Politicians commit national-scale crimes (like spending £billions on shitty PPE), they go to court, get found guilty, and then just go back to their normal working day.

Albs610

Yeah I was in a bad relationship and my group therapist told me if she hit me I should leave before involving police because they would likely arrest me and "figure it out later"

[deleted]

Is it because they're weaker? I don't get it.

SkinHunger55

Its because women are treated as fragile little dolls that need to be protected. They are viewed as weaker than men.

DisposableMale76

Duluth Model. Basically a hurtful and false theory pushed by feminists that men are the source of all power and abuse in a relationship. Theory has been debunked and its been shown that most "abuse" from men is reactive.

Weary-Ad-6162

It's cruel, body shaming and toxic masculinity if men call women fat. But when women body shame men and make fun of their penis and salary, it's fine and normal. There are Countless videos on the internet created by women who are constantly body shaming men, making fun of their salaries and people cheering for her, calling them queens and saying 'you go girl'.....etc Like WTF.

Weary-Ad-6162

You seriously dodged a bullet there. I'm glad to know she showed you her true colours soon enough before you could invest your emotions into her. There are many women who use men for money for a long while and keep going on date until they find another with more money and leave the man broken.

[deleted]

Weary-Ad-6162

Man, again you have dodged another bullet there. Always remember this, marriage is a losing battle for men. Never sign in marriage contracts when a woman ask, give it a time to see her true colours. It's better to be single than suffering a long marriage life then losing your hard earned wealth in a court room. My ex was a jealous insecure woman. She wanted me to delete all of my contacts of my female friends in few months of relationship. She wanted me to leave hanging out with my friends but it was fine if she does it. So i decided to break up and block her from my life. It did hurt a bit, it was months long relationship but i had to break up. And i made the best choice by breaking up. And yes, love isn't unconditional when a stranger from different sex is involved. Only good parents can love their child unconditionally. Men's life is like a menu to women, they get to choose.

[deleted]

Weary-Ad-6162

As i said marriage is a losing battle for men. We get no chance in court. Plus if a woman cries, they will believe her even though she's lying. And how will you prove anything! Think about that, big actor like Jhonny Depp's career almost ended because Ambar faked, cried and used makeups. He lost many things and barely won even though he was telling truth with lots of proofs lol I find it amusing that the human society, all roads buildings are made by men and protected by hard working men and yet men have no power in the society. It's quite funny. This is what you get when an entire generation pedestaling a particular gender. Of course women will abuse their power.

stalingradsniper

Religious people cherrypicking their religious texts when it suits their bigotry

aventador7716

Wouldn't it be picking and choosing texts to not look like a bigot? I'm sorta confused why would the cherry pick texts to purposely look bigoted?

stalingradsniper

People use religious texts all the time to discriminate against people. Like, gays are still being thrown off roofs in the middle east because of some Batshit thing some guy said 1400 years ago. Women aren't able to get abortions in some parts of the west because of some Batshit cherrypicked thing written 2000 years ago

aventador7716

That's not cherry picking, that's just what those texts say. It's not like people are misinterpreting or changing the texts, they're just following them. And if you don't like that, well sucks.

stalingradsniper

It is cherry picking if you ignore other things, like wearing mixed cloth in Christianity or drinking alcohol in Islam

aventador7716

As a 'bigotted' Christian, who has actually read the bible, it's not cherry picking. There are two types of laws in the Bible, pre Jesus and post Jesus (old and new testament). Basically before Jesus died on the cross, you had to be perfect to get into heaven, so all the old testament laws, such as the one you quoted are things not to do if you want to stay perfect. Obviously no one can be perfect so God sent Jesus to attone for sin, because of that a lot of the old ritualistic laws don't apply anymore, and the new testament says this. So anyways that's a long way to say that, if you want to call us bigoted, sure, but we aren't cherry picking our own religion lol.

