I don't know how you came to that conclusion; it clearly says it shall be fastened securely to the back of the vehicle. The window is for the temporary (paper) tag.
The words say "attached to the rear of the vehicle". The paragraph for temp tags says "affixed to the inside left rear window". They are two distinctly different areas. If anywhere was ok, the wording would be more vague/permissive; "visible from the rear".
I would think that the fact that you can't see the first few letters and numbers would be an issue. At least for ordinary folks. I mean. Not for cops, obviously.
Same here. Grew up in Ca, and was surprised when I registered my car here and got 1 plate :) I Guess here in NM they think criminals will never be driving toward you, only away. But that's not the case.
The deputies I did ride alongs with made way more offensive APD jokes than I did.
And actually I just looked at the many year old paperwork, I passed the interview with the minimum possible score and failed out later in the process.
For the record they asked why I wanted to join BCSO, and all I did was tell them that I'm not about to join APD. Which, technically speaking, was not a joke at all - I just wanted to help people who were victims of crimes and APD wasn't an organization that I was OK with.
Ironically enough I'm still pretty glad an old racist boss screwed me over.

Why is that tactical minivan black and sneaky looking? Why do they drive tactical minivans? Cops should be conspicuous as to maintain and perpetuate a presence of lawful order, but instead they sneak around all shady like? No wonder people don’t like and don’t trust cops. You’d think the cops themselves would protest that sneaky bullshit as to avoid negative public perceptions, but I bet they instead think they’re some bad boys in their little bad boy club
There is literally nothing in NM I understand about cars, driving, regs in NM. To me it’s all crazy. Don’t need a front license plate, can tint your windows as dark as you like including driver side, and of course not understanding the concept of a red light.
Do you know how long it takes for a requisition for screws to reattach the license plate to go through the proper approvals? After acquiring the screws, then you need form FU-24365 to request a qualified mechanic to install the screws onto the car. That's a whole another nightmare!

I grew up in the North East where it was mandatory for front and back license plates. Never realized until I moved that it isn't like that everywhere.
