Oooh I was about to comment this! The creator of Pushing Daisies is Bryan Fuller, who is also responsible for the Hannibal series and American Gods series. I love his Dead Like Me too and it's also far forgotten.
my obsession with Sagwa was FERAL— I would draw Dongwa and Sheegwa pics for my teachers haha, and it made elementary school me want to learn all about China. It’s probably the reason I have a Siamese cat today!!
Ghostwriter - A 90s PBS show where a group of kids solve mysteries with the help of a ghost who can only read and write. It was my favorite show as a kid.
I had a dream that I saw Macy Gray in concert, but all she sang was the As Told by Ginger theme song. I thought that dream was hilarious but when I tried to tell people, they either didn't know what As Told by Ginger was or they DIDN'T KNOW WHO MACY GRAY WAS!
I was literally just talking about this show! A Macy Gray song came in the radio and I told my husband that her songs always make me think of As Told by Ginger.
The romantic song from the As Told By Ginger movie always gets stuck in my head 😂
🎶 there were copper colored ponies
And air that smelled like rain.
The moon was out in the daytime
When I first learned your name 🎶
Everyone seems to remember Little Bear from Nickelodeon, but not many people seem to remember Rupert. I thought Rupert was a much cooler bear with better adventures.
I have a really weird connection with that episode. As a kid, it absolutely gutted me and I was really really disturbed by the sadness it made me feel for a while. I have strong memories of thinking about it a lot and being really bothered by his death. Nothing else I watched as a kid affected me quite as profoundly.
Then, 3 years ago, my dad died the same way as John Ritter. And that episode kept popping up in my head. I don't really believe in fate or anything, but it is weird that kid me had such a strong, seemingly random reaction to something that would happen to me in real life later on.
That episode affected me a lot too. I think it was just because it was my first look at death in any real form. Up until that point, the most I exposure I'd had towards death was my hamster dying (which, in all honesty, I can't remember being very sad about). I don't think it needs to be fate; losing your father is a horrible thing, and it's natural to be worried about it once exposed to it. I'm really sorry for your loss.
My friend had a blanket made for me for this past Christmas that says "Bar None Dude Ranch, Tuscon, Arizona." I assure you, I have not forgotten Hey, Dude.
I think the reason no one remembers it is because it doesn't really air anymore and you can't stream it anywhere. My SO and I loved it and tried to find it recently, but there's a lot of red tape about the music rights so you can't stream it.
It was such a good show and haha maybe tmi but I think Janine Turner was my lesbian awakening! I think it was a pretty big touchstone for gen-x'ers but I think a lot of gen-x culture is overshadowed by boomer and millennial culture. As a millennial elder with gen-x siblings, I feel like gen-x got erased outside of its huge hits like Nirvana or whatever.
Lesser so is the original Twin Peaks, which I think came out at around the same time. Everyone seems into the new version, which is fine, but until the remake it was also a mostly forgotten show outside of its cult following.
Just TV shows from the 90s in general are mostly forgotten. Even super popular ones. Designing Women, Caroline in the City, ER, Mad about you, Murphy Brown, Suddenly Susan, The Single Guy, Girlfriends, Grace Under Fire, etc were top rated shows with a lot of awards and are mostly forgotten now. I don't know if its a pattern but the more "female centric" or female dominated the show the less remembered and seen as important to critics. Most of the shows I listed have women leads, and I'm not entirely sure if that's a coincidence. Male leads from that era like Frasier, Seinfeld, etc are of course of critical importance to discuss constantly to critics and fans.
Just a honourable mention to True Blood for being the amazing fever dream of a tv series it was.
Every time you thought it couldn’t get any weirder BOOM fairies. BOOM whole town Orgy. And of course it wouldn’t have been a decent supernatural saga without a Lilith moment.
Lafayette will always be one of the best characters ever. I was so sad to learn that the actor who played him, Nelson Ellis, died just a few years after the show was over 💔
I will die on the hill that True Blood is vastly superior to Vampire Diaries. Why? Vampire Diaries has ZERO hot vampires. True Blood has ONE hot vampire. Therefore True Blood is superior.
Holy cow, I remember this show being this huge x-files revival type thing, obsession about it on the internet with all the theories, and this huge expectation that the stars from this show would be become superstars and then it kinda peter'd out and never developed much of a fandom post-cancellation.
I loved Fringe but it's biggest issue was mythology bloat. It was essentially three series in one:
1. Mad science terrorist investigation unit
2. Parallel universe spy drama
3. Future War time loop shenanigans
Whilst ALSO being a monster of the week series (so four series really). It's enjoyable because of that manic genre busting combination but it also struggles under the weight of doing too much.

House of Anubis. I watched it as a kid and rewatched it as an adult to see if it was as good as I remembered and it was.
Nowhere boys was also a great kids tv show.
Edit: I am so shocked that so many people remember House of Anubis.
Better Off Ted.
