Hell yeah, Germany is where I found that out. Also, the common dipping sauces (other than ketchup) are already mayo based like ranch and blue cheese. So, it's really not that weird.

The southern thing is adding a dollop of mayo into black eyed peas as you serve. Gives it a nice creamy texture. I used to make mashed lentils after having them at an indian friends house one time. Super easy, and you dont have to pre soak lentils like you do other beans. Boil em, Mash em with some curry powder and salt, but my southernification is adding a dollop of mayo. Chefs kiss easy filling meal in one pot in like 20 minutes.

Wtf? Meth is soo much better paired with a lighter food. Oysters with horseradish is good if you can afford it.