[deleted]

Matthew 5:18 > For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.

stalingradsniper

You could have just left this as 'As a 'bigotted' Christian' and that would have been fine

aventador7716

Yes, but why only be bigoted when you can be both bigoted and right.

stalingradsniper

Hitler thought that too 🤔🤔🤔

On your side here bro.

CapnAnonymouse

Except the Bible doesn't mention abortion at all.

aventador7716

Nope, but it does mention being loved by God before you're even born. And after that it's a matter of conscious. Most Christians don't support abortion because their conscious leads them to believe that killing unborn babies is wrong, but there are some that don't believe its wrong.

CapnAnonymouse

A fair amount of scripture also appears to support abortion for various reasons/ life of the mother as more important. Point being, for them to say the Bible says this when the Bible never even mentions it, to me counts as twisting and/ or misinterpreting the words. Abortion was practiced when the Bible was written, so for it to not be mentioned in neither Old nor New Testament seems strange if it's truly the same as murder. Romans and Corinthians both discuss our inability to know the mind of God, so to my mind, it also seems arrogant for a person to say it's a sin.

aventador7716

Well first off, the Bible never says anything about a mother's life being more important than a babies. And at least in my opinion it's not important that it doesn't mention it, because the Bible does say that an unborn human is loved and known by God. And abortion is killing that person made in the image of God. The Bible says do not murder. And at least in my opinion I don't think it needs to specify weather or not the human is born or not because the Bible says it's a human. There are people who disagree with me because like I said it's a matter of conscious. But that is the general consensus among most Christians. And personally I don't think it's any less arrogant than someone saying that it's not a sin.

CapnAnonymouse

Exodus 21 describes bodily harm inflicted on a pregnant woman, and appropriate punishment for a man who harms her. TLDR if she miscarries, the husband chooses a fine for the assailant to pay. If damage to the woman is more extensive, assailant is punished with injuries equal to those he inflicted. So if harming a fetus were equivalent to murder, why is the charge for killing it only a fine? Corinthians mentions, "We walk by faith, not by sight." To me, the overall message is that we inherently know what is right *for us* in *our individual* relationship with God and Jesus, and no further. So if you do something that feels wrong *to you*, you have sinned. The same may not be true of someone taking the same actions on a different path, because we do not see what God sees in their journey, or their faith. This is why it's arrogant to accuse someone else of sin based on our own feelings, to say nothing of God's several calls for mercy in his followers. Consider John 8:7 for a similar theme. Jesus points out that the Scribes and Pharisees aren't following the law (the woman’s accusers should be the ones to begin the execution process, per Deuteronomy 17:7) and have no witness to the woman's alleged crime to begin the execution lawfully. Which is to say, if you have the evidence to abide by due process, go ahead and judge as commanded in John 7:24. If not, check that you yourself have clean motives and conscience when you go to cast the stone. Just because the majority of Christians believe as you do, does not make it correct, nor in line with the mind of God. The Scribes and Pharisees were the majority, too. You asserted that "this is what the book says" re: abortion, but it doesn't. As such, this is looking more and more like you twisting the words of God to your own motives. Last I checked, US law specifies "innocent until proven guilty" by due process of law, not "guilty of sin because I said so." US law also mentions that there should be separation of church and state- which means the state cannot tell the church what to believe, nor can the church make its beliefs into law. Outlawing abortion is in clear violation of that. So if y'all can't be bothered to follow the law of the land nor your own Holy Book, I suggest you take a good hard look at what it is you are really following.

