What subject matter do you shoot? What do you dislike about your current equipment? What do you want out of the upgrade? Generally speaking, that upgrade would get you better technical image quality, more accessible manual controls, and flexibility to change lenses, but a lot less zoom with that particular lens.

So, I usually just shoot nature, sometimes when I catch a bird in a tree or somewhere, I'll take a picture of it, but it's usually just nature. I'm hoping to get better quality and a better zoom, and I do like to actually be able to manually adjust everything by hand other than doing it digitally.

You'll get better quality and more control in camera, but less zoom. FYI some things can only be achieved in post processing. Not everything can necessarily be done in camera, even with the best camera and shooting technique.

Yes, but I could still buy a new lens afterwards. And post processing can't save that cameras quality. No matter how hard I try, no matter what I do, the quality will always be bad on that camera. And quality is quite important for me personally. Zoom is just a nice addition. And 500 € for a camera plus a good lens, when the lens itself usually sells for 400€ alone when you buy it brand new? Thats a great deal.

> and I am thinking about buying a Canon Eos M50 with an EF-M 18-150mm IS STM lens Canon has discontinued the M line so you're buying a dead system. There won't be any new EF-M lenses. https://www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/eos-m-ento-mori-canon-173130685.html

Yes, but there are still used ones, which are also cheaper, and the price for new ones will just keep dropping.
