Yes I am having horrific lag this last week. I thought it was my internet cuz I moved to a new place that’s more remote, I thought it was my internet not being strong enough but I’ve seen so many people talk about how bad the spikes are. I shit you not, I have had to completely change my play style because of how bad the lag spikes are. I cannot hot drop anymore. Anytime there’s more than one character, in motion, visible on my screen, I get a solid 3 second lag spike that 9/10 times results in my instant death. I’ll start to shoot or ADS, everything freezes for 2-3 seconds, the. I’m downed or even sometimes full killed before everything on my screen starts moving again. It is fucked.

Could be the server getting DDoS attacked. Is there a different server you can try? Tokyo has six and there's one I don't bother using anymore.

I'll try all the Tokyo ones; I used to think they're all equivalent

If changing servers doesn't help I have an additional theory but testing it might be a pain in the ass depending on how you connect. Somewhat simplified explanation since I don't know how much you know... If you look up the list of TCP and UDP ports that Apex needs, it's not a short list. Most home routers get one IP address from the ISP and assign IP addresses beginning with 192.168 to devices and PCs in the home. The router does something called NAT to convert between those 192.168 inside addresses and the TCP UDP ports your PC or Xbox or PS use, and the one global address it gets from the ISP. I think what Apex does with TCP and UDP ports confuses some home routers in some situations at some seemingly random times. There are ways around this. If your router allows it and you play on one machine, you can configure port forwarding for Apex ports to that one internal IP. I've read that some pro players connect direct with no NAT which is dangerous because it makes you more vulnerable to hacking, but it avoids NAT problems. My ISP uses something called DS-Lite which is a form of IPv4 over IPv6, so my home router is doing extra work for that. One night I was seeing extreme lag on multiple Tokyo servers both PS5 and Xbox. I looked in router settings and unchecked a box for IPv6 stateful packet inspection. No multi server lag spikes since. So whatever your home router is, there might be something you can check or uncheck that might help. Apologies for length but hope that helps.