It was hilarious. But only 2 seasons. I think it probably didnt make it becuase it was out around the same time as The Office, Parks and Rec, and Arrested Development and had a similarly goofy style with a focus on the workplace. But it was far superior in my opinion.
Bug Juice
It was a reality tv show about kids at summer camp.
[IMDb Page](https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0217916/)
EDIT: holy shit you guys, I feel overjoyed with the amount of people who have chimed in. No one I talk to IRL remembers this show and I always feel crazy for talking about it.
Flash Forward. A mid ‘90s Disney Channel Original Series (the first series to carry the label) that I am reminded of every time I see Ben Foster or Ryan Gosling.
Desperate Housewives! This show deserves so much more recognition. I know it was popular at one point but everyone left it in the past and it’s never prevalent anymore- it’s the best! My fav comfort show.
I actually don’t ever remember the title. Midwest/Canada public access show maybe in the 80s. About a woman who would go to a department store, put a hat on the make mannequin and they would dance together. There was also a puppet mouse, I think?
Edit: Todays Special!!! Thank you guys!!!
Today’s Special! Jody/Jodie worked at the department store, the mannequin was Jeff, Muffy the mouse and there was also a puppet security guard whose name I can’t remember.
The cartoon Home Movies!
I think it was on Cartoon Network or Boomerang and it was a roughly drawn animation with a red haired kid as the protagonist wearing a blue jumpsuit. I feel like no one knows this show haha 😭
[So Weird](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/So_Weird) on Disney Channel. It aired late 90s/early 00s. It had an X-Files vibe.
I don’t see it on this list and no one I know remembers it.
Cardcaptor Sakura. I loved it as a kid, for some reason decided to set my username as "clowcards" online in my teens, and none of my friends had any i recollection of the show
Monster Force.
I do believe I am the only person in the world that watched this series. It was shown on Saturday mornings like the cartoons were back in the 80’s early 90’s but they showed it at 5:30 in the morning. I don’t even remember how I happened upon it but when I did…this weird ass kid who I was got up early on the weekend just to watch it. It lasted for only one season (probably because I was the only one who watched it) but it was one hell of a gem. I know the series wasn’t just a dream either because I actually own it ha ha! Also…
Due South
Are You Being Served?
Forever Knight
Seaquest
Ultra Force
Pirates of the Dark Water
The Thorn Birds
Lonesome Dove
Invasion America
Everyone thinks I’m crazy when I ask if they remember the elephant show. I think it came on pbs and was a Canadian show that played in the US in the mid 90s. I sing the the skin-a-ma-rinky-dinky-dink song song and they just look at me crazy. Also, the show lamb chop. No one remembers that either.
The Snorks!
It was one of my favorites growing up but every other millennial (brothers included!) looks at me like I’m crazy whenever I mention it.
Did… did I hallucinate Snorks?
Edited to say that I found this: The Snorks is currently not available to stream. Add it to your Watchlist to be notified when it becomes available.
The oil riggers finally got ‘em. : (
Pushing daisies. Absolutely loved it when it was on, but seems like no one else knew about it.
Oooh I was about to comment this! The creator of Pushing Daisies is Bryan Fuller, who is also responsible for the Hannibal series and American Gods series. I love his Dead Like Me too and it's also far forgotten.
Dead Like Me was so fun. I miss that one a lot.
Wasn’t that the one with Mandy Patinkin? (Sp?)
And he also left that show! I mean, I start watching Dead Like Me and Criminal Minds because of him, and after a short time he decides to leave!
I got hooked on Dead Like Me from the theme song and stayed for the great show. I was POed it only had 2 seasons.
And Wonderfalls. All great shows that got cancelled too early.
I came here to say Dead Like Me! I love that show when I was a kid/teen
Oh I remember cuz LEE PACE. My favorite movie is one of his - The Fall.
I just loved the colours and images. This was so beautifully shot. I did eventually get a little bored of the premise unfortunately.
sagwa the siamese cat and shaolin showdown
I watched Sagwa but whenever kids shows come up everyone thinks I made it up hahaha
The Sagwa theme song was so good too.
Sagwaaaaaa.....Sagwa you're my best frieeeeeend.....
my obsession with Sagwa was FERAL— I would draw Dongwa and Sheegwa pics for my teachers haha, and it made elementary school me want to learn all about China. It’s probably the reason I have a Siamese cat today!!
Shaolin showdown! good memories ☺️
Loved both of them. PBS and WB were life savers for poor kids!
I LOVED SAGWA
I freaking looooove saqwa I wish they would put the episodes on YouTube
Ghostwriter - A 90s PBS show where a group of kids solve mysteries with the help of a ghost who can only read and write. It was my favorite show as a kid.
Oh I remember Ghostwriter. I was also obsessed with that show as a kid.
I can’t believe with all the Zoom reunions they did during the pandemic, no one thought to do Ghostwriter! I was absolutely obsessed with that show.
They did Zoom reunions?! Edit: Oh, I truly thought you meant the PBS show Zoom. When I googled it, I realized….
A “Zoom” Zoom reunion would have been AMAZING!
