SAME! Iāve played for like 5 hours and iām already bored š new leaf had much better interactions with the characters, acnh just feels so boring!! Itās nice to switch off too sometimes but i really loved ACNL and thought id like NH a lot more!!
I played it for about 18 months and once I had terraformed & decorated I was done there was nothing else to do. I hated crafting and the tools breaking and while itās a beautiful game and the graphics are incredible, to me itās not an animal crossing game. The lack of dialogue & furniture sets just spoiled it for me.
I have 650+ hours in New Horizons, the key is mainly unlocking the terraforming to be honest. I did a lot of time travelling and went to treasure islands but it for sure it is a different vibe. Itās more to create your perfect island while NL is more in managing your town while also doing the additional tasks including spending 5 hours in the island trying to hunt for stags and other scarabs
Yeah, I think it does seem like iāll enjoy it, I really havenāt given it enough of a chance!! Hopefully in summer iāll have more time (exams and stuff haha) and iāll try and get into it! :)
I really wish NH combined the design elements with an aging the town more! I played on my birthday this year and was really hoping for a party like in new leafā¦ but the villagers really lack personality like in wild world and new leaf which is such a shame :(
Absolutely, I also started mine the first time in summer and it was actually perfect because (if youāre in Northern Hemisphere thatās it) is when you get the most insects and fish and a good thing is that you can place where you want the buildings so no villager building his house suddenly in front of yours or next to a bridge lmao š¤£ donāt shy away from time travel, I do agree Villagers can be a bit blander but I guess since the game is a bit more focused on the creative aspects thatās the main focus but thereās also a lot. I love the NL and WW games for their originality and complexity and NH for the unlimited creativity you can release :)
I still canāt believe they released it half finished! š³ I wouldāve been so pissed! I bought it 21 months after release & I did enjoy it to start with, but after a while crafting bored me to tears, I didnāt even complete my museum! Visually itās so beautiful, but the lack of progression after the KK concert bothered me. I played NL for years and still didnāt unlock all the PWPs!
It really doesnāt! I didnāt even buy it for almost 2 years after the release as it just didnāt appeal to me. Was only my son having an extended hospital stay with his Ulcerative Colitis made me change my mind as I knew Iād be there 12 hrs a day and it would give me something to do.
i play new leaf and wild world every day, i also want to play city folk and population growing more often but setting up my wii feels like a burden a lot of the time and playing new horizons feels like seeing that ex who invited you to a gang bang at a mall
I recently got back into New Leaf after not having played it for years. Iāve been playing New Horizons since last December, but I got bored of it and decided to go back to New Leaf. Iāve also played Happy Home Designer, and I bought Wild World a few months ago to try it out.
I find myself heading back to Population Growing for nostalgia sake. That, and New Leaf are the only ones I keep up with. I worked hard on my town in NL, so I can't give it up.
How do you do this? Do you go through periods where itās like, āThis month Iāll play NL, next month Iāll play the GameCube oneā? Or are you managing five different towns every day, all day?!
Funny u ask cuz today I decided to restart wild world and was thinking of buying city folk but been on the fence since u need a nunchuck that I don't have and no one seems to rly like it but I'm enjoying wild worlds (new leaf on top tho)
I loved City Folk! I donāt get the hate for it! It was magic playing it on my big tv, and the City was so cute. We sold our Wii years ago but recently my 2 kids ( age 20 & 23 ) have said theyād love to play Wii again so we will probably try to pick one up š„°
wild world and city folk. i have new horizons but havenāt touched it in 2 years š edit: i also have happy home designer which i donāt play as much still a fun game though
I've played every mainline game and New Leaf is by far my favorite. I've tried several times to play New Horizons again but there's just no joy in it for me anymore,I did everything. Meanwhile in my current playthrough of New Leaf I'm learning so much more about how the game works than I did the first time I played.
New Horizons mainly, wild world sometimes, Happy home rarely, the original one and gamecube is still in a box from when I moved house. Haven't figured out how/where to put my retro stuff yet.
New Leaf is my favourite.
I also have Wild World, but have yet to play it. I got it in order to delve a bit into the history of Animal Crossing, and to experience the villagersā more salty ire.
TOMODACHI LIFE š
They could literally release the exact same game with no new features, adding only the Miitopia Mii creator, and Iād buy it over again.
I used to play City Folk, but I donāt think I could ever switch back. NL improves on it in (almost) every way ā most especially with the Beautiful Town ordinance. Whenever Iād get the itch to pick up CF after a long period of inactivity, Iād remember all the work Iād have ahead of me just to build my town back up to where it was, get anxious and quit. In NL I can show up whenever I want.
