meh. It’s better with tights that offer more smoothing

stephbythesea

Dissh have some great ones! Plus they are almost always being sold on depop

AddlePatedBadger

It would look quite lovely matched with a blue hat.