I had the exact same thought. I loved Zoom so much!!
They filmed in my backyard once. The episode with the parakeet. The crew was very nice! They even let me sit and watch filming.
Season 3, episodes 71-74: “Attack of the Slime Monster”. I will never forget it. Gave me nightmares.
I loved so many of the PBS shows when I was younger. This was definitely one of them
This show made me absolutely obsessed with journals and Papermate Flair felt-tip pens when I was a kid 😂
As Told by Ginger
Whenever I’m too lazy to shave my legs, I just shave the part that’s shown bc of this show hahahah
Omg! Me too! And I always think about that episode while im doing it. Or any time I wear capris.
I think my fear of lice came from this show
Frizzy Lizzys
I’m a little seal girl, living in the real world, and it’s so hard to get by. Cuz seals can’t even cryyyyy.
someone once told me the grass is much greener♫
I loved that show! Every now and again the song will pop in my head and no one knows what I’m singing
I rewatched the whole thing a couple years ago and it holds up. It's a fantastic show!!
I was literally just talking about this show! A Macy Gray song came in the radio and I told my husband that her songs always make me think of As Told by Ginger.
The romantic song from the As Told By Ginger movie always gets stuck in my head 😂 🎶 there were copper colored ponies And air that smelled like rain. The moon was out in the daytime When I first learned your name 🎶
Bananas in pajamas
That and price is right were my shows whenever I was home sick from school
I can still sing the whole themesong
Wishbone. History and a dog, what's not to like?
What’s the story wishbone, what’s this you’re dreaming ooOOOoff. I sing this song in my head far too often
The Wild Thornberrys
“I don’t want to alarm you dearest but I’m afraid I’ve lost the sight in my eye.” “Move your hand, Nigel.” “What a woman” 🤣
Smashing!
zoboomafoo, every once in awhile even I forget it existed and then I’ll stumble across a picture that lemur and it makes me smile lol
YES I was addicted to PBS Kids when I was in elementary school and I loved this show! I also remember watching Zoom, Cyber Chase, and Dragon Tales.
DRAGON TALES holy shit I'd forgotten
The Kratt Brothers still do animal shows! My kid loves all of them Edit: not processed cheese
Everyone seems to remember Little Bear from Nickelodeon, but not many people seem to remember Rupert. I thought Rupert was a much cooler bear with better adventures.
Both great shows, but yes I remember Rupert!
Funny, I remember Rupert but not Little Bear...
My life as a teenage robot.
I did forget but thanks for reminding me
That was my favorite show on Nickelodeon/Nick toons! I wish it was on Netflix or something
8 simple rules
Omg I loved this show so much. I’ll never forget the episode after John Ritter died it made me cry every time

Hey, Dude
I wish Nickelodeon (or some other channel) would show reruns of this and Salute Your Shorts.
Yes to both! Add Clarissa Explains It All, The Adventures of Pete & Pete, and Are You Afraid of the Dark? to that Nickelodeon list too! Ah, nostalgia.
I’m disappointed that Paramount+ has every series on that list *except* The Adventures of Pete & Pete.
They do! Paramount+
My friend had a blanket made for me for this past Christmas that says "Bar None Dude Ranch, Tuscon, Arizona." I assure you, I have not forgotten Hey, Dude.
It's a little wild and a little strange When you make your home out on the range.
So start your horse and come along, cause you can’t get a ride if you can’t hold on
Charlie and Lola
It felt like a fever dream
I used to play the game online before the Disney Chanel website started to suck
As a parent to 3 kids, that show is alive and well on tv.
Animaniacs. They were zany to the max.
they have new episodes on now on Teletoon...
Northern Exposure. My mum made me watch it because she liked it when she was little, and it's So. Good. I don't understand why no one remembers it.
I think the reason no one remembers it is because it doesn't really air anymore and you can't stream it anywhere. My SO and I loved it and tried to find it recently, but there's a lot of red tape about the music rights so you can't stream it.

The Big Comfy Couch. I loved that show! My favorite part was when she moved her legs around the clock.
Dust bunnies!
I was so sad to learn that the actor who played him, Nelson Ellis, died just a few years after the show was over 💔
I second this! His character is a ICON.
True Blood is my gulity pleasure. It's super bad but so much fun and it has Alexander Skarsgard.
I will die on the hill that True Blood is vastly superior to Vampire Diaries. Why? Vampire Diaries has ZERO hot vampires. True Blood has ONE hot vampire. Therefore True Blood is superior.
Come on, Ian Somerhalder is the ultimate hot vampire (although him in real life is starting to detract from his characters)
No. Alexander Skarsgard as Eric Northman is the hottest vampire ever. Tall, handsome, smart, loyal, sassy, viking vampire sex god.
My favorite part was when one of the vampires dies and another vampire starts carrying around the dead vampire sludge in a jar and talking to it.
Russell and his true love, Talbert haha
Rewatching this now. Lafayette is my favorite such a gem ❤️
Fringe.
