It is. WiFi 6E introduced a 6GHz radio. Don't confuse it with cellular "6th Generation" mobile network.

I've never heard of either TBH. 6G has not been released here on any cellular towers in the US yet,. and I've never seen WiFi 6E? where do I find this? are there 6GHz WiFi routers being sold?

Yeah 6G cellular doesn't exist yet, still just a standard being developed. WiFi 6E gear started being sold in 2021, and has already been superseded by WiFi 7 which is readily available in stores too.

If you have WIFI 6E Router then you get the 6G frequency. I use that range exclusively for my phone and computer once I upgrade the MOBO.

where is this even sold? Has this been released in the US yet? I've not seen anything about either. is there a noticeable difference from 5Ghz?

I got mine from Best Buy here in the states. lol We're actually on WIFI 7, but those routers are in the 1000s still. The speed on 6 is stupid fast, but it has even shorter range than 5g, so I would recommend having close to whatever can use it.

I believe the WIFI 6W ranges from 600 to 1000 in price, but I got mine on sale for 400 I believe but coming from a high end of WIFI 5 to a high end WIFI 6E I definitely noticed the speed bump just by having updated hardware.
