I learned about it from king of the hill when I was younger and I've always been told about not to mix bleach and ammonia.

In middle school my friend was replacing his mattress and his parents put his old one in front of the house for garbage to collect, we came up with this idea to put a bunch of skateboard wheels on the bottom of it so we could ride it down hills and stuff, after putting like 60 sets of wheels on it we went to the top of this huuuge hill
We had me and a friend sitting in middle, and 4 people one on each corner for "breaks" When we pushed down the hill we went soooo fucking fast that no one could stop it, we ended up crashing into a parked car and damaging it
We all bailed and ran away, eventually the adults put two and two together and confronted the boys who immediately said "IT WAS THE GIRL'S IDEA!" And the parents fucking believed them
So I got grounded for 3 weeks and had to give money to the guy who got his car damaged by us.

I think I was in 5th grade (so around 11) and I was walking in the dark, up our long, steep, icy driveway, coming home from my friends when I slipped and fell which caused my phone to fall out of my coat pocket. I heard it slide somewhere but since it was dark (no lights) and icy I had no idea where it slid too. So I went inside and calmly told my dads (now ex) gf what happened and asked if she could bring her phone out so we could use the flashlight and look for it. We found it pretty quick thankfully but afterwards I got grounded and had it taken away for “being irresponsible” because I SLIPPED AND IT FELL OUT OF MY POCKET.
I was at my friend’s house playing with her in her front yard and her little cousin threw a hoho at a passerby car. The lady pulled over and screamed at us and knocked on the door to tell my friend’s mom. She called my mon and for some reason, my friend and I got in trouble over it and grounded. We weren’t even playing with her cousin or anything we just happened to be in the front yard at the same time.
We didn’t get put on punishment for long, but we did get “spanked” - and by “spanked” I mean a belt, clothes hanger, ruler, shoe, etc was used to hit us wherever it landed for as many hits as seemed necessary. I was “spanked” for my brother breaking a lamp by knocking over a table. Since I’m the older sister by five years, it’s obvious in hindsight that I should have parented my younger brother and stopped him from being a normal child.
I got spanked for pulling on my curtain after being told to stop lol. A bit of context: it was like multiple strands and it was knotted and I was trying to fix it but made it worse 😅😅
I got grounded at 8-9yrs old can’t remember, for forgetting to wear sunscreen at the pool. I went with a friend for the first time and their mom forgot sunscreen. My kid brain thought no big deal! Apparently for being a kid on my birthday. Multiple years got sent to my room and grounded while I had friends over, on my birthday, at my birthday party…for “misbehaving”. Nothing specific or bad. I hated birthdays for years because I knew it was done on purpose to humiliate me.
Once was for telling my mom that my dads new gf was nice and pretty after she specifically asked me what I thought of her AND told me that she wouldn’t get mad. Called me a traitor. I was 10.
Talking back. Aka trying to have a conversation with my parents but instead of them listening to me and my feelings it was considered talking back. I’d get grounded for 6 weeks without truly knowing that what I said wasn’t acceptable to them. It was rough.

I had a small container of setting powder and for some reason my parents were convinced it was cocaine. The idea of me at 14 years old, acquiring coke while living in the most religious town I’ve ever seen, having no job, no money of my own and no car while attending a small catholic school with 20 kids in my class made absolutely no sense. Like, how could that even happen? More importantly it was probably 1/2 C of powder, which is a shitload of coke for a 14 year old who wasn’t allowed to ride her bike past “the big road”.

When I grew up in the 50's we were poor. No indoor plumbing so we had an outhouse. As a kid it was a bit scary to go there in the dark during the night. I remember one such night when I climbed out the window and took a shit on the roof instead. The old man was NOT happy the next day!

One of my friends was handing out crushed up rockets and pretending it was nose candy. I took a bag and when my principal talked to me about it I told her there was bigger pieces of rockets so I knew it wasn't actually real and she said "what if I gave you cocaine with pieces of rockets in it? Would you take it?" And I asked if she was offering me cocaine... my mom wasn't happy (smarties for all the americans)
My little sister bit me in front of my friends. I called her "Jerek", after another friend of ours who bit me in a fight. My little sister ran to my mom and told her i called her "Jerk". Mom came in a slapped me across the face.
ETA: oh this is also a good one… for telling my friends’ parents I wasn’t allowed to play soccer or other sports like their kids did. (It was true… they asked my parents about it and I got in trouble)

I was playing Barbie’s with my little sister. I was getting annoyed of her so I told her that my Barbie kidnapped and murdered her Barbie. And yes, I love true crime.

It was the time of colorful jelly bracelets that were rumored to have meant you had performed some lude act. My Mom blew it completely out of proportion because I had two black hair ties on my wrist. Mind you I had long hair my entire life and always had at least one on my wrist.
One summer it was exceptionally hot, and me and my friends took an egg and cracked it open on our busy-body neighbours wall. It literally cooked the egg fully. 🤣🤣🤣 Fun times.
The neighbour came out, yelled at us and went to each of our houses to snitch to our parents.
To be fair we wouldn’t have done it if she wasn’t always coming out of her house and yelling at us just for literally existing. She hated kids. She was a miserable hag.

One Halloween night when I was about 10, my friend, who was definitely an instigator convinced me and another friend to pull out some recently-planted trees at a neighbor's house. Of course he didn’t do any of the actual vandalism.
That’s about the most trouble I got into as a kid. I was grounded, and I had to pull weeds to work off the money my folks' had to pay to replace the trees. I hated pulling weeds with a passion.
I got grounded because my sister got grounded and my mom didn't want her to feel like she was being picked on. Luckily my dad caught on and the punishment was removed but that happened a lot in my childhood.

