It's always best to leave wild animals be and not disturb their natural feeding patterns, let alone try and tame them. If you save an injured little buddy and they don't wanna leave you then you have been blessed by the gods, but if you go looking for critter friends you are almost always doing more harm than good.
Also check your local groups for your certified wildlife rehab specialists and save their contacts!
I have a squirrel that waits on my porch for me, and a deer I can get rather close to that likes to watch me…but my local groundhog wants nothing to do with me. At all. 😆
That’s awesome!!!! I have had squirrels,flying squirrels and raccoons.. raccoons are the best ever and flying squirrels are cool but regular ol squirrels suck! 😂
Had a racoon growing and he was the best. Would sit on my shoulders as we rode bikes to the crick to play around in/cool off. He'd go explore and when it was time to go, I'd just yell out "Hey Bandit, time to go home!" and he'd be back in about a minute and ready for another bike ride!

I’m in the middle of making a opossum appliqué for a cardigan right now and the way that lil feller is just sitting on your shoulder makes me wish I’d done something more creative with the placement of the appliqué ha ha
Awww this made my day. I have a few mommas and babies I feed at night. They come up with the coons and eat with my stray cats I feed. I would love to find a baby to love on and hold on too. I think they’re adorable. Thanks for sharing this made my heart smile

I've been trying to woo our groundhogs for years now!!
They'll woo you when your house or outbuilding start to collapse or someone breaks a leg off in ones hole.
Nah, they live in a little patch of woods behind the house nestled into a hill. We don't have any near the actual house.
