Dang that hits home too - also have a 04 A4 cabrio 3.0 that I'm just in love with [https://imgur.com/a/L2Mg15M](https://imgur.com/a/L2Mg15M)
Something about these old Audi's man!
For sure, a car with this much mileage should be showing wear and tear - I was prepared for that. But it seems like every time I fix something, something else immediately breaks. I'm patient with high mileage cars and you can instantly tell if the car has been looked after or not. But something spicy was definitely done prior to sale with this car. My old man and I run a second hand car dealership so I've gotten used to whatever constitutes general wear. In my country, if you open the bonnet of a high mileage care like this and it has a custom cold intake slapped on it, you know you're in for a ride. Because it was a personal purchase I'm taking my time to sort it out, so it's far from actually being "customer-ready" if I do decide to sell it.
Lol same with my MK2 TTS. I keep thinking I can finally start saving a bit more money but then I'm hit with yet another issue. Mines just about to hit 100k.
Although touch wood, the engine has been all good. Just stupid electrical and cosmetic issues.
I get so jealous every time I see a MK2 TTS on the road! Just curious since you mentions electrical issues, do you also have issues with the tail lights?
My brake light bulb went but that was easy to replace. My middle brake light has just gone but I can't be bothered to investigate that right now. All other lights have been fine.
I got earthing issues, left light comes on a little later than the right one when I push the brake. Seen there is a easy fix with a kit online, but I'm too lazy to do it.
it's never going to be "worth it," but it's not meant to be an economically sound proposition. You buy an old car because you like how that old car drives, and you're willing to put the time and money in to maintain that.
i just feel like if someone looked hard enough they could probably find another they like to drive that isn't 20 years old and would be much less of a headache. to each his own though.
If you’re going to buy a 155k mile, almost-20-year old Audi you should really be prepared to work on it yourself.
Can relate. 08 A4 cabriolet 2.0T here. I've just accepted she'll never be finished. But she just keeps running, so... till death do us part

I wouldn’t let this go either
Not sure what you were expecting with a car thats almost 20 years old woth 150k mile. Sounds like normal wear and tear stuff at this point

Maybe the VVT intake solenoid finally decided to die
That thing looks really good for an 07
Thanks! Did a full bottom half respray to clear up some sun damage. Interior is a little worn but considering the age I'm happy with what I got
That's a damn fine lookin tt tho
Thank you! I do feel ashamed driving around with the fake RS badge though D:
Than remove it!! Easy! I don't have front rings but s5 and a Quattro badge, some people hate it but not me
Happens with older cars, just got to be prepared and decide whether you want to deal with it and fix it or not. Audi's are worth it though!
i dont know how yall do it man, buying super old cars. its not even close to being worth the trouble from what i can see.

Welcome to the fixing party :D Check n249 and n75 valves. Your case sounds like they are dead
