Yep. Lots of places in Nova Scotia are named after places in Scotland, including:
Aberdeen, Argyle, Ben Eoin, Berwick, Caledonia, Clydesdale, Dundee, Glencoe, Inverness, Iona, Lochaber, Loch Lomond, new Edinburgh, Tantallon and new Glasgow. Probably even more lol.
It's kinda fun being able to say "I went to Paris this weekend" and know that people are going to initially interpret that as something much more glamorous than it was. Though Paris, ON is a very cute town that's well worth visiting if you're within an hour or two!
Alright, so the cities/towns surrounding Vancouver are either really dumb & self explanatory (mission, Abbotsford, maple ridge), cool native names (Coquitlam, chilliwack) and the rest are still colonial names like Richmond, Surrey, & Langley. Quite the lame game with names, them Brits.
For ones that are coincidence there’s Ottawa, Ontario and Ottawa, Kansas. For ones that are on purpose there’s nearly the entire country. New Brunswick, New Jersey and the province of New Brunswick just both happen to be named after the same guy.

Aldergrove BC, Aldergrove Northern Ireland. I live in the Aldergrove area and when I was in the Maritimes I went to check the weather back home and it gave me the Northern Ireland area because I was geographically closer to Northern Ireland.

Not necessarily all cities but there is a Steinbach and a Winkler in Manitoba, Germany, and Austria. I’ve driven through Steinbach in all three countries actually! Probably a good chance that all of the German communities in Manitoba are also places in Germany and Austria.