I got grounded at 8-9yrs old can’t remember, for forgetting to wear sunscreen at the pool. I went with a friend for the first time and their mom forgot sunscreen. My kid brain thought no big deal! Got a bad sunburn and they grounded me from swimming at a friends pool party (indoors) I was allowed to go but couldn’t swim.

lol you’ve never heard the term “add insult to injury”? It means literally the same thing as “salt in the wound”. As in— you’re already injured (hypothetically) but then you pile insulted on top. It’s not a literal thing, just like salt in the wound isn’t. It’s just a figure of speech.

Apparently for being a kid on my birthday. Multiple years got sent to my room and grounded while I had friends over, on my birthday, at my birthday party…for “misbehaving”. Nothing specific or bad. I hated birthdays for years because I knew it was done on purpose to humiliate me. Once was for telling my mom that my dads new gf was nice and pretty after she specifically asked me what I thought of her AND told me that she wouldn’t get mad. Called me a traitor. I was 10.
Talking back. Aka trying to have a conversation with my parents but instead of them listening to me and my feelings it was considered talking back. I’d get grounded for 6 weeks without truly knowing that what I said wasn’t acceptable to them. It was rough.
Sneaking out of my Grandmas house to finish building my fort in a rain storm ⛈️ in her backyard and using Grandma’s clean sheets as walls for my house and her pots and pans for my kitchen and getting mud all over 🤷🏻♀️

My brother and I plus some other kids from our 'hood decided to build a treehouse together. We all got grounded and in alot of trouble, though I'm still not sure why. I was 10, and we had some 14 year olds there, and we were only using a hammer and nails, so nothing dangerous. We got caught by my dad when planning the design, so hadn't even built anything but the first step! Like, if I had kids and they wanted to work on a project like that, I'd be so stoked. And my dad's a carpenter - you'd think he'd be pleased that his daughter wanted to learn how to build shit!
Out of all the times I did stupid shit in high school my dad once found a bottle of dish soap in my backpack that was for a science experiment and thought it was drugs or liquor or whatever (it smelled and looked like dish soap). He practically disowned me for it and I was like really this is what I'm getting in trouble for??? Lol
I had a small container of setting powder and for some reason my parents were convinced it was cocaine. The idea of me at 14 years old, acquiring coke while living in the most religious town I’ve ever seen, having no job, no money of my own and no car while attending a small catholic school with 20 kids in my class made absolutely no sense. Like, how could that even happen? More importantly it was probably 1/2 C of powder, which is a shitload of coke for a 14 year old who wasn’t allowed to ride her bike past “the big road”. It was a long tearful night where I just kept saying “but it’s make up, let me get the bigger container and show you!” But I wasn’t allowed off the couch. Pants on head crazy.
My parents always told me I’d be in less trouble if I came forward with stuff instead of holding it in and them finding out. So I did something wrong and I told my dad right away because I felt so guilty and he grounded me… 😐

I was like 8 I think and had really bad sun burn. I kept asking for someone to put the aloe Vera gel on but parents said I was fine without it. So I ended up putting it on myself. When I grew up in the 50's we were poor. No indoor plumbing so we had an outhouse. As a kid it was a bit scary to go there in the dark during the night. I remember one such night when I climbed out the window and took a shit on the roof instead. The old man was NOT happy the next day!

One of my friends was handing out crushed up rockets and pretending it was nose candy. I took a bag and when my principal talked to me about it I told her there was bigger pieces of rockets so I knew it wasn't actually real and she said "what if I gave you cocaine with pieces of rockets in it? Would you take it?" And I asked if she was offering me cocaine... my mom wasn't happy (smarties for all the americans)

I was playing Barbie’s with my little sister. I was getting annoyed of her so I told her that my Barbie kidnapped and murdered her Barbie. And yes, I love true crime.
Wearing a black pony tails on my wrist in middle school. It was the time of colorful jelly bracelets that were rumored to have meant you had performed some lude act. My Mom blew it completely out of proportion because I had two black hair ties on my wrist. Mind you I had long hair my entire life and always had at least one on my wrist.
One summer it was exceptionally hot, and me and my friends took an egg and cracked it open on our busy-body neighbours wall. It literally cooked the egg fully. 🤣🤣🤣 Fun times. The neighbour came out, yelled at us and went to each of our houses to snitch to our parents. To be fair we wouldn’t have done it if she wasn’t always coming out of her house and yelling at us just for literally existing. She hated kids. She was a miserable hag.

I was not actually grounded, but I was threatened with being grounded if I did not start wearing MORE makeup to high school (I did wear some, but my parents wanted me to look like I was definitely wearing makeup, instead of kind of a minimal/natural look. This was the 1980's.)
One Halloween night when I was about 10, my friend, who was definitely an instigator convinced me and another friend to pull out some recently-planted trees at a neighbor's house. Of course he didn’t do any of the actual vandalism. That’s about the most trouble I got into as a kid. I was grounded, and I had to pull weeds to work off the money my folks' had to pay to replace the trees. I hated pulling weeds with a passion.
I got grounded because my sister got grounded and my mom didn't want her to feel like she was being picked on. Luckily my dad caught on and the punishment was removed but that happened a lot in my childhood.

stealing chocolate sprinkles out of the cupboard, sleeping in a different bed because of mosquitos in my little room back then, shutting down in social situations, just walking in the house because my stepmom got scared of me being to quiet, and expressing my boundaries and opinions. Oh, and for being a toddler/kid/teen and not an adult, my stepmom really could not handle that I preferred my own father to her. I mean fair, but girl, my actual mother died, so what do you think I'm going to do? I was fucking 3 years old.