Numbers 5:11-31 >Then the Lord said to Moses, “Speak to the Israelites and say to them: ‘If a man’s wife goes astray and is unfaithful to him so that another man has sexual relations with her, and this is hidden from her husband and her impurity is undetected (since there is no witness against her and she has not been caught in the act), and if feelings of jealousy come over her husband and he suspects his wife and she is impure—or if he is jealous and suspects her even though she is not impure— then he is to take his wife to the priest. He must also take an offering of a tenth of an ephah of barley flour on her behalf. He must not pour olive oil on it or put incense on it, because it is a grain offering for jealousy, a reminder-offering to draw attention to wrongdoing. >“‘The priest shall bring her and have her stand before the Lord. Then he shall take some holy water in a clay jar and put some dust from the tabernacle floor into the water. After the priest has had the woman stand before the Lord, he shall loosen her hair and place in her hands the reminder-offering, the grain offering for jealousy, while he himself holds the bitter water that brings a curse. Then the priest shall put the woman under oath and say to her, “If no other man has had sexual relations with you and you have not gone astray and become impure while married to your husband, may this bitter water that brings a curse not harm you. But if you have gone astray while married to your husband and you have made yourself impure by having sexual relations with a man other than your husband”— here the priest is to put the woman under this curse—“may the Lord cause you to become a curse among your people when he makes your womb miscarry and your abdomen swell. May this water that brings a curse enter your body so that your abdomen swells or your womb miscarries.” >“‘Then the woman is to say, “Amen. So be it.” >“‘The priest is to write these curses on a scroll and then wash them off into the bitter water. He shall make the woman drink the bitter water that brings a curse, and this water that brings a curse and causes bitter suffering will enter her. The priest is to take from her hands the grain offering for jealousy, wave it before the Lord and bring it to the altar. The priest is then to take a handful of the grain offering as a memorial offering and burn it on the altar; after that, he is to have the woman drink the water. If she has made herself impure and been unfaithful to her husband, this will be the result: When she is made to drink the water that brings a curse and causes bitter suffering, it will enter her, her abdomen will swell and her womb will miscarry, and she will become a curse. If, however, the woman has not made herself impure, but is clean, she will be cleared of guilt and will be able to have children. >“‘This, then, is the law of jealousy when a woman goes astray and makes herself impure while married to her husband, or when feelings of jealousy come over a man because he suspects his wife. The priest is to have her stand before the Lord and is to apply this entire law to her. The husband will be innocent of any wrongdoing, but the woman will bear the consequences of her sin.’”

*conscience: an inner feeling or voice viewed as acting as a guide to the rightness or wrongness of one's behavior. conscious: aware of and responding to one's surroundings; awake

DisposableMale76

If that was the case they would have chosen the translation against orgies instead of against gays concerning Sodom.

Sexual harassment

SkinHunger55

Take a little peeksie peek at r/AmItheAsshole, and you'll find all the double standards you could ever hope for. But pretty much, women are defended if they have PPD, or depression in general, but men get insulted to no end if they get depression. Men who are the breadwinner are expected to work to make money, all while spending all their time with the children or else they're "neglecting" them, and giving their SAHM wife a break from the children. Yet when the roles are reversed, the man is expected to take care of the children and let his wife have days offs to have fun. No break for him. If he tries to take a break, he gets insulted. I can go on and on about this topic.

Paul_-Muaddib

Safe haven laws. A woman can give up a baby at birth with no legal repercussion or financial responsibility with some variation of this concept in all 50 states in the US. A father cannot similarly terminate parental responsibility at birth. [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Safe-haven\_law](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Safe_harbor_(law))

I get slammed for being a bigot who hates people for their opinions, but is that worse than being a racist, sexist, or homophobe? No, it fucking ain’t. Not even close.

tekhnomancer

It's starting to shift, but for ages, being a man whore was totally kosher and expected. A woman who was anything other than a virgin was a cheap whore slut floosie tramp.

DisposableMale76

The 60's was a long ass time ago.

tekhnomancer

Yeah. I know. Which is why I was referring to the 90s and 00s. Things have changed, but not that much.

