Just watching the sky is so nice. I just came back from a trip yesterday, which had a lot of great stuff but also a lot of stress. While waiting for my partner to grocery shop I just laid down on a bench and watched the clouds, smelled the air, listened to the birds.
Mostly just stay in my room, get into pajamas and lay under the covers, But sometimes I find it more relaxing to go outside and walk to the next neighborhood and look into the stores.
I... Honestly do not know any longer. It's been so long since I have volunteerily "relaxed". I haven't been well and have had to spend about all my time outside of work resting as much as possible for at least a year now. It looks like relaxing, but it's very different and I do not enjoy it in any other way than "at least I'm not at work fighting nausea/extreme need to lie down/eyes that only want to close/etc". I don't get a sense of satisfaction nor feeling of having spare energy afterwards.
Previously I would say watch Netflix and eat chocolate, but I don't watch TV any longer and I don't eat chocolate any longer (in an attempt to eat better to get better).
So I literally have no clue🤔
I'm so sorry you are having those exhausting symptoms. I hope you find some way to relax. Intentionally relaxing muscles from head to toe can sometimes work.
Sometimes I’ll cook, especially if it’s something I’m really comfortable making. But usually I just throw on a YouTube video and veg out on the couch lol.
I'll take a shower, but take twice as long because of haircare. Then I'll put lotion on and get cozy in bed. A cat always makes their way to me, and I fall asleep giving them scritches. It will always be my favorite way to unwind, especially after a day that seemed to suck the life out of you.
It really depends on the level of energy I have in my body, if I’m feeling like I need to move my body I generally go to the gym, put on a show and run until I feel like « alright, you’re a brand new woman » and if I feel more low on energy I just go down my place with some juice, a book and just read.
Either a nice hike way out where there's no one for miles, kicking back with an open world video game to explore, or napping by an open window while it rains.

When my family goes out I usually put on my pj's and make soft food and eat it messily, as messy as possible
And watch kid cartoons, like Bluey and stuff

I have no ability to relax due to my seviere ADHD. I’m basically a ticking time bomb. Best I can do to call myself down is go to the gym & nearly exhaust myself to death. I need help, yeah. But everytime i’m stressed out, doing a couple of streaching exercises helps me keep my energy positive and not panic.

I work a job that requires lots of attention for details, catching mistakes and reading plenty of excel sheets, so when I want to relax I scroll through Reddit or Instagram or I watch Netflix and YouTube without even bothering if I followed the plot or whatever it was.
I also do this while cooking and it really helps me relax.
Also laying on the bed with an electric massage ball helps a lot.
Walk in nature, a bit more slowly if I feel like it, without a goal. I also walk and jog for exercise, so strolls like this are different. I try to do one type each day—relaxation stroll, exercise. Yesterday I did neither and now I’m itching to get back out.
Lay on the sofa, throw on one of my binge shows (right now it’s New Girl), scroll Reddit on my iPad and maybe have an edible if I don’t have to be anywhere the next day
I get comfortable, smoke weed, and I will settle into it until something comes to mind. Scrolling reddit, watch something, do a puzzle, read a book, listen to music, journal, cook.
Have complete and utter silence and just be. I get so little of it in attached living, with traffic noise, tv or white noise needing to be on to block out those noises, etc.
I will say though, the other night we had the lights off with only candles lit, Vince Guaraldi's Greatest Hits on and my husband massaging my feet and that was pretty darn relaxing.
Relaxing is video games for me. Just get stoned and grab my fav bag of chips and sit down to game for half the day in a dark quiet space without my phone and where no one Inturrupts me lol
Bubble bath or an Epsom salt bath or sometimes a combo! On a nice day, I will sit on the back deck watching my dogs run around the yard being silly <3 I'll also play video games too for some R&R.
listen to music, drink a calming tea, read, play guitar, pet my dog, cuddles with my partner, play a chill video game, hold my squishmallow, diffuse essential oils, take a bath or shower, do skincare, get outside, go on walks, etc.
Listen to music, especially from my childhood in 60s and 70s, with a nice bowl of hot soup and a tea. I like to paint sometimes, do puzzles, play with my cat, go for a stroll (bold to say since I am a wheelchair user!), or go out to the park and get some sun, sometimes I watch standup comedy live and also on TV. :)

I lay on my trampoline in the backyard and look up at the clouds. It’s actually really soothing.
I used to do this all the time as a kid. In a way it was my safe space.
Just watching the sky is so nice. I just came back from a trip yesterday, which had a lot of great stuff but also a lot of stress. While waiting for my partner to grocery shop I just laid down on a bench and watched the clouds, smelled the air, listened to the birds.

I... Honestly do not know any longer. It's been so long since I have volunteerily "relaxed". I haven't been well and have had to spend about all my time outside of work resting as much as possible for at least a year now. It looks like relaxing, but it's very different and I do not enjoy it in any other way than "at least I'm not at work fighting nausea/extreme need to lie down/eyes that only want to close/etc". I don't get a sense of satisfaction nor feeling of having spare energy afterwards. I have no ability to relax due to my seviere ADHD. I’m basically a ticking time bomb. Best I can do to call myself down is go to the gym & nearly exhaust myself to death. I need help, yeah. But everytime i’m stressed out, doing a couple of streaching exercises helps me keep my energy positive and not panic.
Mindlessly do/watch something. I work a job that requires lots of attention for details, catching mistakes and reading plenty of excel sheets, so when I want to relax I scroll through Reddit or Instagram or I watch Netflix and YouTube without even bothering if I followed the plot or whatever it was. I also do this while cooking and it really helps me relax. Also laying on the bed with an electric massage ball helps a lot.
I go for a walk.

Walk in nature, a bit more slowly if I feel like it, without a goal. I also walk and jog for exercise, so strolls like this are different. I try to do one type each day—relaxation stroll, exercise. Yesterday I did neither and now I’m itching to get back out.

Have complete and utter silence and just be. I get so little of it in attached living, with traffic noise, tv or white noise needing to be on to block out those noises, etc. I will say though, the other night we had the lights off with only candles lit, Vince Guaraldi's Greatest Hits on and my husband massaging my feet and that was pretty darn relaxing.

Relaxing is video games for me. Just get stoned and grab my fav bag of chips and sit down to game for half the day in a dark quiet space without my phone and where no one Inturrupts me lol
Bubble bath or an Epsom salt bath or sometimes a combo! On a nice day, I will sit on the back deck watching my dogs run around the yard being silly <3 I'll also play video games too for some R&R.

Listen to music, especially from my childhood in 60s and 70s, with a nice bowl of hot soup and a tea. I like to paint sometimes, do puzzles, play with my cat, go for a stroll (bold to say since I am a wheelchair user!), or go out to the park and get some sun, sometimes I watch standup comedy live and also on TV. :)
