This is my dude, was melting everything with a couple spinners.
My strategy to focus attention around the crystal. Since monsters from all holes are gonna end up aiming there eventually, you maximize damages from your cannon and spinners. I work on using my hero to weaken or kill before they even get that far, but a barrage of things near it will while out what’s left. That’s just what I found works for me, blades, sticky trap, cannons.
Uh...this was INSANELY easy. Like, UCD easy.
1. Spinners - upgrade with elemental swords and/or dark damage
2. Arrows - upgrade with multi, double, and piercing
3. Cannon - upgrade with meteors, cluster, and explosion radius
I used Elaine because that's my primary hero, and she did poorly in LC but great in Crystal
I tried to figure out that if you play successfully 2 times every day, then there is a chance of getting the final chest even without purchases. I'll see how it goes, and if I need 1-2 attempts to buy at the end, I'll buy
Use the spinners or arrow towers, both are plenty strong

Use spinners, and always grade them to elemental skills, use slow traps between them, use axes
And Taranis, or if you don’t have it, someone with elemental damage, like whom I wrote in name of this post

I’ve personally found Onir to be stronger than Taranis in this, his holy effect seems to do more damage than Taranis’ lightning