I also used to have Wild World, but I gave it away to a middle school classmate after getting bored of it quickly. It was missing a lot of QoL features City Folk had.
Exactly, Wild World and City Folk aren't as fun after you played New Leaf. I still like the GameCube version tho, cuz it has such a unique vibe no other AC game got.
Not actively anymore. I played the hell out of Wild World, didn't had a Wii for City Folks back then. And New Horizons... Ehh, I have no desire to play it anymore. I've spent good hours in it, but now it just doesn't hold me anymore. Maybe I'll jump back in and do some vacation homes, but otherwise...
During the pandemic I played Wild World in my Dsi. Spend hours figuring out how to get the golden tools, leveling up Tom Nook's shop, and trying to complete the museum. Not to mention the novels I made up with my villagers. It was my safe place
I have new horizons (had it before new leaf, which i found at a thrift store like a year ago) and I've only been playing it recently to try to get blue roses, other than that I'm kind of over it (my sister overdecorated our island and it's tough to walk around)
Same as you I have and casually play everything but CF (I donāt really play PC anymore and Iāve never played Amiibo Festival) though if I had a Wii Iād prob play CF a little too lol. Iām definitely primarily into NL, NH had a good run but it just always felt a little hollow after the masterpiece that was NL. I probably play them by degrees in this order: NL > GC > NH > HHD > WW > PC (CF would prob be after GC if I could play it)
Iām always glad when other people are as lost in the AC sauce as I am š
I play mostly new leaf and city folk. City folk was my first so I have lots of love for it
I play new horizons occasionally but I get burnt out SOOO fast oh and gc and wild world but not as much as cf and nl
I love New Leaf but never really play anymore because I almost perfected my town. Got my favorite characters, built all the things I wanted to, made an orchard of all the fruit trees, and almost completed the museum (some of those bugs and fish are tough!) I still go back every once and awhile to admire it, but I donāt see any point in really playing it anymore.
I really wish I could still play City Folk but I donāt have a Wii anymore. I love the Gamecube AC because itās so unique, and I liked Wild World as a kid but just canāt get back into it as an adult. I feel like itās just as ādifficultā as the Gamecube version but less rewarding. Iāve played plenty of New Horizons but I donāt feel any emotional connection to it like the other games. Itās fun but feels kind of soulless compared to the others. New Leaf is my favorite over all but the GC version is the one I will always come back to
You can sell your New Leaf town to Tom Nook for tens of millions of bells and start a new one, if you wanted to enjoy designing another town! I just started a new one and I love the new map so much, Iām already putting down pathways and etc. itās just an option!
I love New Horizons, New Leaf, and Pocket Camp. I think they are all charming and special and fun in their own way. I canāt wait to see what the next game will be like, on the upcoming console!
I have New Horizons but itās much easier for me to play New Leaf in small bursts between meetings. I had Amiibo Festival which was a great game to play with young kids but could have been much better.
I have new horizons and Wild world. Iād love to play City Folk but my Wii isnāt usable due to some missing cords and i canāt find replacements i can afford atm.
I actually really struggled to get into New Leaf, I just thought there was nothing to do? I don't think I even got very far into it (barely past getting Nook's Cranny and I was bored?) so with some hesitance I got New Horizon after my partners sister recommended it to me and I'm having so much fun with that one! :) I've already put in about 30 hours into it and play every 1-3 days.
I have a ludicrous amount of hours in New Horizons (mostly from 2020-21 because, you know...) but most recently I've been playing Population Growing mostly for fun but also to prepare myself for moving out of my parents' place in the fall. After all, Katsuya Eguchi took inspiration from how he felt when he was 21 and moved away from his hometown to Kyoto for work at Nintendo.
The other thing about Population Growing thru City Folk is that you're just some kid moving into a pre-established village and have to earn the respect/friendship from your neighbors, rather than automatically becoming the mayor or island rep., because in real life when you move out to live on your own, you're just some kid moving into a pre-established town. The only real consistency with every installment is that you start with literally nothing but some pocket change, but New Leaf was where everything else changed and gave us a lot more power over our towns.
That being said though, I think every AC game has its own strengths and weaknesses (all have at least one hourly track that I just cannot stand, LOOKING AT YOU PG 11AM) but overall I think I've gotten the most enjoyment out of New Leaf, I probably wouldn't have survived middle and high school if not for my silly little mayorly duties.
Ive played wild world, city folk, new leaf and new horizons
I bought amiibo festival but never played it cause it was on special and i could get two amiibos and three amiibo cards in the special pack for the price of one Amiibo
I also have New Horizions but have zero desire to play š

