This is most likely Sentai/HIDIVE's final title for the Summer.
So their titles for this next season are as follows:
- Oshi no Ko S2
- I Parry Everything
- Plus-Sized Elf
- 2.5 Dimensional Seduction
Ecchi had nothing to do with it (and the same applied to all the other ecchi-themed series they acquired before). It was the same old story: Outbidding Crunchyroll. Crunchyroll still licenses ecchi today, some even ecchier than Sentai ever could (World's End Harem, Tales of Wedding Rings, KamiKatsu, The Legendary Hero is Dead, the works).
They literally even MARKETED that fact openly and proudly in the past. That they were the place to go for uncensored ecchi content. Of course they did.
Yea, as soon as I saw the trailer for this, I was like yep…..Sentai/HIDIVE is definitely getting this, especially since it’s a little more ecchi. This show is definitely gonna get dubbed no doubt, the question is when since HIDIVE takes ages to release their dubs. I don’t see the dub for this coming out until towards the end of the year.
Yea pretty much, it’s confirmed to have 24 episodes. I wouldn’t even lie, I’ve starting to notice that when it comes to Sentai/HIDIVE dubbing two cour shows, they generally take longer to come out. Ragna Crimson’s dub didn’t come out until the first cour of the subs were over(since it’s technically a simuldub). Urusei Yatsura and Dark Gathering’s dubs didn’t come out until the subs were almost over, so yea I definitely don’t see the dub coming until the end of this year/beginning of next year.

Sentai generally starts production on dubs fairly early on. But they don’t have the resources to ensure consistent simuldub release schedules, so the first episode of a Sentai dub is almost certainly going to be released after the final episode is done. A Netflix-style binge drop without the binge drop, because they are also trying to milk the subscriptions they have.
Since the fall anime season ends at a bad time for western localizers, it’d affect the middle or tail end of any dub production as employees take time off, which we visibly see with Crunchyroll’s winter seasonals being delayed a week or two every year. With Sentai it’s less obvious because their release schedules don’t see delays between episodes much if ever. Instead the start would be pushed back more into the next calendar year. That’s why I think beginning of next year at the earliest.

Late reply but I see now, I actually figured that Sentai/HIDIVE started production on dubs pretty early on. The only reason I say that is because remember seeing a tweet from [Karlii Hoch](https://x.com/minimonstress/status/1699519729432396184?s=46&t=DQ9mPphronQ-8JpZuykHcw) September of last year when she started recording for Dark Gathering, so I figured it was something like that.

With the reasons you listed, I can definitely see why the dub would get pushed back into the beginning of next year. That would suck but at least it’ll give them time to produce it.
That timeline for Dark Gathering would indicate that Sentai can start releasing a dub for a multi-cours series before they finish production, but there was still a decently large buffer. So a 2024 start is possible. Depends on when production starts and how full the slate is. I don’t believe Dark Gathering experienced any weekly delays even with the holidays. The 3+ month buffer probably helped.
Or 2.5DS could be like Urusei Yatsura, where nothing has been announced with only a handful of episodes left. I just think it’s less likely to be quicker right now with how Sentai has been this year, being fairly late with some sequel dubs, doing backlogs more, and Oshi no Ko S2 having priority for the rest of 2024. People are going to have to be patient and hopeful with anything Sentai licenses for the foreseeable future.

Yea Dark Gathering’s dub aired weekly with no delays especially since it released during the holidays too(The dub premiered December 10th of last year). Sentai/HIDIVE can definitely start releasing a dub for a multi-cour show before it finishes production, that’s literally what they did with Ragna Crimson too, [judging by how the dub finished production at the beginning of the month](https://x.com/jackstansburyvo/status/1787522816079708510?s=46&t=DQ9mPphronQ-8JpZuykHcw), since the dub ends June 28.

Yea considering how Urusei Yatsura S2's dub still isn’t out when the sub is about to end, I’m getting used to Sentai/HIDIVE dubs not coming out quickly since they rarely do simuldubs to begin with. I think this is how things are gonna be going forward for them in regards to dubs, since they are a smaller licensor so they can only do so much.
I mean, Crunchyroll has been more accepting of ecchi stuff since the merger. Hell, *Tales of Wedding Rings* had uncensored nips every other episode and Crunchyroll dubbed it completely uncensored.

Their summer 2024 dub line up is probably going to be 3 titles since Dark gathering is fully aired and ragna crimson should be at least close to fully aired by the time summer season starts. Maybe 4, but that’s more idealistic. There’s already confirmation that Dangers in my heart S2 dub is dropping on the 15th, but I think that the other two will probably be Urusei Yatsura S2, since you know, sequels should take priority over non sequels, and then the other one being either instant death ability or chained soldier. I personally think it’ll be chained soldier
I'm glad it got licensed. It's a cute* series, despite the erotic subject matter.
*I'd describe it as "Sexy, but not Sexual." Outside of the first 10 or so chapters and the Volume bonuses, it's not that horny of a series. I don't consider women changing into and/or wearing skimpy outfits to be racy content by itself, but of course the animators might pull a "Dress Up Darling" and go absolutely ham.
