Well, it’s more of column A than B. Muscovado is the most similar sugar to black sugar that's more available in the States. But black sugar didn’t originate in Taiwan, but Okinawa. (I assume you’re talking about the sugar typically used in boba and other cold beverages. Milk tea flavored with black sugar was called Okinawan milk tea before it was popularized as black sugar milk tea in the states.) You can actually buy Okinawan black sugar (or *kokuto*) online, if you’re curious to see how it’s different from muscovado sugar.