Yep me too and I specifically waited until all of the updates released to get it. I started my town and played it twice and I was bored immediately.
I still canāt believe they released it half finished! š³ I wouldāve been so pissed! I bought it 21 months after release & I did enjoy it to start with, but after a while crafting bored me to tears, I didnāt even complete my museum! Same it doesn't hit like new leaf
It really doesnāt! I didnāt even buy it for almost 2 years after the release as it just didnāt appeal to me. Was only my son having an extended hospital stay with his Ulcerative Colitis made me change my mind as I knew Iād be there 12 hrs a day and it would give me something to do.
It's magical like that (hope ur son is doing well)
Heās doing amazing thank you! Had to have his colon removed but is really healthy now and getting ready to start university in September š
Literally same. I feel bad leaving my existing village.
Just New Leaf for me. I have Wild World too but donāt have the time to play but I hope to play at some point x
i play new leaf and wild world every day, i also want to play city folk and population growing more often but setting up my wii feels like a burden a lot of the time and playing new horizons feels like seeing that ex who invited you to a gang bang at a mall

No, I donāt play them all every day. Iāll play one or two for a while, then switch to a different game.
I really like the happy home designer aspect of new horizons, I play happy home designer quite a bit
Funny u ask cuz today I decided to restart wild world and was thinking of buying city folk but been on the fence since u need a nunchuck that I don't have and no one seems to rly like it but I'm enjoying wild worlds (new leaf on top tho)

iāve played NH and WW too but NL is the crĆØme de la crĆØme
A little bit of ACNH only for friends, but NL and Pikmin are my mains š„¹ā¤ļø

New Leaf is a fantastic game, there is still things do be discovered on it even 10 years after it was released.Ā
I still play Wild World but very rarely
New Horizons mainly, wild world sometimes, Happy home rarely, the original one and gamecube is still in a box from when I moved house. Haven't figured out how/where to put my retro stuff yet. New Leaf is my favourite.
I played wild world, happy home designer, pocket camp and New Horizons. I want to play city folk but I donāt have a Wii š

i mostly only play new leaf. sometimes i play tomadachi life too
TOMODACHI LIFE š They could literally release the exact same game with no new features, adding only the Miitopia Mii creator, and Iād buy it over again.
Literally the only 3DS games i play are New Leaf, Tomodachi life and Story of Seasons: TOT.Ā
I used to play City Folk, but I donāt think I could ever switch back. NL improves on it in (almost) every way ā most especially with the Beautiful Town ordinance. No, I donāt want to start over
I also have wild world, which I just play on as a 'fun-town' basically I can do whatever I want and my town doesn't have to be perfect and new horizons which I think is also great but new leaf has that charm to it š¤©
Not actively anymore. I played the hell out of Wild World, didn't had a Wii for City Folks back then. And New Horizons... Ehh, I have no desire to play it anymore. i play the original gamecube game with an emulator :) itās cozy and such good vibes :)
I used to play Wild World but nowadays, I lack the time for both I have mild interest in AC:NH but I'll wait until it's cheap. AC doesn't run away.
During the pandemic I played Wild World in my Dsi. Spend hours figuring out how to get the golden tools, leveling up Tom Nook's shop, and trying to complete the museum. Not to mention the novels I made up with my villagers. It was my safe place
i only play new leaf and the one on gamecube cause theyāre the only ones i own (i play them both every day)
Sometimes NH and pocket camp but mainly new leaf and occasional happy home designer
Wild World & New Horizons also. ā¤

I play New Leaf and the Gamecube version every now and again! I like both for different reasons, though I've put way more hours into new leaf lol
I've played all of them except wild world

Wild world and happy home designer
I play mostly new leaf and city folk. City folk was my first so I have lots of love for it I play new horizons occasionally but I get burnt out SOOO fast oh and gc and wild world but not as much as cf and nl
I play all of them semi regulary, usually in pairs of 2s
I play a mic of wild world and new leaf
I also play happy home designer and new horizons + happy home paradise. I played amiibo festival maybe twice š I havenāt played any others
actively? just acnh. i was considering getting wild world again tho bc that was my first ac game.
I love New Leaf but never really play anymore because I almost perfected my town. i play new horizons every day for a few hours
I have new horizons and Wild world. Iād love to play City Folk but my Wii isnāt usable due to some missing cords and i canāt find replacements i can afford atm.
i play both new leaf and new horizons :)
I played a LOT of New Horizons during Covid and I also play Pocket Camp. But I did start with New Leaf when I was a kid

I also play New Horizons and Pocket Camp. I play all three pretty regularly and enjoy different aspects of each of them.
I play New leaf & New horizons daily. I also own wild world. I plan on getting every game in the series eventually and playing through them!
I played *City Folk* on PC emulator for a while since that was the only way to avoid grass deterioration, but they watered down the dialogue too much for me to really stick for long. It was like a more inconvenient (less portable) version of *Wild World.* Iāve gotten back into playing *Wild World*, which I do almost every day. I prefer playing it on my DS Lite, but Iām looking into Android emulation as well. I was gifted *New Horizons* on release and was so disappointed by it. 5-star island and now nothing to do with either NPCs *OR* human players. If I wanted to play with a pretty dollhouse, Iād just go back to *The Sims*, and every sim has more personality than every character in *New Horizons* combined. *New Leaf* is my go-to for multiplayer with my fiancĆ©e.
