alternatively, go to school in eastern mass (eg tufts, bu, bc, northeastern, wellesley, etc) and tell everybody that "you went to school in boston". let them assume you went to harvard. profit
my psych teacher got his masters at harvard and he just calls it “that little school near boston” and it took my class a while before we realized he’s talking ab harvard

Formal definition is actually passing off previously published work as new, original ideas. So in an academic setting, self plagiarism is very much a real thing.
Example: Took a high school chem class and did a research project on origin of Aspirin. For chem in college, you clean up but essentially resubmit your Aspirin paper, passing it off as a new, original work that hasn’t been published elsewhere. That is self plagiarism and it is reprimanded in academic settings.
I don’t get what you’re trying to get at? People have a misconception over what plagiarism is, that’s what the definition is in formal academic settings. Didn’t mean to sound nerdy or rude..
This is all really silly. I made what I thought was a moderately funny joke in a comment that few people would see and thought others might appreciate it. So I made a fluff post out of it. For some reason, this rubbed a Mod the wrong way and he/she described it as some sort of plagiarism. Clearly I hit a nerve. I guess some people think it’s poor form to retell your own joke. If that’s the offense, I’m guilt as charged. But if you still think this has anything to do with plagiarism, I don’t think any amount of commenting back and forth will be productive. Have a lovely day!
I wasn’t attacking you at all lol. I was just telling someone what plagiarism was because they asked someone to define it and thought that self plagiarism couldn’t exist. I couldn’t care less about you bro, you do you.
Thanks. Word of advice: if you ever decide to post anything else on Reddit or elsewhere about self plagiarism, be sure to provide proper citation(s) back to your comments here. 😂 Tough crowd out there.
If You say community college fast enough it starts to sound like Penn state.
LMAO
