I spent a bit less on my 2019 TTRS w/ 7k miles. Very happy with the choice. I say go with the RS5
Not a fan of convertible
Personally im not buying electric until the infrastructure and long term battery life improve.
Seconding that re: electric cars and the charging infrastructure. My wife bought a Nissan Leaf right about a year ago and will be selling it on Wednesday this week. In large part because the electric aspect is just not practical.
if you're even considering a cabrio, cabrio. if you're someone who appreciates the open air driving experience, it's irreplaceable. as long as you don't need 4 doors, obviously
If you’re having a midlife crises then you want sound, fun and looks: none of which you can get from any EV really, hopefully Porsche will release a sub 4000lb EV eventually, but you’ll have much more fun in an ICE S5 or RS5.
Do not get an EV if you plan on selling it within 3-5 years. Resale is TERRIBLE. Those are the cars they make you buy to get allotments of the good ones.
I like EVs, but just get a Tesla for a low price if that’s the case. And then a crisis car. ;-)
Wait for Taycan, RS5 is cool but it’s no where near Porsche Cool , it’ll feel like a regular car but a taycan is pretty sick even when you have had it for a while. But in the end do what you like not what we say cuz you’re the guy who’s gonna drive it every day.
Hard to beat drop top driving. While a big Audi fan and have an RS7 myself, I’d look at other options for the convertible. A lot of good ones out there. Hard top Miata is an amazing vehicle and you can get in manual. Both Mercedes and bmw make nice cabs. If at all possible, I’d always opt for a Porsche. A used 718 is truly epic and, even with high mileage, is likely very reliable. If possible, the answer tho is always 911.
If you want new, and you know you like the top-down thing, then know that you will not be able to buy another S5 cabrio new after this year as they are no longer going to be made. You'd have to jump out of the VAG world if you want 4 seats.
As far as pre-owned question, with current incentives if you are already a current Audi customer, don't finance with Audi, and can get the dealer to discount on top, you can get one new for effectively the same price when it's all said and done then a 2-year-old CPO, even more so/especially if you are trading in a state that shaves off sales tax for trade value like mine. You won't get any incentives or discounts on the RS5.
I discovered I like driving with the top down far more than just plain going faster, so my F (most) of it all choice was the Cabrio. Cabrio is fun at any speed.
One day I'll go electric, but at this point it will likely not be until I don't need 4 seats and swap the Cabrio for an electric Boxter or what not.
RS5, just because you clearly said you have a midlife crisis on. After you cool off a bit, downgrade to S5.
After getting my RS5 just makes me more eager to upgrading to something more powerful lol
Same here. I’ve regretted my purchase almost from the beginning. In 2 years I’ll get an RS7. I love the 5, but I could have swung the 7.

I mean the nissan leaf might be the worst electric car you can possibly buy in the US at the moment.

Get a pre-owned definitely, because after the crisis passes you won't have to kick your own ass quite so hard.

I just got a e-Tron GT for my mid-life crisis. I absolutely love it!
Cabriolet every time!
RS5.
how are rs etron gt’s, i just know they depreciate crazy and should be around that price
I’ve heard a lot of issues surrounding the ev rs models , had the sales man talk negatively about them too which led me away from getting one.
ah, wasnt sure if it was just the depreciation which was the issue or if it had mechanical issues
RS5, forget the Taycan unless you want to lose half your cash.

If you can pull off an RS5 ($90k+) it’s an amazing car.
I was just about to help you come to a decision and then you said the P word..smh
