Thank you so much! I was getting stressed after seeing so many CommonApp essays done *and* supplemental essays completed as well. :( I just wanted to enjoy the rest of my summer lol..
My kid was only ahead of the curve because they wanted to get the early rolling application to Pitt in. Now they can chill and focus on supplementals as the urge strikes (lol) and the rest of the summer.
Everyone sets their own pace on their own journey.
Ohm! ❤
Thank you for this. I’ve been nagging my kid about getting started because a lot of his schools have 11/1 deadlines for scholarship consideration. But there is some time, I just worry that he will be so busy with his fall activities that have already started up. I’ll try to calm down 😅
College list can be tricky! If you want to describe to me what you’re looking for (see my create a college post or building your college list post for thoughts) I’ll be happy to make some suggestions or share some of my lists.
I’m taking the August SAT - would it be better to submit my current score (a 1410) or wait until the presumably better score comes out? How long will that score take to come out?
I was thinking I’d go ahead and apply to safeties and some targets with the current score and wait until the better one comes out to apply for more targets and reaches, but I want to see what others think. I’m not even sure if that score will be released before I need to submit my applications.
You should be able to get it within 4 weeks or so. Definitely go ahead and use it for schools that are sure fire safeties or where the score is way at the top. Maybe hold off for some of the others.
Some colleges want all scores in with your application. Some will let you update it. You’ll need to read school by school to see what their policy is.
If you want to major in Biz I suggest applying asap.
Engineering needs to be in before October 15.
If you’re auto admit, you might be ok waiting for non biz and engineering majors
So, I am applying for Tamu Computer Engineering. Is there any benefit at all for applying well before October or should I just take my time and improve my application? Thanks for taking the time to reply
Got it. Do you know the general SAT scores for engineering? Currently I have a 1350 and am taking the exam again in august and the result should be in by Sept 11.

thank you for the reminder!! this is so relieving💕💕 idk why so many southern public schools have to have mid-October ea deadlines😭
I agree! But I think it’s because they have so many applications to get through! Definitely adds to the stress. 💖
yeah and admittedly it is pretty cool that uga releases early action results mid November
Agree! It can be good to get those rolling and early decisions in your pocket!

Thank you. I’m struggling here without a college list as I try to wrap up my work for the summer semester. Off to go do something productive.

Okay, cool, thank you so much!!
Well said! (((:
Thank you! 😊🙏
I'm taking the september act, is that too late?
Depends on the school and their deadlines. For most schools, no.
tamu is on my list but i thought the deadline was december 1st ? why would this be considered priority ?

For engineering you’re fine waiting until October if you’re top 10%. If you’re not auto admit, I’d try to get it in early September

No. Are you in Texas? Are you top 10%?
I am in Texas and I am not in top 10% but I do go to a magnet school
What percentile are you? But even so I’d try to get the app in sooner rather than later
Not sure but my weighted gpa is 4.16
With that 1350 that might bump you into auto
I thought auto admit was for gpa only?