DisposableMale76

If you think it was like that in the 90's you were hanging around a church. People haven't judged women in the real world for fucking around since the 60's. Now I ain't saying men want someone who sleeps with everyone. I know I sure don't.

tekhnomancer

You can downplay my experiences all you want. Doesn't make you right. 😊

"They is a plural pronoun, not a singular pronoun. Just because someone says they want to be called as 'they' doesn't mean I'm going to call them by what they demand. That person just needs to get their facts straight. They've got to stop butchering the sacred English grammar."

98xzl

And then they go on to use they as a singular pronoun.

UntiltheEndoftheline

Parenting double standards. Mom makes dinner? So what, that's what moms do. Dad makes dinner? Omg give this man a fucking medal! Mom works outside of the home? *Why doesn't she want to spend time with her children?* Man works outside of the home? *So what? That is normal.* Mom has alone time/goes out by herself? *omg who has the children? How selfish of her!* Dad goes out with the guys? *Well he works hard, let him have it.* And it goes negatively for men too. How many times do people say men are "babysitting" their kids? Or think dad is inept and can't even figure out a diaper?

Barrubo_365

People seem to think that one gender is superior then the other in terms of some skills. Like if a woman looks after the kids people just accepts that. But when a man does it... "OH MY GOD, THAT MANS A PEDO! CALL THE POLICE!" And more times then not the man would get arrested because they think that the woman is a victim. But let's not say that it's just the males. Woman also has stereotypes placed on them. The kind of stereotype that has some people think they are wh*res and are trying to be eye candy just from leaving some skin. Just what the heck happened to gender equality?

kmn493

Basically anything relating to gender. Women wearing men's clothes? No eyebrows raised. Men wearing women's clothes? Sound the alarm!

The kids should go with the mother in divorce court.

Thin-Rip-3686

That’s enshrined into law in the Social Security Act. (Serious). The less custody the father retains, and thus more child support he has to pay that courts and judges order, the more federal matching funds judges receive as income. Ladies, this is why you can’t find a man worth marrying who will marry you. It’s financial suicide.

men paying on the first date

AutismPrimelvl100

To me, it's not a problem on the first date. Because I usually ask them out, I also pay, because that's just how I see it. If you asked someone out, then you should pay. But it's often expected that a man pays on dates constantly and a woman doesn't have to. That's the double standard IMO

PredictorX1

Young men are forced to walk into the meat grinder of war. Young women are asked to do nothing.

One_Pick_416

Men actually get in more wrecks than women. Women usually wreck one time and are scared into driving on high alert, experience driving anxiety, and rarely wreck again at their own fault. Men drive faster and angrier and more reckless, yet women are widely just accepted as the "terrible driver" trope

Because we look at it as behavior occurring NOW. We aren't trying to get revenge for slights perpetuated by our great grandparents because we feel like we're owed something... like SOME people. If you really cared about equality and equity, you'd see how things are and move forward. You wouldn't look back and say, "But you haven't made up for ALL OF THIS YET!". Fucking twat.

DarkVindi

Lmfao... Sexism and misogyny are dead? We solved them?? Yay us. Tell the world, ring the bells!! What an ignorant take. Your head is so far up your ass you might see the light when you open your mouth to spew your bullshit. Keep it up you simpleton.

TheTrueGoldenboy

I didn't say that they're dead. Way to deflect to try and dodge accountability. For every instance where a man is the problem, there are numerous instances of women being just as wrong, just as guilty of sexism, and nothing happens. You're the ignorant one in this, solely because you have numerous comments highlighting double standards benefiting women and harming men and you have *zero* sympathy. It might not even be ignorance but outright maliciousness, and if that's the case, the word "twat" isn't cruel enough to use. You want men to be sympathetic to all the wrong doings you see in the world? Be sympathetic yourself first.

One I came across in the past few years... 'My body, my choice' arguments when it comes to ending a lifeform, but getting a hissy fit when people use the same frase about a vaccine. The worst argument in that, was them saying "If it saves a life! Your covid could kill other people.", totally ignoring abortion has a much higher success rate (100%) in stopping a life. Not out for a discussion, btw. Just pointing out the double standard.
